Chapter 56 - Raid Quest

It had been about 1 minute after we had came out of Rind's world. I was in Osiric's room, with him by my side.

His room was pretty neat, even more so than the time I had seen it from outside. His bed was minimalistic and only had a single blanket and pillow. But, I could easily see that his bed had some magic used on it. I could easily find out what kind of magic was used - it was temperature regulator and comfort boost.

Looking around more you will find a simple table and chair. On the table, there wasn't anything, other than a filled out pen holder. The chair was a simple wooden chair.

If you look up you will find a white stripe running throughout the corners. That was the light, it was entirely magic, so Osiric would have to fill it up himself – which shouldn't be that much of a problem for him.

Looking at the ground you will only see a simple carpet that was covering the entire floor. Looking around the room you can see one window covered by some thin curtains that let light in.

But the most important thing in the room was the thing right in front of me. It was a bookshelf.

The bookshelf was the only thing that looked expensive – other than the bed. It was filled to the brim with books whose topic ranged from history to flow control, there were a lot of books in there.

Osiric had said that he had even more books downstairs in the library. I wasn't that surprised to hear that, after all, Osiric was pretty knowledgeable on a lot of topics.

We were standing in the center of the room stretching. We weren't stretching because our muscles had started to cramp up – as it was already healed by the flow – were just doing it out of reflex.

"Those 10 rounds were really tiring." I complained.

Well, it was actually too late to complain; plus, I wasn't even tired. After all, I could continuously run for 10 days straight and not even be remotely closed to be tired. Just like the stretching, it was purely through reflex.

"Yeah." Osiric agreed.

I nodded with him, but there was something I wanted to ask, "Os, I really want to try mana infusion…" I really didn't want to ask more from Osiric, especially since he was in his home, but I had no choice, "So, can you help me?"

He had said that we should try mana infusion after we reach F-rank. And since we had became F-rankers just yesterday, I really wanted him to teach me. It wasn't like I didn't know how to do it, I knew it pretty well.

But I was scared to do it. I mean, the last time I had tried infusion, it resulted in all my blood vessels exploding, my muscles being torn to shreds, and my bone turning into powder.

And due to that incident, I was terrified of doing it.

Osiric picked up on that pretty easily; so, without showing any reluctance, he nodded and said, "Sure!" he had a huge smile on his face while he said that.

Seeing that, I had to try my best not to make a reluctant expression, as I didn't want to do so. So, with my utmost effort, I put on a big smile and thanked him.

I was very happy that he had agreed to teach me, as I really wanted to learn magic infusion. It will start to get very hard to kill monsters. So, if I don't get the boost from my infusion, I won't be one-shot monsters like I used to.

Plus, I wanted to shine like a rainbow.

I had found out that elemental magic has a rainbow aura – different from my previous aura that only had four colors.

'How big of an attack could I make?' I wondered about how much energy can I release with infusion.

Without the boost provided by the infusion, I could make an attack that could completely decimate mountains – after all, I was stronger due to Rind's training. Just imagining the carnage I could do was a little thrilling, for me.

'But, I won't ever be able to do it.' I lamented a little, since, not only would I be in some hot water if I released an attack on that magnitude without compressing it, I also would lose massive amounts of damage.

A strong F-rank monster won't even get scratched form that, since, most of the attack's energy would be wasted on the explosion, instead of focusing and damaging the monster.

Plus, there were some monsters on F-rank that could teleport, so if I don't release all the energy in the shortest window of time I could, I won't be able to do any damage to them, and would keep on missing.

I then looked towards Osiric, "Well, I think I will train later. But we should go down, after all, I want to talk with Dave."

"Sure, I also have to talk with my mom a little." Osiric replied.

I nodded then started walking towards the closed door on the room's side. I opened it, and went outside.

With Osiric following me, I started to go downstairs.

And while we were about to reach the stairs, Osiric asked me, "Tyler, what quests do you want to do after this?"

"Huh?" I stopped and looked at Osiric, surprised. It was the first time that Osiric had ever asked me a question about quests. Normally, I and Emma were the ones that were asking the questions.

Due to how surprised I was, it took me a hot second to process everything, "You really surprised me, but, I think I want to take some hard quests…" I then started to think about a quest I would want to do.

While thinking about it, I remembered "that"; my face started to brighten as the excitement inside my body started to skyrocket, "Osiric," I called Osiric by his full name, without the nickname.

He was a little surprised by it, but didn't let it show on his face, and quickly replied "Yeah?", "What do you think about raids!?" I exclaimed with excitement on the level Osiric had never seen before.

Osiric was visibly surprised by it, but I didn't care about it that much. I really wanted to do a raid, since, after F-ranks we could do some raid quests.

In raid quests, you generally had to fight very strong monsters that needed a party to kill. But not just any party, the party had to fully be balanced and needed to have next-level teamwork – both of which we excelled at.

Just thinking about doing raid made me excited, after all, I really loved doing them back home in MMOs.

Osiric needed to take a second to process my oozing excitement, "I am totally in, but you should ask Emma first." he replied.

"Don't worry, I'll make her agree to it!" I said.

"Ok." Osiric then started walking, and I followed suit.

We then started hearing Emma's voice as she was talking with Osiric mom. We had our senses suppressed, like normal, so we couldn't hear it. And we didn't want to increase our senses.

So we just went down to faster to see what she was talking about.

We then reached the ground floor and started to go towards the voice. I followed Osiric as he was better at tracking than I was. But, it wasn't like I couldn't do it myself, I was just lazy. Plus, I was oozing excitement.

Hell, I was confident that there was an excited aura surrounding me.
