We stepped out of the TARDIS and my jaw nearly hit the floor.
"When are we?", I asked in awe,
"It's been five minutes since we left the hotel.",the doctor announced,
"Then where are we?" I asked still in awe,
"Where? We're outside your hotel", I turned to him, he looked at me waving a hand towards the hotel and spoke, "welcome to the Oddfellows hotel." I looked towards the building in front of me, it looked different, yes I know what you're thinking, a bomb had hit the place, and because we changed history the bomb never hit it, yes that's true, but that wasn't what I meant, what I meant was that the hotel was bigger, where I had a hundred rooms in the hotel it seemed that only one floor had a hundred rooms, the hotel took over half the block where it used to take up less than a quarter, Damon came to my side and took my hand in his, he dragged me towards the hotel. we stepped inside, I looked around expecting it to be different but it wasn't, it was the same, I guess it was only bigger above the foyer
"There you are, you are ten minutes late!" Natasha came from behind the reception desk, she walked over to me seeing Damon's hand in mine, she whispered in my ear, "it's about time." I blushed and let go of Damon's hand Natasha laughed and left the hotel
"You okay?" Damon questioned, regarding me letting go of his hand, I just nodded and walked behind the desk, there was a plush black chair, it looked really comfortable Stanley and Hannah were walking towards their room, I waved at them and they waved back, Damon leaned on the desk with his elbows.
"So, no more enmity between species, an enmity that existed since the first vampires walked the earth, now there's nothing!",I leaned forward our faces nearly touching.
"There was never enmity between the two species, Damon remember we can never mention what we knew, what we remember?",Damon nodded in agreement, although we agreed, it would be hard.
"I'm going to go see what Stefan is up to." he smacked the desk a few times with his fingers then left. I explored the desk and I found a sheet of paper, on further inspection I noticed it was a rota, I realised it was for the hotel, a rota that told me who was on shift and when, I realised I don't work all the time, like I usually do, I also realised there was another person that worked here, Nathan. I had no idea who Nathan was, but he worked here. Nathan's shift would start in six hours I would find out then.
Damon came back down after ten minutes,
"There you are, I was about to call a search party!" I joked but Damon wasn't laughing he was squinting at me as if deep in thought "what's wrong?",I asked,
"Stefan", he pointed towards the stairs with his thumb "he's up there, with his wife", I raised an eyebrow at him "we missed his wedding" he carried on "I mean he got married before he met you, so, you know you're fine, but me? I don't even know when he got married, I don't know the date!", he started counting off on his fingers "I don't know what I wore, what he wore, what she wore, where the wedding happened, what kind of wedding it was" he finished with a shrug, I saw fear in his eyes," what if one day we're talking and he says 'hey Damon, do you remember that song that was played on my wedding? What was it called?I want to get the CD' or something like that, I'm doomed!", he banged his head on the desk, I stroked his back.
I realised something,
"Wait, he got married before we met?" Damon nodded his head, picking it up off the desk "that means we never dated.", I pointed out, Damon thought for a bit
"Guess not", he shrugged "guess you have no reason to be horrible to him" he told me. Damon put his head on the desk again and pretended to weep.
"You know there is a spell I could do that would allow you to remember everything we missed throughout our whole lives" I told him, Damon picked his head up again, this time he was smiling
"I'm listening",he said oh so sexily
"Well I could do the spell, it doesn't require much, and it's not hard to do", I told him thinking about it
"Hmm, I detect a but", he said with a smirk
"Well your mind can't compensate for two different sets of memories, therefore if we do this spell you will forget everything you know, the life you knew will never have happened", I explained, Damon thought about it,
"I don't want to forget everything, something's I don't mind forgetting but there are some I never want to forget", he seemed deep in thought. I knew he was speaking about Elaina, I had to blink back tears and I nearly choked, calming myself a little I spoke in a whisper.
"You won't forget everything Damon, just the things that changed, for example, when Stefan was bitten by the werewolf and nearly died, that never happened, according to the rest of the world, he was never bitten", Damon nodded in thought,
"And all my memories would be replaced with what happened in this world?", He asked to which I nodded.
"And unless Elaina ended up with a werewolf in this world all those memories will stay intact" I said with venom in my voice, vicious I know, Damon looked at me as if to say 'what the hell?' But I just looked down and apologised in a low voice, not really meaning it,
"What about the doctor? The TARDIS? The adventure? Will we forget all that?" Damon asked
"I don't know, a part of me thinks yes, because if there was no war he wasn't needed, but the other part thinks that because he dropped us off here and now, we will remember him", I shrugged not really knowing how to explain. Nevertheless Damon nodded still thinking, after a few seconds he stood up telling me he was going to the pub.
After ten minutes of drinking bourbon he came back, he had made his decision.
"You know what I'm going to do?", He asked leaning on the desk with his arms, after I shook my head he side smirked and carried on "I'm going to keep my memories, and I think you should do the same." without waiting for me to say anything he winked at me then walked backwards towards the stairs, "those were good memories, great even, it was a great adventure, and I never want to forget it" when he was about three steps away from the door he turned around facing the door leading to the stairs, I smiled as he disappeared past the door and up the stairs, I was glad he had said he wanted to keep his memories, I would need someone to talk to.
Nathan came to his shift, I realised straight away that he was not a vampire, this man had a heartbeat, I then realised he was a werewolf, that's why I had never seen him before, he wouldn't be here in the other world, I was glad he was here, I learnt a lot, slowly I got accustomed to this new life, and I loved it, I was happy with this new world, I was careful with my questions, and I was careful with what I said.
