CHAPTER 0
"Only the strong will survive."
This is the phrase that dominates our society. I've heard it so many times that i'm starting to get bored of it. And to someone like me, weak and powerless, just thinking about everyone's faces when the weakest one wins makes me crack a smile.
The weaker cower in fear as the strongest live with not a single care in this prejudiced world. It's not fair, and the fact that this is the world that I live in, annoys me.
SLAM!
My teacher, a middle aged man with greying hair, slams his palm on my desk. Here we go again.
"Just because your mother is on the Japan national team doesn't let you sleep in my class Mr. Ignis. You're far from strong enough to get away with it."
My head instinctively lowers itself, as my glare shifts to my feet. Of course I get singled out. Of course I get told off, even when literally half the class is doing the exact same thing that I am. It's always me.
My internal ramblings are cut short as my teacher calls my name once more. "Sorry sensei, it won't happen again."
"Make sure that it doesn't." Came the reply.
The voice that i'm becoming all too familiar with kicks in.
"You have the power. Why don't you show them. Show them your true strength"
