Gu Zichen initially wanted to drive to his office in the morning but soon he realized how chaotic that place would get with all the reporters hanging out around his company like predators waiting to pounce on him the moment he appeared.
He simply made Chen Fei to come to his villa and dicussed about his plan.
Gu Zichen felt it was the only thing he could do in order to solve the present situation and make Wu Jintan know that the whole story was fabricated by Li Xiaoyi.
It's not good to delay something he should be doing right at the moment.
All this mess started because of his carelessness and stupidity. At first, he never considered if he was doing the right thing and acted on impulse, only to eventually hurt his wife.
By the time he realised his mistakes and tried to make things right, he was approached by Li Xiaoyi with a hidden motive. She went behind his back and revealed their photos of false intimacy. The ties between him and her were severed long ago but it was portrayed before the public like they were closely related to each other at present, causing a big trouble in his marriage.
He should put a check to Li Xiaoyi's obsession over him and let her know how unworthy and despicable she was in his eyes.
Moreover, his face that he kept well concealed from the public view by maintaining an extremely low profile all these years was now revealed to the whole world without his knowledge and permission.
Gu Zichen wasn't afraid his company would suffer but afraid that he would become another target for women to chase along with his brother, Gu Zihao. He would lose peace in his life completely that he had until last night.

"This way, Boss" Chen Fei led him towards the conference hall. Before entering the hall, he gave one more phone call to Wu Jinyan but received no response from her.
"Wu Jinyan, don't torture me like this" He mumbled covering his face with his palms to hide his expressions. His heart was turning empty inch by inch everytime he tried to contact her. He felt like someone was sucking the life out of him but he couldn't do anything about it as it was all brought upon by himself.
He tried calling his little brother Gu Zihao. Last night, his call wasn't picked and this time he didn't even hear ringing sound or some female robotic voice, instantly making him understand that his little brother blocked his contact. He cursed venting his anger "Damn it. Gu Zihao, you'll pay for what you're doing to me right now"
He took a deep breath to compose himself. He stood before the wide doors with his back ramrod straight and when the doors were opened there came a sea of media representatives into his view.
He didn't even take a step forward but he already felt like his head was smashed with a hammer because of the endless count of shutter sounds and lights flashing on his face.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment to adjust himself to this extremely disturbing environment. The lights continued to flash on him while he walked onto the stage and sat on the single chair behind the desk.
The reporters stared at the tall man dressed in custom stitched business suit as he walked and sat behind the table. He was grabbing everyone's attention with his ink black hair, pointed nose, well drawn eyebrows, thin lips and sharp jawline. It looked like he was perfect in every aspect.
He appeared the same as in the recently leaked pictures but since they were within his vicinity, the reporters felt like their weak souls were being sucked by his dark eyes.
He had a majestic aura around him that instantly made everyone feel pressured. His strong, overwhelming presence was making everyone to mentally shut their mouths before him and respectfully bow down to him. No wonder, he was the king of the business world.
The reporters didn't know how to start and what to ask first. Just in a minute, it became the hardest press meet they ever attended in their whole lives. They were relieved he didn't appear on every press meeting regarding his company matters or else they would have lost their lives long ago with how fast their hearts were beating now.
Gu Zichen waited for a whole minute gazing at the crowd but none opened their mouths to ask him one single question. He didn't know what was going wrong with these reporters but he seriously hoped they would ask him something so that he would know from where to start his explanation.
Chen Fei scratched his head looking at the reporters and then at his boss. He never saw such a silent press conference in his entire life and he was wondering if there's something wrong with his arrangements.
He invited all the popular journalists in the city who were well known for stripping a human naked just with their probing, ruthless and unrestrained enquiries. But he didn't know why all those reputed people were suddenly acting weird when they should be firing questions at his boss.
Moreover, there's a live broadcast of this press meet on the internet. These reporters were making themselves look like fools before the netizens by zipping their mouths tightly. 'Tsk..Tsk' Chen Fei shook his head.
He spoke standing next to his boss "I thank you all for gracing us with your presence. You can now ask your questions"
Chen Fei felt like a total stupid as the reporters stayed silent even after what he said.
Gu Zichen sighed internally looking at the crowd before picking up the microphone from the table.
"Hello, I'm the CEO of Gu Corporation, Gu Zichen. Since no one's curious to know the reason behind this press conference, I better talk about it myself" His deep voice was calm and smooth with no hitch. Everyone fell in a trance listening to him.
"I know, no matter what I say or how much I explain about the ongoing issue, people would still have their own opinions and would talk about me in their own perspective. I don't care about them because I know what they're thinking or talking about me is not the truth" Gu Zichen stood up while speaking and walked towards the cameras that were capturing his every move.
"Everyone is very doubtful about my relationship with Li Xiaoyi. I admit, we were together in the past" Gu Zichen honestly admitted his past relationship as he didn't want to give another chance for Li Xiaoyi to stir up one more trouble to him by revealing stuff from the past.
At this point, the crowd of reporters seemed to have come alive hearing his words and they excitedly chattered among themselves.
It became a little noisy, Gu Zichen had to rise his hand to make the reporters stop chatting and continued "But, it didn't work out between us and we parted ways. And at present there's nothing between us"
"Because I'm happily married to a wonderful woman who's kind, sweet and more suitable for me" He stressed the last few words directly stating that Li Xiaoyi was nothing compared to his dear wife.
His words were so pinpointed, it felt like he was saying that anyone who believes that he had something going on with Li Xiaoyi were simply fools.
"Whether you believe it or not, it's not my concern. My only concern now is my wife. She wasn't picking my calls since last night and..." He sighed dejectedly and continued "I don't know where on earth she is now and I'm worried sick... ALL THANKS TO SOMEONE" He said the last few words with little anger lingering in his voice.
Gu Zichen finally stared at the reporters with a sorrowful look on his face. He looked so vulnerable causing everyone in the hall to shake their with helplessness and pity him for his miserable condition. He looked like an aggrieved little house wife who was bullied by her husband.
