Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 - Where are you? (Fiona's POV)

"There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends." - Jane Austen

All my calls to Amelia went unanswered. I wanted to know if she would be able to pick me up, I was not in the mood to drive tonight.

I tried again. No, answer, I made sure I left a warning on her voicemail.

"Meilia, why aren't you answering my calls? If you dont call me back in thirty minutes, I'll murder you when I see you. Love you. Call me me back."

I called twice more, still no answer. I dialed Nya's number. She picked up on the fourth ring.

"Hey Fi, what's up?" She asked.

"Hey Ny, I've been trying to get through to Melia for the longest while now. All my calls went unanswered. Do you think you give her a call?" I asked.

"Sure thing babe. Let me call her and call you back." With that she hung up.

Five minutes later, she called back. Nervousness racking my body, tummy doing somersaults. A wave of fear washed over me. I knew something was wrong, I just didn't know what was wrong.

"Anything?" I asked.

"Well, it rang for about a second then cut off, maybe her battery died?"

"You know she wouldn't let it die, she practically attached to that thing, it's disgusting." I stated.

"I know, she always has it, she probably left it at work, you know she's forgetful at times." She responded.

"Even if she did, she would've gone back for it, it's after eight Nya. She should be calling us now to meet up."

"That's true. Let's stop by her apartment and check on her." Nya said.

As I got into my car, my phone rang, I looked down seeing Halley's name on the screen.

"Fi, Nya just called, she said you guys aren't hearing from Amelia?" She said in a state of panic.

Erica shouted out in the background. "We are at Craig's, what's going on? Nya called, she said we should meet up at Melia's."

I let out a sigh. "Yea, we've been trying to get through to her for a while now. I'm not sure what's going on, but something doesn't feel right. Let's meet up at her house. I'm now on my way. "

"Ok." They responded simultaneously.

"We are leaving now, Erica let's go." Halley said.

I hung up the phone, I had a bad feeling in my gut that something was wrong. She would've told me if something was wrong.

I placed my hand upon my tummy. I felt this overwhelming urge to protect my baby at all costs. That was a strange feeling to come over me in the moment because I was not being threatened in any way.

We all met up at Melia's, which was actually Dwight's apartment. Walking over to the girls in the parking lot, I called out to them.

"Hey, I tried calling her again while I was on my way, still no answer. Did anyone else call her?" I asked.

"Erica spoke first. "Yes but it was straight to voicemail. It was no longer ringing." Then Halley spoke.

"This isn't Amelia, something is wrong, Dwight just left. Do you think Matthew did something?"

"Matthew?" I asked. Remembering that she got the restraining order against him.

"Yes Fi, what if he's been watching and waiting for the right moment, remember a van was following her a few weeks ago. She ended up at my house." Nya said.

"What?!" Shouted Erica. "How come no one said anything to us?" She said pointing to herself and Halley.

"I don't know, I guess too many things were going on in our lives at the time. She didn't want anyone to worry and stress." Nya responded.

"I can't believe this, so he did something. It must be him. We can't reach her, let's go up and check if she's home." Halley said.

I looked around in the parking lot to see if I could spot her car. The little green MINI Cooper was no where to seen.

Walking to her door, I realized I was the only one that knew where the apartment was because I came here a few months ago to drop off some of her clothes.

We walked up the apartment door, knocked and shouted. No one answered. We knocked, shouted and banged on the door for about fifteen minutes before her neighbour's head popped outside his door.

"Can stop banging on the door please, she's not here." We all turn immediately at the voice.

"She's probably still at work, go bang on the door there." He said with a grumpy look on his face, with that being said his head disappeared and then the door was shut.

Halley turned to us. "Let's go check there."

As we go to the the elevator, Nya asked. "Has any called Dwight?"

We looked at each other. "Fi you should call him. You're the only one that has met him so far." Nya said.

I let out a gasp. "I forgot, he's gonna be so mad when he finds out."

I dialed his number when we were all back the parking lot.

"It's not going through, I'll try again and leave a voicemail." I said, I tried once more, still no answer, so I left a voicemail.

"Hi Dwight, I know this is an odd hour for me to call you, but something has happened. Well - we aren't sure something has happened yet, but we can't find Amelia, our calls aren't being answered and she's not at home. We are gonna check her workplace to see if she's there. When you get this, please can you call back. We are starting to worry." I hung up the phone.

"Let's go check her workplace." Erica said.

We arrived and pulled into the parking lot, instantly spotting her car.

We each parked and got out of our cars, rushing over to check her car.

There was condensation on her windows, I used my hand to wipe away the condensation on the front passenger window. I looked inside, not seeing anyone in the seats.

"She's not here, maybe she's inside. Let's check her office. " I stated.

When we entered the building, the security guard stopped us right away.

"We are currently closed, you're going to have to come back tomorrow." The big hulk looking man said.

Nya spoke first. " We are looking for Amelia Banks, she works here."

The hulk man responded. "Miss Banks isn't here, she left hours ago."

"Are you sure?" I asked, anxiety slowly creeping up my back.

"Let me check the system." He said. He walked over to the computer and clicked on a few keys. "Yes, she left seven thirty Thursday night. She didn't sign in this morning."

"What?!" We all shouted at the same time.

I started crying. Halley came over to me and hugged me, followed by Nya and Erica.

"He took her." Erica said.

After hugging, we gathered in the parking lot, deciding to call the police. Nya started circling Amelia's car, looking for clues.

"Guys, come and look at this." She said with a panicked voice.

We all rushed over, spotting a broken heel beside the driver's door.
