Lucian had remained awake throughout the night, due to what he was, he barely needed hours of sleep. He had already told the coachmen to prepare for their travel this morning.
Lucian stood shirtless as he lit a cigar and inhaled the air sharply and closed his eyes just as the smoke reached his lungs before breathing out slowly.
He stood at the edge of the balcony unaware of the change in his eye colour from dark red to a deep golden brown. Though his wolf had been dormant for many years, the Elder he spoke to had called it a surge. A last burst of energy in an attempt to find the one thing that could keep his wolf alive, a mate.
The Elder wasn't sure if the death of his wolf side would also mean Lucian's death. It was unknown and untested as vampire-werewolf hybrids never lived this long.
