Chereads / MY ILL INNOCENCE / Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

I went upstairs and frustration glowed in my face. I checked my face at the mirror and arranged my wavy blonde hair.

"Vanessa.," my mother called.

I ignored her calls.

Someone (Alfred or my mom) knocked the door.

"Vanessa.," Alfred shouted knocking the door continously.

"F**k off!," I shouted.

"Aren't you hungry?," he asked.

"No.," I answered in an angered tone.

I slept for few hours after enduring the terror of Chemistry and the melodrama of my seriously dramatic mother.

I sprang up immediately as my phone continuously rang for five times, it was from unknown number.

"Hello, who is this?," I questioned.

"Edward Smith, your Chemistry tuition teacher."

"Oh sir, hello.," I sounded sugar coated.

"Tommorow, I may not be available at 10. So, I will take class sharp at 6, evening."

"Okay, sir.," I disconnected the call.

I checked the time at the clock. I had merely an hour to get ready for my date.

I straightened my wavy hair and chooses a black outfit to look sexy. I applied a few stroke of mascara and painted my lips with tuffy pink lipstick.

I took a purse placed at my study table.

I went downstairs and declared my mother that I wanted to hang out with Suzan.

"You are not going anywhere.," she said as soon as she saw me.

"I have not gone anywhere in this summer vacation.," I blackmailed.

"So, you are not going anywhere.," she urged.

"You can't be dominating all the time."

"You are not going.," she said strictly.

"I really want to go, you are making me sick all the time.," I cried.

"You are not going.," she uttered her final words.

"I... ," I broke into tears and sat on the ground like a cotton ball.

"Okay, so, where are you going?," she sympathized.

"I am going to cafe with Suzan.," I lied.

"Permission granted.," she said and handed me thirty dollars. "Come home before ten or you will be grounded".

I stuffed my purse with the given dollars and walked few blocks at the decided spot - 'Blueberry cafe'.

I gazed to and fro for the quest of my boyfriend, Andy. He was not there.

I ordered a regular coffee and a bun.

I contacted Andy. His phone number was not reachable.

A waitress brought the ordered coffee and smiled warmly at me and uttered, 'Have a nice day.' I returned a cozy smile to her.

I sipped the coffee and stuffed my mouth with bun.

I again contacted him but the number was currently busy.

I waited for half an hour. I glared at the couple sitting just at the next seat beside me. I again tried to call him for the final time.

His phone connected.

"Hello, Andrew." (I rarely called his real name).

"Hey, Sweetheart.," his words lightened me.

"Where are you?," I asked.

"I am....," he said and a familiar female voice giggled at the background. I grew suspicious.

"Who is that girl?," I interrupted with a strict voice.

"Ummm, my cousin Sharon."

"Stop lying.," the girl at the background interrupted.

"Shh Shh.," mummered Andrew.

"Who is that girl?," I gripped the phone tightly, my raged face grabbed the attention of love birds sitting next to me.

"Can we talk later?,"

I was silent.

"Hello.... hello hello...," he said.

"Who is that girl?," I repeated my question in a strict and stern voice.

He cleared his throat and disconnected the call.
