Looking at things from afar, one might think that all is well. But only when you observe and get a closer look at it, should you know what's truly going on.
"Do you ever look at someone and wonder what's going on inside their head?" A famous line, which you may or may not have already heard of, is highly applicable in this case.
You'll certainly think about that line when you see this young student as he gazes outside the window seemingly unperturbed by the loud commotion in the classroom and looks to be in deep thought. With a slender physique that stands tall among his peers, white groomed hair that hangs unto his forehead, round aquamarine eyes set rooted within their sockets.
One would surely think that this young student is contemplating of something deep and sensible. Hell, he might be even thinking about the fate of the universe.
But do not be fooled by his outer appearance though, as this young student is undoubtedly daydreaming. Only when you get to know what he's thinking of, should you begin to judge him. He might be really pondering over something philosophical or something that would change the world for all we know.
But is he really thinking about that, though?
'With 5 children with Tris I could make a basketball team, with 11, I could make a football team. Hmmm, at least 12 children would surely please my ancestors, right?'
These were the thoughts of the daydreamer named Magnus Flint, a mediocre student who has nothing better to do in life. Magnus is a major procrastinator and his looks could be considered just above average when compared to his peers, but despite of this he still thinks he can get girls way above his league, Trista to be exact.
Snapping out from his daydreaming, Magnus suddenly spoke. "Man, what's with the teacher today, where the hell is he? We should just go and eat now." Magnus said to himself while looking at a group of students eating at the cafeteria.
Magnus was particularly ogling a girl whose pale skin resembled that of a pearl with her jade green eyes, luscious natural redness of her lips and pitch black hair that reached onto her hips, her figure could be described as perfect if any man would choose to answer if asked. Trista was a world-class beauty to put it shortly,
She gave off a graceful and elegant vibe, yet mysterious in its own way, which easily gave the opposite gender a rising feeling within. This girl was named Trista King. A childhood friend of Magnus, but he definitely didn't see her only as a friend. Magnus had deep feelings for Tris and would do just about anything for her... at least that's what he thinks.
"Oi stupid Flint stop looking at Tris, you've got no chance at getting her." A burly student who was even taller than Magnus came out of nowhere and began to make fun of him.
This burly student was called Xiao Chen, a long time classmate and one of those who Magnus considers a close friend.
"I wasn't looking at Tris dumbass, I was just gazing out the window. It wasn't my fault she was sitting in the direction I was looking at." Magnus says in reply to defend himself.
"Enough enough, everyone get back to your seats and remain quiet." The late teacher says to the class.
Seeing that the class had gone silent the teacher began to teach and after the period came Lunch.
"Why did the teacher even bother coming to class? He only had like 10 minutes to teach... Anyway, I'm starving, come on let's eat." Magnus says to his friends before they went out and headed to the cafeteria.
Magnus along with a group of classmates went down to the cafeteria and met up with people from the classroom beside theirs and began to eat.
While eating, a student who was about as tall as Magnus who possessed an athletic build approached Magnus. This student who looked agile on his feet was a friend of Magnus named Wang Ley and sat beside him. Wang Ley began to tell Magnus words that he would never in his life think would happen. "Oi Flint have you heard the thing about Tris that's been going around? I figured I should ask you first."
"What thing buddy? Come on, tell me." Magnus asks while seemingly looking uninterested.
"The irony huh? Out of all people, you haven't got any idea. Some kids said that they saw her coming out this hotel with an old man." Wang Ley whispered to Magnus as he took out an image of the supposed hotel that Tris came out of.
"Buddy, where did you hear these baseless rumors from though and where did you get this?" Magnus took the picture from Wang Ley's hand and asked him as he looked at the picture that Wang Ley showed him, Magnus looked a little irritated.
"Chill dude don't kill the messenger, I only overheard it when I was walking past A10-B's classroom, coincidentally I previously went into the hotel they were talking about and have a picture of it because of certain things that you need not know." Wang Ley winked jokingly as he spoke again.
"It's a flyer that I cut up just to show to you, a good friend is what I am!" Wang Ley laughed as he told Magnus, hoping for him to ease up.
"Now that's what you call effort!" Magnus tapped Wang Ley's shoulders as he laughed before speaking again. "But man, those underclassmen seems to have little respect for the seniors now. They should just mind their business. You say you heard it from A10-B's room, right?" Magnus replied.
"That's right, the leader's got a buzz cut and the other goons has fancy haircuts. At least, that's from what I remember." Wang Ley confirmed Magnus's question.
"Talking to the underclassmen huh, want us to accompany you there?" Xiao Chen asked Magnus.
"No need for that. If you guys came with me, it would look like we're asking for a fight. I just need to have a talk with them. If I find out that these rumors are all lies, then that's where you guys come in." Magnus solemnly replied.
After acquiring the origin of the rumor, Magnus went back to their classroom and waited for class to end. He decided to have a "small chat" with the underclassmen who made the rumors.
When the classes ended, Magnus went to the A10-B's room alone without delay and waited for the underclassmen described by his friend.
Soon, a group of students walked past him. They looked very different from how Wang Ley described them.
"Damn, these people don't look young, are they even my underclassmen?... But I still need to have words with them." Magnus said to himself. He steeled himself and tried to ignore their appearance to muster up the courage to call them.
