The vibe felt different when I woke up. I could almost hear my brother say new things are going to happen, be prepared. The last month had to be the toughest but I'm so grateful for my friends. Mom and dad had gone on a vacation to Spain and they would have taken me but I had school and missing school was a big no for my parents. So, I'm spending 3 weeks in Grays house since he lives a block away from my house and his parents are quite close to mine. I heard a knock on my door making me snap out of my daze. I got the best room in the house since they're too kind and the view was remarkable. I could hear the birds chirping like I was in some fairy-tale. Gray strolled in lazily rubbing his eyes ' sleeping beauty we're leaving in 15' he said before going out.
I nodded before climbing out of bed. I went into my half-filled closet and picked out a pair of black jeans and a white top with an olive bomber jacket and some shoes. I changed quickly before throwing my hair in a bun and wearing the locket which Caleb gave me. I grabbed my bag before running down the stairs. I could hear a lot of noises signaling the entire squad is here. The smell of waffles wafted through the kitchen. 'Maddie ' Justin yelled. There was a steaming plate of waffles with blueberries and whipped cream kept for me 'eat-up' Keira said sliding the plate. I looked around and didn't find Scarlett and Blake 'where are the other two, I haven't seen Blake in almost a month ' I asked eating. Scarlett went to school something about an assignment while Blake well pick him up on the way' Justin said eating.
We ate hurriedly since we were already late 'this is what happens when you're with friends' Keira grumbled under her breath. She was the most studious of us all. 'Okay let's go' Gray said grabbing his keys. Justin dragged me to his car. He blasted music making me flinch and received a glare from me. Midnight played on the speaker making me take a deep breath 'Liam Payne just hits different' Justin whispered to himself while we stopped in front of Blakes's house. I got out ready to run when Keira held my hand 'he just came back so I'm pretty sure he hasn't eaten stop on the way we're going ' she said running back to Grays's car. Justin banged on the door. His mom opened the door with flour on her hands oh it's you kids sorry I already started baking' she said laughing. I ran up the stairs and was toppled over by Bruno, his dog who kept licking my hand. He let go of me the second he saw Justin 'Im everyone's favorite' Justin mumbled making me scoff. I took a picture because it was a really cute sight.
I barged into Blake's room to find him putting on his varsity jacket looking like a jock. I threw my hands around him taking him by surprise 'whoa someone missed me ' he said laughing as he patted my back. Justin came hugging us both tightly making me groan 'okay can't breath' I yelled whacking his head before he let go. We told Blakes mom goodbye before we got in the car. We had to make a pitstop at Starbucks to comply with what Keira had said.
Justin was the joker and Blake the popular boy who everyone liked and Grayson believe it or not was the mysterious or bad boy. Keira was your girly girl and Scarlett was the exact opposite and I was a mix of everything, I think. We got Blake an egg breakfast sandwich and a croissant and 6 Frappuccinos for all of us 'you do realize that Gray hates this right 'Blake asked paying for it. I shrugged not caring.
We reached our school in 10 minutes. For the first time, our school looked nice and calm, everyone hugging their friends. Chloe waved at me with a smile on her face shocking everyone. I waved back with an unsure look on her face. 'didn't she hates you ' Gray said frowning at the drink in my hand 'hey finally you'll arrive 'Scarlett said and I hugged her. We walked towards our class all laughing and Justin tripping twice. The third time he tripped he landed straight on the floor making our entire school burst out laughing. A smile came on my face as Justin groaned. My eyes scanned the entire crowd all happy and laughing. I met Blakes's eyes and I could see the worry in them, I gave him a look which said well talk about it later. Grayson gave me a wink and I was off to my English class with a tired Scarlett who was almost asleep. We didn't exactly do anything just introductions even though we knew most people so I spent most of the period deep in thought, Scarlett was deep asleep.
It had been 4 periods and I was becoming cranky luckily, we had lunch next. Blake accompanied me towards the cafeteria 'Im sorry for not being there' he whispered making me freeze. I figured he would apologize 'Blake it's fine, I survived and I have Justin to cheer me up would you chill out ' I said as we reached our cafeteria. It honestly was your cliché, popular kids in the middle while everyone surrounded it. And there were 2 groups of popular kids and unfortunately, we belonged to one of that. Beings friends with the boys get your popularity up. But we could honestly care less.
I sat down and waited for the rest to come. My stomach grumbled and just on time, Gray slid a tray towards me. Pizza and fries with soda, your normal unhealthy lunch. Keira came in with a salad and the boys with a burger while Scarlett was so full since she had a free period before and had already eaten. We were quiet for a while all focusing on our food before Justin burst out laughing out of nowhere startling the entire student body and attracting all the attraction 'dude are you fine' I asked laughing. 'yeah it was getting so awkward' he said and Blake rolled his eyes before he started talking loudly.
Gray let out a laugh before we divulged into a conversation about if tomato was a vegetable or fruit asked by yours truly Justin, a Boxing conversation from Scarlett, and sports from the boys while Keira was busy shopping. I leaned closer to Keira resting my head on her shoulder as I peeked at her phone 'why are you in the men's section' I asked. She told me to hush 'its Gray's birthday on monday' she said. I sat up straight before whipping out my phone. Craning my neck was too hard. I knew exactly what he needed, signed jerseys from his favorite sports team but where was I going to get that from. Blake's eyes widened before I got a text from him. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He had texted that we should get him a bike. 'so, we weren't quiet at all 'I said and received a slap from Keira on my hand 'that isn't a bad idea ' Keira said.
