Each of the groups seemed to split off a bit to have a bit of privacy. Dirk's group seemed to already be heading off to explore. Zane's group seemed very nervous around Zane.
Rank didn't really care about the other groups though. He cared about his group. The people in front of him.
"So I've already introduced myself a few times. I took note of your individual abilities earlier, but for the sake of formalities would you mind repeating it." Rank addressed his motley crew.
"Weapon crafting. You've already seen it in action." Tark gestured at the dagger rank held by his side.
"Monster sense. I can project the position of nearby monsters to my allies." Myst followed Tark's lead. Rank barely knew her from school, but he knew Tark had quite a crush on her.
"Darkwater magic. It says it's a hybrid form of magic." Dane continued from her. "I have no idea how it works."
"And that leaves me, I have Reader, it let's me see the status of others." Yun finished it off.
Rank silently thought for a second before something snapped at him. Literally.
"Ah, this here's Kodo. He apparently has fire magic and regeneration abilities. Very weak ones though."
Kodo weaved through the other's legs with great energy, which seemed to make them all uncomfortable. Getting attacked by and seeing piles of lizard corpses isn't exactly an experience you recover from in a few minutes. Or even a few hours for that matter.
"Okay. We need a plan of attack. From what I remember of your abilities' explanations...we aren't very suited for combat. What we can do however is prepare, scout, assess, restrict and hopefully avoid." Rank's mind was working overtime. Rank took a few minutes to explain their formation.
Rank and Kodo will take point while Myst periodically checks for nearby threats. Should a monster be found Kodo will scout a safe path. If one cannot be found Yun will assess the strength of a creature. If the monster is not too strong, Rank and Kodo will take it down. Dane is to try and figure out his ability. Any spoils of battle goes to Tark for equipment. If the monster is too strong Kodo will draw its attention away and act as bait.
"Efficiency is key. We're not exactly built for combat, but as it stands we should not have any issues we can't handle." Rank concluded. He then pointed out towards a dense forrest. "We'll take the forest over there, I don't trust any other group to come back from that. Skill wise we're the sensory unit."
From what Rank could tell it was still morning. They would have more than enough time to start charting the forest and return safely. Rank glanced over at some of the other teams.
Gryf's team seemed pretty pumped up to start exploring a nearby cave. Zane and his team were just casually walking towards a nearby mountain.
Rank couldn't help but feel weird as he saw his former classmates all taking the transfer to a new world so casually. They almost seemed happy.
Rank also noticed something strange. Fae's group searched around the monster nests they had spawned in at. He was sure she would want to explore the world after her grand declaration that she would find a way back home.
He decided to write it off as not really meaning anything.
After that, his team set out to explore the forest.
