Chereads / Or So I Thought / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

All three of us are walking side by side. We're on our way to Hunter's cabin. The boy's and girl's cabins are separated. But the boys are allowed to visit the girl's cabin, however, only until 8PM and vice versa.

Hunter decided to invite us to his cabin and help him fix his things first before we go to our own cabin. He figured that it would be better to fix our things together.

"Hunter, why don't we do our things first? Lady's first." Lory said to Hunter. Lory really wants to get her things fixed as soon as possible. She's very choleric.

"Because Lory my dear, if I take you to your cabin and help you first, there is a huge possibility that you won't help me fix my things after. I'm not willing to gamble that." He said coolly as if he was so sure that we'd betray him afterwards.

"Excuse me Hunter, but we've been friends since we were kids and I'm pretty sure that you've already guessed by now that we don't leave our friends hanging!" I defended.

He chuckled. "Oh I don't have to guess. I know that. But I'm just making sure. How do you think our businesses our successful? Because our parents did not take any chances." Lory and I just rolled our eyes.

"You are such a businessman." I rolled my eyes.

"Of course. I'm saving for us." He smiled at me sheepishly.

"Why? Do you plan on spending all of your riches on me and Lory?" I asked pointing at me and Lory.

Lory and Hunter exchanged glances and they both just smiled at me. "Hey Nics, we're here. Stop arguing with Hunter already. You know he never loses and arguement." She took my arm and pulled me inside the lounge area.

"This way maladies." Hunter showed us the way as if he is a receptionist. I just shook my head. He is so weird.

Hunter's cabin is in 8th floor. He said he has a roommate but he haven't met the guy just yet so he doesn't know him either. When we entered his cabin, I was amazed. It looks so clean and manly. It's not too much. It's aesthetically pleasing and simple.

There are two doorknobs on the left side, probably indicating that there are two rooms. Hunter went to one of the doors and picked up a sticky note. He read it aloud. "Sup, bro! I went out for a while so you're all alone for now. This is your room by the way. Mine's just beside yours. Ranier." He showed us the note. "Well, I guess my cabin mate's name is Ranier?"

I immediately looked at Lory. We exchanged meaningful glances. I mouthed, "It can't be him right?" She flashed me a small smile and mouthed, "Probably not." She shook her head and held my hand reassuringly.

Hunter probably noticed what Lory and I were doing but he didn't ask questions. He understands that if we want to share these things to him, we will. Maybe not now, but we will. He just gave us a small smile and nodded his head.

"So, let's start cleaning up, so we can head to your cabin early, ladies." And we all started fixing Hunter's things. There's not much to fix in his cabin actually. The dining is already clean. Same with the kitchen. It's just his room and his room was well placed. The bed's already fixed. He just needs to settle his closet and his other stuffs. He's a guy so he doesn't spend much time with room decor.

After a while, we were done getting his things fixed. It didn't really take long. Just around 20 minutes since there's three of us working together. I gave them both a smile.

"Let's go?" I asked. They both nodded their heads and we made our way out of Hunter's cabin. We took the elevator and left the residence of the boys. We passed by a grocery store. I was feeling hungry and I had the feeling that we'll need to store up our kitchen. Unlike Hunter, his kitchen is already filled with food.

"Hey, I think maybe we should do some groceries first. I don't think we have stocks in our cabin since Lory and I just got here." I casually told them. Lory realized that I was right so we pulled Hunter along with us to the grocery.

I pulled a big cart and looked at Hunter. He looked at me and he probably understood what I meant because he got the cart from my hand and he began pushing the cart wherever we would go. We went to the vegetable section first. I'm not a vegetarian. But I love veggies so much. These two find it disgusting but they eat it when I make the food. They said I make it taste like meat, if that is even possible.

Next, we went to the meat section. We didn't get any fish because we all don't like fish. Fish bones hurt! One time, I had its bone stuck in my throat for a week and I struggled so much because of it. I made a vow never to eat fish again. It was traumatizing.

We just bought more stuffs and other supplies for the cabin. Until we found ourselves in the appliances section. We are looking for plants and other decorative stuffs.

"You girls just don't know how to live with a few things." Hunter made a comment that made him earn a look of unbelief from both Lory and me.

"Hey! We're minimalist here." Lory defended. Hunter looked at the both of incredulously.

"Are you sure that's minimal? I'm carrying two carts. The other one is for food and the neccessary stuffs while the other one is filled with your decorative stuffs. The neccessary items aren't even as many as your decors." He smirked.

"Whatever Hunter. You just don't have the proper sense of taste." He was about to protest when I turned my back on him indicating that the case is closed. I just heard him release a deep breath. Even with my back against him, I can only imagine what he looks like right now. I chuckled.

We left the grocery with Hunter pushing the cart which contains everything we bought. Hunter couldn't carry all of them so we asked for a favor from the store if we could borrow a cart. They agreed as long as it will be returned later.

We entered the lobby of the girl's residences. I actually have no idea where our cabin floor is, neither does Lory. So we had to approach the reception about it. We are on the 7th floor, third cabin. We thanked the lady and proceeded to go to our cabin. I'm excited. I was beaming the entire time that we were on our way to our cabin.

"Someone's excited." Lory commented. I just gave her a grin. I've never lived away from my parents before. I've always wanted to experience independence from my family. Don't get me wrong. I love my family. But I want to live in solace and peace. Back in our house, I know my parents love me, but they just doesn't show it the way it's shown by the other parents you know?

I may not be living alone, and I'm living with Lory, but that's a good start. Atleast, I am with someone who understands and knows me well. Someone who doesn't judge me for the one mistake I make, corrects me gently and encourages me to be better.
