Early the next morning, the weather started to feel a little chilly which means that the Fall season is here soon. I pulled myself out from the sofa with my head a million work schedules to plan for when my phone surfaced a text. I rub my eye and read the text from Mr Alvin and it says that the electricians came today but it would take a few days as all the lights were busted.
To my happiness, I was given the day off and that led me to work on the schedules while we waited for that unexpected incident to be solved. So for now, I put my work aside, made my cup of tea and prepared breakfast. I ate a hearty meal which I do not usually make a habit of it. Then I took out the papers and started to look at them, however not a minute passed that I stashed the papers back into my bag. Thinking that I'll finish them later in the day. I decide to stay indoors on days like this.
Moments after, an uninvited knock tapped on the door. "Who could be here today?" I thought and crossed the room to open the door. To my surprise, a familiar face stood in front me with a big smile on his face. Minhyuk stood by the door! "Minhyuk!" I exclaimed with a tone of surprised shock, in a good way. "Hi! Do you miss me?" he said with excitement. I led him into my place and closed the door behind me. "You don't look like it that way." he joked. I exchanged my surprised expression to a happy one now and went right to throw my arms tight around him. "Of course I am!" I said. "Am I glad to see you!" He was taken by surprise but hugged me back. I rattled off the words to him not stopping once. Finally I let go and asked "Hey Min, what are you doing here anyway?" "I thought you had work?"
"Well, yes." he replied. "I basically work with codes and numbers, remember?" He put his luggage and bag down. "Oh Min, you could have called me. I would pick you up if I knew." I told him. He grinned and told me that he never thought to call. "I wanted to surprise you," he laughed. "That's why I didn't want to tell you before."
"You surprised me all right!"
He suddenly has a thought. "Hey Lea, weren't you supposed to be working?" So I said, "I am." Pointing at the stack of papers scattered on the table. "I'm having my day off today though." We both crashed on the already messy sofa, then I told him all about what happened for the past few days. I spilled the news about Ivy and Wonho, the fashion event, how I got an offer to model for Mr Fabian, had a little fun recurring the incident of the model from the shopping mall. Minhyuk listened to me rattle off the past week with great interest and finally I ended off with how the electricity lights in the company had busted.
"Wow!" Minhyuk blink at me after I finish talking. "The past week looks so interesting for you." I stared at him. "What? No way! It was a very hectic month." "And not to mention I have to keep dodging that cheap model every way I can."
"So get rid of her." Minhyuk said, unbothered. "It's not as easy as you picture it though." And he just shrugged his shoulders. We talked for a whole afternoon since he came here with a surprise visit. The scattered papers were left forgotten. He left his seat to unpack in the spare room which I left the space exactly where he left it the last time he came for the trip. "Sorry. I haven't had the time to tidy up the room." and I added that "as I had no idea you were coming."
"That's okay." He waved his hands. "I can manage, all right." And he left dragging his luggage in the room to unpack. I finally turn my attention to the forgotten papers unmanaged. I turned on my phone and saw that I had a few missed calls and messages which were all from Wonho and it was unanswered all the time I was with my friend.
The sound of the click of the door made me look back. Minhyuk has finished unpacking his luggage and came out of the room. "I'm starving. Do you have anything to eat?" I told him, "Sure. Luckily I bought extras in the fridge." I jerked my head to the kitchen area. "Great!" I stood up from the sofa to stretch and went to the kitchen area. "I didn't realise it before, but I'm a little hungry." MInhyuk was already scanning through the fridge. We both ate an early dinner. I struck up the conversation first and had a thought. "So, Min. My company's fashion week is coming around the corner, do you think you can stay in New York a little longer?"
He looked up from his plate and said "I will, when is it?" I then replied "It is in three more weeks."
"Ooh, tight."
We laughed and later cleaned up after finishing our meals. Minhyuk grabbed the game controller and plugged a game in. "Hey, you didn't throw away the game controller and everything." He said. "I told you I didn't have time to clean. And probably won't ever." I said, but changed my mind. "Or I could, once fashion week is over. I could have snagged a day."
I spend the whole day with Minhyuk and once again work on the pile left on the sofa which I feel much obliged to throw them in the trash. I then rummaged through another folder where I drew my own inspired ideas and did a few quick sketches onto the sketch pad.
After a while I put down the sketch pad to join my friend sitting in front of the television. I grabbed a game controller and joined him along.
