Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

My favourite song was playing at the background and my toes danced to and fro with its energetic rhythm and beat which my tensed mother loathed.

"Vaaannneeesssaaaa.," she shouted with a crackling sound at end.

No answer.

"Vaaanessa.," she shrieked with a sharp noise.

"Hmmmm.," I responded.

"Vanessa.," she said with a strict full stop.

"Yes.," I said with a calm voice.

She pulled blanket from my bed and I tried to apply the same opposite force. I rolled down and fell on the ground with a thrashing sound.

"Ahh.," I shouted from fatigue.

"All you do is sleep and play some songs.,"

"All we have to hear from you is blah blah.

And we don't even care about what they say 'cause its ya ya ya ya ya

Blah Blah."

I recited the lyrics. She disconnected the loudspeaker's wire.

"Mom..."

"Get lost.," she yelled.

I rolled my eyes and limped downstairs. I saw my annoying elder brother eating my favourite twisted stick.

"Hey that's mine, Alfred."

"It's mine now."

"You, son of a bitch.," I exclaimed.

"Mom's she's saying you bi......"

I closed his mouth with my right hand and my left hand smacked his head. I jumped at him.

"You are so heavy, Get off.," he teased.

"I am not heavy at all, dumbo. You are weak."

I snatched the twisted stick and ate the whole packet in one breath. He messed up with my hair and jumbled it up and down in rage.

"Stop it or I will kill you.," I said with an exasperated voice.

We fought, flinging every single piece that was visible to us.

"Stop.," Mother shouted in annoyance.

Her phone ranged and we continued fighting.

"I want a pin drop silence or both of you will be grounded for a month."

We folded our lips and cross eyed each other with extreme loathing and piercing eyes. My nose was surely red in fury.

My relationship with my brother was never a friendly one.

"Hello.," she uttered in sweetness.

"Yes, is this Vanessa Davies' mother?," she looked with a knife like eyes at me. I gulped a nervous lump forming in my neck.

"Ok sure, at 3:00 p.m."

She left the room without saying a word.

My brother laughed at me and smacked playfully at my back.

"What the fuck!!!"

"I hope you have not broken principal's window or stuck any chewing gum at class teacher's seat or not....," she said while driving the car.

"I have not done any sort of things like that.," I clarified.

"I hope so.,"

We reached at that boring school and directly entered in principal's room.

"Good afternoon, Sir Smith."

He just raised his hand and gave a signal to sit.

"Vanessa Davies.

Age: 17

Academic Performance: D minus

Behaviour: D," he presented a verbatim report.

My mom was gripping her hand tightly at her most expensive purse which she cared even more than peony in her garden.

I looked at the thick spectacle of my principal.

"Do you study?," he asked.

"Yes, sir.," I lied with my head down.

My mother glared at me with my false statement.

"I think she needs tuition teacher for chemistry."

"She got a perfect zero."

My mother was petrified as I did not disclosed my ghastly marks to her.

"I just wanted to warn you (he folded his arms with intense expression) that she can get Transfer Certificate if she continues this performance (nuisance that old man wanna say)."
