Maira couldn't believe her own eyes and for sometime, she thought that it was a dream. She heard that Unicorns are just in the fairy tales and that in real life nobody can see one.
When she once asked Taika about unicorns, he said there is a possibility of their existence on the earth but he also mentioned that the unicorns are not like any other animals and that they appear only to the pure souls who never harmed an innocent with the powers they posses.
Today when she faced the unicorn for the first time in her life, she felt very happy and she didn't know how to react in this situation. She's mesmerised and filled with an unknown joy inside that she couldn't even move at the moment.
After the brief gaze at her, Maira came out of the trance and composed herself to greet the Unicorn with a slight bow.
"Hello.. nice to meet you!" Maira greeted her.
"Pleasure is mine young lady" Unicorn replied softly..
Again maira got shocked at the very moment she heard the Unicorn greeting her back in the same tongue as hers. 'Alas! She knows my language' told herself, staring.
"Yes, I know your language young lady" Unicorn said, bringing Maira back from her thoughts.
Maira quickly composed herself and simply nodded her head.
"So, you are..?" asked, the Unicorn.
"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Maira Rathod, people call me Maira." she added.
"Maira.. nice name..! So, what is the purpose of your visit here?" Unicorn asked.
"Thank you. Well, we were passing by this forest and thought to rest here for a while" Maira said.
"We..? so are you accompanied by somebody else here?" Unicorn asked.
"Yes. I am", Maira answered.
"Okay then", Unicorn replied.
"May I know your name?" Maira asked hesitatingly.
"You want to know my name..? well.." Before she could complete, an arrow flew from the top of the hill and hit the unicorn. She fell, giving up a thud.
Suddenly the happy atmosphere changed, dark clouds occupied the sky and all the animals began to run for their lives and within a few seconds there were many arrows coming towards the unicorn which was lying on the ground. Before the arrows could reach her, they got stopped by a shield.
All the animals stopped and looked at the direction of the shield and the person who was protecting them from the rain of arrows. Before noticing what was happening, Maira used her shield power and shot back the arrows in the direction of the enemies who attacked them.
"Everyone! leave this place and hide somewhere, now!" Maira ordered the animals and all the animals dispersed from that place. Maira used her power and maintained the shield high until all the animals left to a safe place.
Maintaining her defensive state, Maira said, "Hey! you are coming with me. This place is not safe for you anymore. We don't know how many lowlifes are out there and we don't have time. so we better move quickly out of here".
After making sure that there were no arrows in the sky, Maira turned towards the unicorn as she didn't get any response from her and to her shock the unicorn fainted.
She remembered the medicine which Taika gave her to cure any injury. She took out the medicine from her pouch and carefully removed the arrow. Then she observed that those arrows are made out of wood. Keeping her questions to herself she opened the bottle and poured the medicine on the wound and like a miracle, the wound healed itself without any trace of an injury nor a scar on Unicorn's body.
A few minutes later, the unicorn came to her senses and stood on the ground and looked at maira with gratitude and calmness.
With his forelegs folded, the unicorn bent on her knees and said, "Thank you for saving me Maira".
Unicorn knows the possibilities that if she is taken by the enemies they will surely torture her and use her for their own selfish reasons. Despite being a very powerful animal she is aware of the cruel methods they will put her through, if they once captured her.
Owing to that subtle thanking gesture made by the unicorn, Maria nodded with a smile in her eyes.
"I feel so grateful for.. you saving my life and I deliberately want to grant you a wish. Please ask and I promise to give you that as far as it is in my capability" Unicorn offered to Maira, "a boon from a Unicorn is a great opportunity and yes if you want, you can ask for many powers, beauty, wealth and so on." she added.
"Well.. I don't have such kind of wishes but if possible will you do one little help for me" Maira asked.
"Yes, just ask.. Maira" the unicorn said.
"Will you please send a secret message to my parents in a way that there are no traces left behind that we are going to save them soon? " Maira asked with burning desire in her eyes.
Surprised by her wish, the unicorn said, "Sure that is simple and if there is anything more you want, go ahead and ask" offering a wish again.
Maira simply smiled and shook her head.
"Well that will be granted for sure Maira, before leaving the Earth I will personally inform them" Unicorn said.
"Thank you so much Unicorn," Maira said gratefully.
"You can call me by name Maira" Unicorn said and before Maira could say anything, "My name is Faith" she added.
"Faith..!" Maira whispered to herself.
