It was barely past dawn yet Katherine was already seated in the carriage waiting for Lucian to join her so they could start their journey. She held back a slight yawn as she looked out the carriage window and took a peek at Lucian who was currently speaking with the Killian, Michael and Alexander.
"I will be gone for several days, I am sure you will be able to handle managing the officials until my return," Lucian said his words to Killian as he glanced at the carriage.
"Yes, Milord, safe journey," Killian bowed towards Lucian then towards Michael and Alexander before heading over to Elliot who was speaking with the guardsmen. On his way there, Killian had caught sight of Katherine staring through the carriage window and he smiled warmly at her to which she reciprocated. He was one of the few who knew her true identity, but to avoid suspicion, the two hadn't spoken since her initial arrival at the castle.
