Chapter 11 :
"Do you really have to go?" whined Laura as Victoria threw some of her clothes in the suitcase. Laura was Victoria's best friend for as long as she could remember, and it all started when she dropped her lunchbox.
She then took it up, calling out to Victoria as she did while holding out her lunchbox; and literally from that day they sat together in class, ate lunch together and had sleepovers together.
Laura was sad to see Victoria packing because this meant that she was not coming back, and Laura knew this because she had picked up a pattern in Victoria's packing style.
If Victoria was going somewhere for a vacation or something, she does not pack, because she believed that if she was going to another country or place for a vacation.
She must carry nothing because it will hinder how she was going to view their culture. When Victoria was going somewhere permanently.
She would pack all of her belongings, because she was afraid of leaving traces of her past behind, weird right?
But seeing Victoria like this freaks the hell out of her, she watched as Victoria's hand was trembling. She furiously kept blinking back the tears as though she did not want her to worry, but it was too late for that.
Pushing the duvet from her legs, Laura got off the bed and went over to Victoria, grabbed her by the hands, and pulled her towards the bed.
Victoria held her head towards the floor and, Laura placed her hands underneath Victoria's chin and slowly raised her hands along with Victoria's chin, causing her head to elevate as well.
Laura did this until Victoria's eyes connected with hers, Victoria's eyes were red and puffy, Laura felt the sadness radiating off her best friend in a vast amount, and she felt helpless that she could do nothing to help but listen.
Looking straight into Victoria's eyes Laura then recited the words that her ex-boyfriend used to say to her, "Keep your head held high, your chin forward and your back straight, show them that your strong and that nothing can break you. I love you."
Laura quickly pushed back the tears to the back of her eyes, which only caused more to come forward and trickle down her lids, and before she knew it they were both on the ground crying their hearts out.
Two minutes later both Victoria and Laura were both sitting on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn between them.
They were both watching the movie '365 Days' and Laura was finagling because the lead in the movie name was also Laura.
Victoria suddenly let out a hard laugh which caused Laura to cross her hands across her chest and frowned at Victoria.
"Hey why are you laughing, all I said was that Michele Morrone's ass looks good" and as she said this, Victoria fell to the floor laughing. It went on like that for two minutes until Victoria finally regained her composure.
"Laurs, I was not laughing about what you said in fact I'm with you on that", "I was laughing because of what happened back up in the room earlier."
Confused, Laura tilted her head to the side and inquired, "What happened in the room earlier?"
Laughing once more Victoria stated, "The fact that you were trying to stop me from crying and you were the one who cried because you said your boyfriend's words."
"Please promise me that your not going to try to comfort another soul, dead or alive" Victoria joked. The two best friends looked each other in the eyes for an infinitesimal moment before laughing.
Laura stopped laughing as she watched how Victoria glowed and how happy her face looked as she moved her head, shaking it together.
She was happy that her friend's mood had changed from how it was earlier; it made her happy to see her best friend happy. After all, she's the only person she could rely on, and she would go to the end of the earth as long as her best friend is with her.
Deciding she was going to do it even if Victoria objected, "I'm coming with you" announced Laura.
This cause Victoria to stop laughing and gave Laura a weird look and asked, "You do know that he's going be in the area I'm moving to, right?."
Laura was freaking out, she did not know this small piece of information, she'd never thought that she was going to see him ever again, well at least that was what she was hoping for after all she moved away because of him and his infidelity.
The hurt was still there when she reminisced about what they had together. He was the first guy she trusted, and he broke her.
Shutting the hurtful memories, she gave Victoria a megawatt smile and replied truthfully, "No, I didn't, but that cheating asshole will not cause my best friend and I being separated, only death can do that."
Victoria smiled happily and pulled Laura into a bone-crushing hug, she was proud to call this woman her best friend and was grateful to have her in her life, before she knew it she was sniffling causing Laura to pull away from the embrace and to look at her in concern.
"For heaven's sake, we can't even have a moment without you ruining it," she said in frustration then sighed, "What' wrong now?" she asked.
" Nothing, It's just that -, I love you and very grateful to have you in my life" answered Victoria as she continues to sniffle and this caused Laura to tear up and cast Victoria a teary smile.
"Ditto" they both laugh and embraced each other and shouted together while throwing their hands in the air, "I love you to the moon and back, Latoria forever."
They both smiled happily at each other asking themselves how did they acquire such an amazing friend.
Victoria nervously fiddled with her fingers, It was almost five months since she got pregnant, five months since she hid it from Laura.
Laura noticed the belly earlier but Laura being Laura scold her for eating a lot of unhealthy foods thinking it was food belly.
'"Laurs" she called and was gifted with an 'hmmm' sound from Laura.
"I'm pregnant" she announced saw Laura jumped off the couch screaming.
"Finally! because I'm pregnant too."
Victoria apologized for not telling about her being pregnant before pausing and asking.
"Wait... What?"
