Chapter 31 :
Nine days later :
"Ahh... Ms. Jamespell, how are you this fine day?" asked Louise as she entered the room, with a tray in her hands.
Victoria released a groan as she buried her head into the pillow. "Imf vike miht," said Victoria.
Louise chuckled slightly and mocked while cocking her hand behind her ears, "What was that? I couldn't hear you."
Victoria then released a muffled scream before getting up slowly. "I said," started Victoria as she looked into Louise's eyes while giving her a deadpan look, "That I feel like shit." she continued.
Louise and Victoria had become excellent friends during these past few days. It all started when Victoria woke up and the doctor who performed the surgery wanted nothing to do with Victoria because he was busy.
And forced to deal with a possibly angry patient, Louise decided that it was better to at least try to be friends with Victoria, than have it possible awkward between them.
It was the best decision that she has ever made.
"When am I going to get out of this hellhole?" asked Victoria as she took up a grape and popped it into her mouth. "Well, you're in luck because someone came and signed your release form," informed Louise as she plopped onto the bed backward.
"Hey, watch it!" exclaimed Victoria as she watched her grapes jumped out of the bowl when Louise's body contacted the bed.
"I'm so tired," moaned Louise as she tried to cuddle with Victoria, "Nah, I don't think so," said Victoria as she pried Louise's hand off her.
"I'm the one who's supposed to be saying that," started Victoria as she pointed a finger into Louise's face, "I'm the patient and you're the doctor" continued Victoria while pouting.
"God, please shut up," demanded Louise as placed her hands under the chin, "We can both be patients today."
"Hmm...you'll probably lose your job, do you want that?" queried Victoria, but heard no response.
"Lou?"
"Please, tell me that-" started Victoria as she turned around to look behind her, but paused when she noticed a snoring Louise.
'Damn, they must have exhausted her from all the work that they've been giving her,' thought Victoria as she moved the hair from her face and place it behind her ears. Getting up off the bed, she placed a kiss on Louise's forehead and whispered, "Sweet dreams Lou."
Victoria then took the bowl of grapes and tiptoed towards the door. The first thing Victoria noticed when she opened the door was her babies.
They both had a boutique of roses in their hands and Andrew was standing behind them holding a balloon in his hands that said, 'I miss you, not them.'
Victoria gave a soft chuckle while shaking her head, 'Well, that's Andrew for you guys' she thought.
Dropping to her knees, Victoria opened her arms, and Emma and Ciro immediately ran into her arms. "Mom, Uncle Andrew said you ate a baby," informed Emma as she snuggled into her mother's side.
"He said she was pregnant, Emma" corrected Ciro while scrolling through his phone. "So mom, what's the gender?" asked Ciro while taking his eyes off his phone for a brief second to look at his mother.
Victoria look at Ciro with a proud smile and rubbed her hands on his small back and said, "I'm not sure as yet" she said but continued when she saw his shoulder dropped a little, "But we'll all know in the next four months."
Ciro nodded excitedly and said, "I'm going to have my schedule cleared for this," he informed.
Victoria looked behind Andrew to see if there was a certain someone behind him but saw nothing of any importance to her.
"What are you looking for?" asked Andrew, when he noticed that she was continually looking past him.
"I was looking for... Umm," started Victoria as she searched for an excuse to tell her cousins.
"You were looking for?" urged Andrew.
Looking down at her toes, Victoria gave a defeated sigh as she admitted, "I was looking for Axel."
"Hmm."
"What do you mean by... Hmm?" queried Victoria while crossing her arms.
"Oh... I mean, we haven't seen him in a while," informed Andrew as he watched his cousin's expression to the information that he'd just told her.
Disappointment rushed through her as she heard the news. 'He must be at Laura's,' she thought bitterly.
Looking at Andrew, she pouted, "I'm hungry."
Andrew gave her a wary look. He was not sure how he was going to deal with a pregnant woman who can smoothly transition into different emotions in the blink of an eye and to make things much harder, her heart was in pain with Axel and all.
"Yeah, I think my stomach is crying for some Starbucks," He agreed while rubbing his tummy.
"Blah, I'm craving for some Dunkin'," she said while rubbing her stomach.
"Mom, Butler Norts went into your office while you were here," said Emma as she swang her little legs back and forth while playing in Victoria's hair.
A frown made its way onto Victoria's face as soon as she heard this. Turning towards Andrew for conformation, she saw him wearing the same expression as her.
"Emma baby, can you please tell mom exactly what you saw?" asked Victoria as she looked straight into Emma's eyes.
"Can I get Ice-cream after this?" asked Emma and Victoria immediately nodded her head and replied, "Of course honey, anything for my baby."
"Last night I wasn't able to sleep and I decided that some chocolate cookie would help," explained Emma while giving Victoria and Andrew a guilty look.
She knew that her mom and uncle were very disappointed because she had sneaked downstairs to eat cookies which she was not supposed to.
"I-I'm sorry mom," squeaked Emma as she nervously played with her hands, then suddenly she started to cry.
"Oh no baby, don't cry", "Mom's just a bit disappointed" consoled Victoria as she placed Emma's face in the crook of her neck.
"You're still going to get the Ice-cream, don't cry," said Victoria.
'I'm so stressed,' thought Victoria.
