I've finished packing my luggage last night only. My flight back to South Korea is at 8am.
I've got up early today, so that I don't be late and miss my flight. My brother is going to drop me to the airport, although my mom also wanted to come, but I refused her. I didn't wanted to bother her.
Since the day, I've quarreled with my dad, I haven't talked to him nor I've seen him much.
"Mom, isn't dad going to say goodbye to me", I asked my mom, as I ate the breakfast she prepared for me.
"I don't know dear", she replied, looking at me sadly.
"Oh I see", after that, I didn't bother with it much.
I finished my breakfast quickly and went inside my room to see if I've left anything out.
I looked inside my bag, my passport, phone and other important things were inside it.
I grabbed my bag and my coat and left.
When I got outside in the living room, I saw my mom standing there looking at me, tears in her eyes, she gave me a sad smile.
I went forward and stood in front of her.
"Take care of yourself dear and don't eat too much junk food, it's bad for your health", my mom said, caressing my cheeks.
"Yes mom, I understand", I replied softly.
"Don't forget to call me, when you reach there", she said.
"Mmm", I didn't knew, what I should say at this moment. I was at a loss for words.
As I was thinking what should I say to my mom before I leave, she suddenly hugged me.
I heard her sobbing and wrapped my arms tightly around her. We stayed like that for a long time.
"Sis, are you ready??", my brother's voice made my mom and me come back to earth.
"Yeah", I replied breaking the hug.
I picked up my bag and went towards the door.
"Esha!!".
As I was about to exit the house, I heard my dad's voice. I stopped and turned around to see.
I saw my dad standing beside mom, looking at me.
"What is it dad!?", I asked.
"Are you really leaving??", he asked, I could sense a bit of sadness in his voice and that made me also sad.
"Yeah", I replied in a soft voice.
"Is it because of what I said to you the other day??", he asked looking down.
"No, my department have came across an important case and as the head of the department, I've to be present there", I replied.
"Is the case that important??".
"Yes".
After that, a silence fell in the room.
"I should get going now", I said breaking the silence, as I turned around to leave.
"Wait!", dad called out and I paused on my steps.
I didn't turn around this time. I could hear my dad making this way towards me and stopped a few inches away from me.
"Dear, I know that I was wrong and that I shouldn't have said those harsh words to you, but you've to understand that dad doesn't want to see you sad and depressed. I just wanted you to be happy and live your life nicely. I didn't say anything when you said that wanted to go to South Korea because you got a nice job there. I didn't say anything when you were away from us for a whole year in a foreign country all by yourself".
"You don't know how much worried me and your mom become when we think that you're living alone there with no one to depend on. I know, that you've grown up and it's your right to choose what's good for you, but we can't help it. We just wanted you to start your own family and be happy. We are not saying that you should marry a boy we choose for you, if you have someone in mind you can tell us".
"Dear, we have seen how much you've suffered and we can't see you like this anymore. Our hearts pains when we see you like this, pretend to be happy but not happy, surrounded my everyone, but actually standing alone. What do you think that you stay far away from us, so we don't know about your sadness, don't forget that we're your parents", after he was done talking, I turned around.
I could see that he was crying and my heart pained to see that.
"Dad, I know you and mom worry about me very much, but please believe me, I'm happy like the way I'm right now. Maybe, sometimes I become depressed and sad, but it's completely fine. You guys know that how much I love him and even if I marry someone else I still can't forget him, I know my heart. I've tried to date many times, but all the time it was a disappointment. Dad, I'm not alone, I've you, mom, brother, Mai, Sreya and my two precious friends back there in Korea".
"I'm happy, when I'm there in Korea, that place fells like home to me. I've got used to my life. I know that, you both can't stop worrying about me, but you guys have to believe that I'm happy with my present life", I said and looked at my parents.
My dad let out a sigh.
"Ok then, if you say that you're happy then we believe you. You don't have to worry, your family have always supported you and we always will", dad said and gave me a smile.
"Thank you dad", I hugged dad tightly.
"It's ok, but don't forget to take care of yourself", he said patting my back.
"Yeah I will", I replied.
"Sis, we're getting late", my brother's voice came from outside.
"I'm coming", I said, as I broke from the hug.
"Dad, mom, I should get going now", I said looking at my parents.
"Yeah, take care of yourself", mom said.
"Don't forget to call us back when you reach safely", dad reminded me.
"Yeah, I will", I replied.
"Let's go. We'll see you off", mom said.
With that I picked up my back and made my way outside the house, my parents following behind me.
It reminded me of the first time when I was about to go to South Korea, I remember how much nervous I was back then, but still I smiled brightly as I was happy that my life long dream was going to become true.
I made my way towards my brother's car, he was already seated inside.
"C'mon sis, hurry up or else you're miss your flight", my brother said.
"Yeah, yeah", I said and got inside the car.
"Drive carefully on the road and be safe", mom said.
"Yeah, mom I know", my brother replied.
He locked the doors and started the engine.
"Bye mom, bye dad, you both take care of yourself", I said waving at them.
"Same goes for you also", mom replied.
"Yeah, love you both", I said.
"We love you too", dad replied.
With that we drove off. Well, it didn't take us much time to reach the airport.
"I'll see you off from here only, I've some work to do, so I've to leave early", my brother said as he took out my luggage from the backside of the car.
"It's ok", I replied and took my luggage from him.
"Bye sis, take care of yourself and don't forget to call me", my brother said.
"Yeah, you too take care of yourself and look after mom and dad also", I replied.
"Yeah I will".
I gave my brother a quick hug and went inside the airport.
I was glad that I was not late for the flight. I quickly checked-in and soon I was inside the plane and after sometime my flight took off and I was in the air.
I thought of taking a small nap, as it's going to be a long flight. I closed my eyes and started to think about all of those things that happened in this vacation.
How my family threw a surprise party for my returning home, how I got into a fierce fight with my dad on the forth day of my stay here, how I felt happy to see my best friends after a long time, how I was surprised to know that Sreya was pregnant and many other small things.
But the main thing is, I'm going back to South Korea and I'm actually happy about it.
As I was thinking that, I drove off to sleep.
