Sayuri winked at Chrom as she passed him, she took orders from customers. Chrom, confused, kept working. Jennifer noticed a puzzled look as he did. Jennifer tapped his shoulder and asked if something was bothering him. Chrom shook his head and kept working. Jennifer nodded as she heads back to the coffee maker. Sayuri watched them from the corner of the room with a smile filled with joy. Chrom took off his apron before being congrats for a Successful first day of work; Chrom tail could not stop wagging from the praise. Sayuri's smile kept plastered on her face as she enjoyed the scene. Jennifer stopped in her sentence and noticed the Sayuri's silence.
"You been awful silence this entire day of work, Sayuri. Will you like to explain? Your not this quiet normally." Jennifer asked.
"Don't worry about me; I was very focused on my work." Sayuri smiled.
Chrom stared at the girl as she left the room. Jennifer gave out a sigh and turned to Chrom.
"Thanks for coming today on short notice. Akane was off to visit someplace; she did not bother to say where she was going. She will be back in 2 weeks."Jennifer stated.
"I understand, so same time every day?" Chrom asked.
"No, We need you to come early to help set the chairs down from the tables, As well as make sure we stock up on baked goods from the Bakery nearby, "Jennifer stated.
"Gotcha, I will be here at five," Chrom said.
"Make sure you knock on the back door." Jennifer pointed out.
"Back door, can you show me where it is?" Chrom asked.
Jennifer nodded as she walked out of the cafe with Chrom following behind her. We walked around the restaurant to the back of the building. The restaurant was an old cafe building that looked new from the inside, but Chrom wondered how old the building is from looks alone. Chrom's mind starts to show a glimpse of old memories, he has seen a building like this once, but he could not think up. As they reach the back of the building, Jennifer opened the metal door to check for something. Chrom looked around the place and spotted a window, where vines have grown up to the window above. Chrom tilted his head as he started at the vines, wondering if the vines have grown inside the cracks of the building. Jennifer presented the door to Chrom, letting him get used to the sight of the back of the cafe.
"When you need to get inside, Use this key." Jennifer handed a key to Chrom.
Chrom held the warm key in his hand as he pulled out his key ring. He started to attach the access to the ring, joining his house keys.
"I will see you tomorrow in the morning." Jennifer addressed.
Chrom nodded. "See you tomorrow."
They both wave as they went their merry ways; Jennifer went inside the cafe. Chrom walked in the dark, heading home. Chrom held his keys in his back pocket of his pants. He pulled them out to feel the rigged edges. The moonlight slowly was covered by clouds making Chrom blind. Chrom kept walking in the dark, hoping he makes it home. The leaves crunch with each step he takes. Chrom almost tripped from trees roots growing out of the ground. Chrom placed his keys in his pocket and stretched his arms in front of him, feeling around. Chrom touched the trees' bark and metal poles. Chrom kept walked blindly in the dark until the sound of rushing washing starts to grow louder. Chrom followed the sound until he reached a waterfall. The moonlight have formed to past through the clouds to display the waterfall. In the middle of the lake, the waterfall fell on a small island that can only be reached by swimming. Chrom places his hands in the water. The water cold able to bring Chrom to goosebumps on his skin. Chrom took his hands out of the water and shook them off. He walks the edge where the water and land meet. He pulled out his phone and took a picture. Chrom looked at the photo then back at the waterfall. He shrugged it off as he went back to the depth of the forest. Chrom kept walking through the forest, till a tough popped in his head.
"I am an idiot. I forgot I had my phone on me; I could have used the flashlight in the first place. Though I can't say meeting that waterfall was not a mistake."Chrom wondered.
Chrom brought the image of the waterfall in his head questioning.
"It seems this place was calling for me, calling me. I have never been here, but why does this town seem to answer my questions. Who am I here? Who was I? " Chrom thought.
Chrom let the question linger in his mind; the answer would not come to him. Chrom shocks the idea out of his mind and kept walking, focused on the question. The answers that he came up with did not satisfy him. The question that burned in his mind was, What was my past? Chrom have struggled with the thought of being a blank slate with no past; he wanted to uncover his past. He wanted to who he use to be. He wanted to remember touses that he lost. Chrom never liked the thought of losing part of himself; he rather understands why he is here in the present. Though Chrom knows the more he uncovers, the more painful memories start to flood his mind. Chrom just wanted to know more about himself.
Chrom heard footsteps behind him, As he turned to see Cheren running behind him. Cheren stopped in front of Chrom, catching his breath.
"Chrom, where were you? I started to get worried when you were not back at home,? Cheren panted.
"Sorry, the moonlight disappears behind some cloud, and I got a lost in the middle of the forest. I was an idiot as well, cause I remembered my phone in a bad time. Chrom explained.
"At least you are not hurt or got into trouble" Cheren stated.
Chrom smiled as he pulled out his phone to show him the photo he has taken. Cheren stared at the photo, puzzled.
"What's wrong?" Chrom asked.
"The picture is hard to see, Chrom. "Cheren stated.
Chrom looked at the photo, a dark photo of the waterfall lay before Chrom's eyes. Cheren watch as Chrom turned white.
"We can try to come back to it in the daytime. Phone cameras don't take good pictures at night." Cheren advised.
