Chapter 7 - Kids

It is six in the evening, and I am walking down the road with Seven. I really didn't have any plan to wait until his shift is over, but Vene and Yuna took their time to interview him which is totally not necessary. Now, he and I are on our way to twins' school before heading home altogether.

"I'm really sorry for my friends," I decided to break the silence. "They can both be annoying at certain times.. I apologize for that."

Sev wags a hand in my face as he smiles. "No worries, they're fun. I like them.."

Hearing that, I feel relieved. I was scared that they might have scared him off, and wish he'd never see them again. I'm glad that it was the opposite..

"I didn't think that I was the first man you ever made friends with.." Seven chuckled. "You have problems with men? Perhaps.. you've been hurt?"

I shook my head aggressively. "It's not that.. I just am not good with talking to other people."

"Deither is also a friend, right?"

"Eh? Well.. he's my teacher," I answered.

"And a friend," I looked at him and he gave a reassuring smile. "You've overcome your fear, Sanara. Good job."

I blushed, turning away from him and swallowed a lump in my throat. Is this what Vene felt when she confessed to her now boyfriend?

"Sana! Sana!"

Sav came running towards me and Seven.

"Hey, how's school today?"

"It was fine," she smiled up to me. "What about you? How was your day?"

"It was good, I met with Yuna and Vene and now, with Seven. He's decided to come along so to try and get close to you guys."

"Hello!" Yves waved politely at him with an adorable smile. "Good evening! We are forever thankful to you, sir!"

Seven chuckled, ruffling Yves' soft dark brown hair and shaking his head. "No worries, man. I'm glad to help."

"Now let's go home," I suggested, taking Sav's hand in mine as we started strolling along. "I still have to make dinner for all of us."

"Ooh! What are we having tonight?"

"Let me see.. hm, curry?"

Yves groaned loudly. "We've had that just yesterday!"

I laughed. "Okay boss.. tell me what you want.."

I ended up cooking curry as we don't have that much food stocked in the fridge. I need to go to the market tomorrow for groceries. Haha.. Yves had eaten his dinner with a dull face. He had no trouble with the taste as I think that it was really good and cooked well, however, we really did have it yesterday night and he wanted to eat some burger steak for tonight.

"Tomorrow, I promise," I blurted. "I'll go to the market to buy some groceries, and I'll cook you two burger steaks."

"Really?" Sav and Yves' faces beamed, hands in the form of fists as they looked up to me.

"Yes, twins. So come on.. wash up and go to bed. You have school tomorrow, don't stay up late."

Sav slowly walked near the sink, where I stand to wash the dishes, she handed me the cloth she used to clean the dining table. "You know Sana.."

"Yes?"

"My room is too big.. I'm not used to it." She whispers.

"Too big?" She nodded. "Don't you like it? You've always wanted to have your own room..."

"Yeah well, we've always been in the same room.. us three, so.. it felt so new to me. But I know that I'm going to get used to it.. I just wanted you to know how I feel," she assured me with a smile and I felt relieved. I thought that she didn't like our new home.

"Thank you for letting me know, Sav, you've kept the promise to never hide anything from your sister."

"Of course, since mom and dad died.. you've always been the one there for me and Sylvester. You haven't even tried relying on the two of us.. you never shed any tear."

I smiled. "Go to bed, Savannah."

"Good night, Sana," she gave me one last smile before hopping on the way to her bedroom. Waving at me as she disappeared from the kitchen.

That's right.. Savannah and Sylvester were too young when mom and died died in a plane crash. I was the only family they have, and they are my only family left. Their death left a big scar in my heart that I couldn't even cry. It pained me to see my own parents lying in front of us, inside their coffins. It was like a stab to the heart. From that day on, I've devoted my whole life to my siblings. Until today.

A knock was heard against the door frame as I quickly turned around to check who it is- Seven.

"You looked like you were in deep thought," he crossed his arms and leaned his back against the wall. "Were you thinking about something?"

"Yeah," I shrugged. "The past.. I was thinking about my parents' dea-"

"Your cooking was delicious," he interrupted me and I looked at him. "It has been a long time since I've tasted real food. All I have been eating are either from the stores or instant noodles. To have you cook food for me, is truly an honor."

I chuckled. "What are you saying? It was my pleasure to cook for you. You gave me and the twins a place to live. It is normal for us to feel indebted to you."

"Tomorrow," he suddenly sounded serious and I stopped from doing the dishes to look at him. "I'll be teaching in your highschool."

"Eh?"

"English teacher," he smiles.

"What?"

"But I'll still be working at the kindergarten, only on weekends. Since the school is also a daycare for children."

"When did you decide this?" I asked.

"The other day," he answered and slowly walked near me. "You had got me thinking when you said that I should be teaching high school."

"Then, would you happen to be my teacher?"

"In English," he smirked. "Yes."

My heart started to race, blood rushing all over my face. I'm afraid that right now, I am looking beet red. I really want to jump for he will be my teacher, we will see each other at school every single day. I know we live in the same house, but to see Seven in a formal attire..? Polo shirt.. black slacks.. and a logbook in his hands.. what a sight!

"Sana? Sanara!" Seven snapped his fingers in front of my face and I came back to my senses.

"Eh wh-what?" I nervously replied, hands on my chest and eyes looking at his.

"You were zoning out," he laughed. "You forgot to turn off the water, now-" he pointed his finger to my back as I immediately spun myself around to see.

"Ah! Oh my gosh...! What am I doing?! I apologize for being a klutz..!" I screamed, twisting the knob as fast as I can and running my hands through my hair.

"Yeah you are," Seven muttered. "Now you have dishwashing soap all over your hair."

Looking down to my hands with gloves, I deeply groaned and rolled my eyes. How can I be even more stupid? To actually space out because my crush would be teaching at my school and now, make a total fool of myself in front of him?! Sanara.. how can you ever make Seven fall in love with you when you are like this?

Suddenly, a towel was thrown on top of my head. A smiling Seven Aris appears on my face as he gently wiped the soap and bubbles from my face.

"Kids can be really messy," he giggled softly.

I blushed, taking a step back as his sentence sinks into me.

Kid?

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"Eh? Ah ye-yes.. I'm okay.."

"Are you sure?" He sounded worried and confused. We were having a fun talk and all of a sudden, the atmosphere changed into something like this.

"Of course," I blurted. "You can go to bed, I'll take care of the kitchen.."

Seven, confused but did not question my actions anymore, turned himself around and slowly walked out of the dining area. With a sigh, I leaned against the sink. I couldn't breathe normally then.. maybe it was because of what he told me.

Kids can be really messy.
