Chapter 6 :
Currently, both Casey and the stranger, both at the park. They both needed to take a stroll by the park because they both had a lot on their mind,' stranger' wanted to be closer to Casey and Casey wanted to disenthrall her mind of Micheal.
The stranger wanted to know Casey, even though he was a bit mendacious - he had always loved the psithurism of the trees in the breeze.
The license was slowly killing the stranger-you could say that he is a bit gregarious.
Clearing his fauces, the stranger turned to Casey, who was fiddling with her fingers in a neurotic manner and queried, "What got you so worked up?".
Casey gave him a confused glance.
She did not know when or if she was going to associate herself with the male species anytime soon. Casey threw him another glance before announcing, "Don't bother wasting your time; I'm not interested."
He let out a strangled laugh and cleeked Casey's metacarpus, "That was not what I asked. " he smirked, "Don't you're too skinny."
The stranger was a bit embarrassed. Casey had said it just without a second thought, and to bury his embarrassment, he did the first thing that came into a normal person's head, lash back with a hurtful comeback.
Both hurt and astonished, Casey tried to ignore the needles of sadness that pricked her all over her body but released a tear when she compared her body to the girl that Micheal was with, and knew she could never be as curvaceous as her.
Painting a happy facade she jumped up and down while emitting a very high-pitched squeal causing this stranger's hand to move along with her as she jumped, "OMG!!!, really I'm so excited -I spent years trying to look this way!", "And for a nobody to tell me this, It's embarrassing." she dead-panned as she turned and walked away, leaving the strange guy surprised and all alone in the park.
Micheal escorted Victoria out of the restaurant, placing his hands on her lower back; he waited with her until her ride came.
Both saying their farewells, Micheal called Axel and asked him for a ride, fast-forwarding to about two hours later, both Micheal and Axel were having a drink in Axel's lounge.
Axel had opted for whiskey while Micheal had vodka, Axel had a hard grip on his glass, so hard that his knuckles started to turn white.
This was because Micheal was expressing his emotions for Victoria, and he could not do anything else but offering some advice.
Axel knew quickly drank all his liquor in one go, it left an acrid taste in his mouth but, it at least got his mind off her.
Victoria was enceinte but was not sure about whose it was, of course, she would throw it away. He was angry because the woman who his friend, Micheal, was crushing on, was going to be the mother of his child; well, that was if she had listened to him.
Although that itself would be a problem, there were a few things he needed to get rid of before he could declare Victoria as to the world.
There had been a lot of unfortunate events that had taken place in Axel's life, from cheating, being accused of cheating, being the most hated person in his, to getting someone pregnant, the mother of his would-be child aborting it and having his best friend simping over what's his.
It seems like his problem won't be getting lesser any time now, and since he was a kid, he was always placed in different types of Augean situation.
Victoria was a person that you would consider or classify a philocalist - a lover of beauty; someone who finds and appreciates beauty in all things.
She was currently scrolling through Pinterest, looking at some pictures of women doing maternity photo shoot, and all she could do was to pause; and gaze at their pregnancy bump for what always seems like an eternity before sniffling at the beauty each picture holds.
An hour passed by and Victoria was still scrolling through the shoots from the pictures and would feel a small jolt of envy shooting through her veins, every time she would see pictures of the baby' father either kissing or placing their hand the mother's stomach and would ask herself, 'What if Everest hadn't cheated, would we be like that?'.
Victoria never thought that she would be the one in a situation like this because ever since she was small, she calculated and planned her entire life.
She planned that she was going to graduate high school with honors and that she did; she planned that she was going by her first place before twenty, and she did that; she planned that she was going to get married at twenty-one, and sadly that goal was not achieved.
She was now scared to face her family and how they would react when they find out that 'The Perfectionist' of their family had a result of something that she didn't plan or calculate down to the very last microsecond. Running her palms over her small bump.
Victoria hummed the tune to a lullaby she had heard her mom sang to her when she was a little girl.
'When you close your eyes, please remember your momma's smile.
Cause you're gonna need it; when you're far, far away.
Think of her eyes and dream of her smile, remember the way she held you close, you're her world, yes you're momma's world.
Please don't hold on when she lets you go, spread your wings and you shall soar; please just remember that you're momma's world. She'll always love you past the end of time, cause you're momma's world.'
When Victoria was finished, she was cradling her baby bump curled up in a fetus position, crying softly. The last time she had heard this lullaby was the night before her mother died. Turning her head towards the window, she closed her eyes imagining a big, bright she; and said,
"I'll love to the moon and back always."
