-Miles' POV-
I had failed my mission. I didn't know for sure what was going to happen to me next, but I knew my boss wouldn't be too happy. It couldn't really have been those gems that caused my defeat… or could they really have done so? I honestly thought it was just a myth.
Right now, I'm at my base. Rock walls and floors make up the place. There are a few pits of fire too. I was walking down one of its long hallways, afraid of what might happen next. I reached a silver door with a red knob which I turned before going inside. A man was in there, who happens to be my superior. He was a tall man with light brown hair, a bit of stubble around his chin and red eyes.
"You failed." he said.
"I know… I'm sorry." I answered, "I didn't think they would be that strong."
"You were unable to prevent them from collecting those gems." added my boss.
"I didn't think-" I started.
He turned around I could see a little fire in his eyes. I started to back up a little.
"Those gems gave them power!" he said, sounding a bit frustrated, "And you screwed this up!"
"I know… I'm sorry."
"Stop apologizing. I'm giving you another chance."
"Another chance?"
"It's not over yet. There's still more to be done."
"Like what?"
"When I'm ready to begin my next plan, I'll tell you the details."
"Understood, sir."
"When we do get there… if you screw up, a harsh penalty awaits you."
"But I don't want to go to hell!"
"You're already there!"
"Heh… I promise… I'll… I won't let you down this time!"
"If you fail again, welcome to hell. Well, the most painful part of it."
"Y-yes, sir!" I responded.
I hurried out of the room and began preparing myself as I waited for details on whatever the new plan was going to be. I swore that I was going to win. No gem would be able to stop me and all I could do was hope I wouldn't screw up and lead everyone to our base or something stupid like that.
