Chapter 34 :
He watched as the workers ran towards their employer as she came through the front door with her family.
"Ma'am was so happy to have you back," said the head maid as her subordinates formed a perfectly straight line behind her.
He watched as she gave them a wide smile while tanking them for taking care of the house while she was away.
The feeling of his jacket moving caused him to look to his left. And there she was, the person who caused him to stay in the dark like a kryminalista.
"Did you get what I asked for?" the snake asked while giving him a stern look.
'How could someone so beautiful be so ugly?' was all that he could ask himself.
The lady standing in front of him was not the person he pledged his life to. This was another version of her, the one who craves revenge and is filled with a lot of hatred.
"I... uh," was all he got out before she pulled a knife at his ribs.
"Don't fucking bullshit me Norts, I ain't got time for your shit," she said in a threatening tone.
"I'-" she started but stopped as she saw the Head maid walking towards them.
"Ava, why are you still here the Madam Victoria called for you minutes ago," she chastised as she stopped along with the rest of the maids behind her.
"M-Ma'am, Butler Norts came he to fetch me," she said as she pointed a finger in his direction with her head held down.
'Take that, you pig,' thought Ava with a smirk plastered on her face.
Rumors were going around in the household about the Head maid's infatuation with Butler Norts. And it was pretty obvious to see, 'Too bad the Butler isn't interested,' her subconscious agreed.
"Oh... Well then, take .... Uh, all the time you need," she said as she looked Ava in the eyes. "Butler Norts, we'll meet again," she continued as she gave him a small smile, before leaving the two behind.
Ava waited until the Head maid was out of sight before she dropped her good-girl facade and turned towards Butler Norts.
Glaring at him, Ava shook her head and sighed.
"Norts I love you, I really do but-" she sobbed before taking a deep breath.
"But he loves me more and treats me better than you can..... If-feel like a queen when I'm around him," she explained as she waved the knife around.
"Ava, why are you doing this?" asked the Butler with a slight crack in his voice. He hated how she constantly brought up this whenever she did not have her way with things.
"What am I doing, Norts?", "I'm only telling you how it is," she said as she pointed towards herself.
"You need to prove yourself to me, Norts... I'm tired of this back and forth, to be honest, I feel you're not giving me your all." Ava stated as she looked at him with teary eyes.
The Butler's heart ached to see her so emotionally unstable. He slowly got to his knees with his hands clasp together.
"Ava baby, please tell me what I can do to help you.... to prove to you I'm the one for you?" he desperately pleaded as he looked at her.
'Bingo,' thought Ava, she was so happy that the acting classes she took before coming here.
"Really? You'd do that for me?" she sniffled.
"Yes... I-I love you, Aves," said the Butler sincerely.
"I need you to take something from your boss's office," she said while running her arms on his chest.
"I-I can't do that," he said while shaking his head, "She's a wonderful woman and I won't do anything to hurt her," he said in a stern voice.
'Well, there goes plan A,' she thought as she mentally rolled her eyes.
She then pouted and asked, "Why Norts?... aren't I the only woman you love?... Do you love her?"
'What's wrong with her?' he thought as he gave her a suspicious stare. He knew she had a problem with the Jamespell family.
And that's why he always gave her the least important part of the files she asked for.
'I won't let Madam Victoria down, even if it cost me the love of my life.' he thought while shaking his head at Ava.
She saw this and shook her head, 'Please don't tell me that this fool is goi-'
"Hey!.... What are you doing?!... let me go!" she screamed as the Butler threw her over his shoulder.
He walked his way over to the direction of his employer. When he was in front of her office door, he turned towards her and nodded towards her and said.
"You told the Head maid that I came there to fetch you... Well, I fetched you and now Madam Victoria is waiting for you."
He then knocked on the door and called out, "Madam?"
After about two minutes of silence, they both heard Victoria saying, "Come in."
They entered the office, with the Butler pulling Ava by the arm.
Everyone in the office was in shock at how aggressively Butler Norts brought Ava in.
"Uh... Norts," started Victoria as she removed her legs off Andrew's lap, "Unhand her now," she demanded while giving him a stern look.
'What's going on here,' she thought confusedly as she looked between a red face Norts and the girl standing behind him.
'Oh god, what did I get myself into,' groaned Butler Norts internally as he cleared his throat.
"Madam Victoria, I have a confession to make," he announced as this caused Ava's head to shoot towards his direction.
"Norts, what are you doing?" she hissed as Butler Norts started the first sentence.
"Ava here has been manipulating me-," he started but heard Ava whispered something, but he decided to ignore her and continued.
"She was the one who's been instructing me to take your files."
Victoria stared at Butler Norts then Ava and vice versa.
All she could think about at this moment was that the old guy has a sugar baby, before voicing.
"This is unbelievable."
