Chapter 6 - Chapter 21

To make my friend feel better, I had him shop at a games store, where he got excited with the latest video games. Just as we stepped in the shop, he turned around and said "I know what you're doing." I exchanged my flustered shock, purposefully ignoring his guess  and said to him "Come on, you love video games. Let's go!" I smiled.

He shook his head in a sigh and we went into the shop. At the same time he was bored of the old video game sets I had anyway, so it is the perfect time to get a new one. We continue to walk more with packs of new game sets full in the shopping bags.

It was really crowded today. Shoppers are all laughing and talking about which designer bags are better and whose shoes are the best, turning it into a competition. The pathway was so crowded today that Minhyuk and I had to keep dodging shoppers the whole way out of the narrow walkway. I waited for Minhyuk to catch up and asked if he wanted to have ice cream on the way back. "Hey Min, do you want some ice cream? We can have it to-go."

"Sure!" We walked a long distance more and climbed a few escalators to the fourth floor where more clothes shops, essentials, toys and accessories, stationeries, bookstores, bread and cake shops and many other food restaurants stood out with their many many creative big signs hung up. Promoters were also hard at work as they persuaded shoppers to buy their product.

Finally we came to an ice cream shop filled with huge varieties to choose, from toppings to the delicious and bright flavor. As we waited among the long line of people choosing their ever so indecisive choices, we both looked up to the big menus posted at the top of our heads debating which flavor is nice to eat. After a while, we made our decision with Minhyuk's chocolate chip flavor ice cream and my favourite Mint and green flavor ice cream. However when it was our turn to choose, two inconsiderate customers had sneakily cut in line purposely not seeing us standing there. I turned to Minhyuk making a face but he just shrugged his shoulders. After the two customers had made their final order, we went ahead to make ours where I too made a last minute order as I waited for the ice cream, and found that their menus had milkshakes too. I add a Cotton flavored milkshake to our orders. Minhyuk then turned to me and asked where we're going next.

"We're going home after" I told him. "So soon?"

"That's right." I added "I still have a bunch of delayed work now to be done. And it's going to get dark soon."

We made our order to-go and walk the long way back to the exit door and into the car. The sky was getting quite cloudy and grey so I thought that we'll still make it back home before the sky starts pouring. I drove us back safely to the apartment when a streak of lightning flashed through the sky. "Perfect timing." I told myself. We both walked up to my place with our shopping bags still in perfect condition and made a run  for it. We were both exhausted as I sat down on the sofa and he, on the other side.

I decided to take a shower before doing the now delayed papers and dates. After we both took turns to shower, I was determined to finally get the dates change and papers done.

The days and dates had to be changed and moved to the last two weeks of the month. I looked out at the roaring thunder and heavy rain from the window and thought that in this weather, I wouldn't think the electricians could get any work done. I turned back and focused until I got them done late in the night where I heard Minhyuk shutting in and out of the room a couple of times, rummaging through the fridge for snacks.  At last, I put down the last paper of work and got up to stretch. I turn to the clock which says that it is now a little to eleven. "It's getting late and I finished it just in time." Feeling slightly good of it now that there's no work overload.

I then walked to the kitchen for a quick snack too, and made cup noodles. "Great!" Minhyuk voiced out. "Are you still getting the day off tomorrow?" I replied and said, "Not tomorrow." " Because tomorrow we had to be at the event for a last minute check up." I corrected myself. "Well, the production team's check up." Minhyuk frowned "Can I come with you tomorrow?" he pleaded. "At least I get to see the big stage." I thought about it and shrugged.  "Okay, why not?" I said. "Then maybe you'll get to see the model I was talking about." He smiled wide and squealed "Cool! I promised I won't be in the way!"

The next day at work, I arrived early for the first time ever since I started here. I got to the building and saw that everything was operating as normally as it is. There wasn't any usual traffic for the elevator so I took my time to grab a latte cup before riding up to the third floor. I slump down on my work desk, allowing the heavy weight of my head to lie on the table. My eyelids were exhausted from the lack of sleep as I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. Sleepily, my eyes laid upon another batched of sketches that Mr Alvin designed for the season. I've always  admired drawings like these. They look so complicated.

I was surprised when a knock on the door was heard, pulling me away from the pretty sketches. Mr Alvin had arrived too and said "Good morning Lea, I'm sure there's lots of work to be done today." I smiled and he walked out, but then remembered something and told me "Also, I received a note that Mr Wonho wants to see you later."

"Oh alright, Mr Alvin." "I'll see him later then. Thanks." But at the same time, I don't want to see him later.
