Woojin stepped outside dramatically, the door banging against the walls, only to be greeted by an empty hallway. His face flushed, growing increasingly red because of his embarrassment.
'Ah, why was I so worked up?' He shook his head, crouching in shame. 'No! You can do this!' Woobin encouraged himself. Slowly getting up, he mustered the last amounts of courage he had before straightening his posture. He walked around the hallways for a while before spotting two maids in the distance. A taller one was guiding the smaller maid, pointing at things as if instructing her.
'She must be new.' Woojin thought to himself.
He walked up to them, and the two maids flinched before turning to his direction.
"Where is the head maid?" Woojin asked in the regalist way he could muster.
"..She's in the kitchen." The taller one replied, hostility evident in her voice.
Woojin only nodded in their direction before the two maids scurried away, the taller one intentionally bumping into his shoulder. Thinking back to his memories, their attitude was probably because of him being 'defective'. Woojin sighed and faced the ceiling.
'What does that even mean?' he frowned. Woojin then resumed walking and eventually reached the door leading to the kitchen.
He stood silently at the entrance. He slowly exhaled before bursting through the doors. Maids and chefs that were chattering stopped immediately, facing the Lord of the household.
"What." Woojin started, voice cold and apathetic. "Do you THINK you guys are doing here." he snarled. An older woman with a messy bun dressed in a maid outfit walked forward, grasping onto a clipboard.
"What has brought you here? Lord Woobin." The bony woman asked in a clipped tone.
'Ah, I forgot that in this world they call me Woobin.' Woojin thought to himself. Schooling his expression, he formed his lips into a thin line, before glaring at the woman. She flinched, taken aback.
"Are you the head maid?" Woojin asked carefully. The woman snorted quietly and sneered at Woojin.
"Yes, I am."
"Then you are held responsible for what the others who serve this estate do. Where were the servants that were supposed to assist me this morning?" he growled.
"I forgot to assign them." The Head Maid responded.
"You forgot?" he questioned threateningly. According to the memories he had looked through, all the servants were paid with a generous sum of money. Reviewing old knowledge, 10 pieces of gold were almost equivalent to ₩150,000. (Almost 130K in USD) Each maid was paid that very amount each week. A newfound fury nestled itself in Woojin.
In his other world, he barely made enough money to stay alive. So what were these people doing? What had the original OWNER been doing!?
The atmosphere in the room became heavy, and others whispered amongst each other. He took a deep breath. 'I won't be able to fire her right away, seeing as I'm not a very prominent figure in society.' Woojin clenched his fists, trying to control his anger. 'For now, I need to fix my damaged reputation. Then I can think about doing such things.'
The Head Maid paused, before turning and walking away haughtily.
'Damnit. I might break that resolution earlier than I expected.'
"YOU STOP RIGHT THERE!" Woojin bellowed. The Head Maid paused. "Where do you think you're going?" his voice dropped dangerously low.
