Lysa slowed down his stride and stopped at precisely behind the crowd. While squeezing through the crowd, Lysa uses a little trick to avoid physical contact. It also can be considered as a form of training for her physical ability. Finally, after spending so much effort walking pass the crowd, she stood at the front side. Now, she could see clearly who people might awaken their bloodline this time.
Three people were standing about 10 meters from the Blood Monolith—the three of them each two males and one female.
Lysa casually asked the person beside her, "Do you know those three people?" She pointed to three people standing before Blood Monolith with her chin.
Upon hearing Lysa question, the person stunned for a second before turned to Lysa. The moment his eyes caught Lysa gorgeous face, the man immediately astonished and grew silent for a moment.
"Oy! Are you there?" Lysa waved her hand before the man face.
"Ah? I'm sorry." The man scratched his head embarrassedly.
"Nevermind, I just wanted to know those three fellow identities."
"Oh...That's Lindan" The man pointed at the man who wore a light blue outfit. He then pointed the man beside Lindan, "That's Yugo.". Then he pointed at the woman "As for the woman, her name is Yiying."
Lysa nodded understandingly. She didn't say anything else and watched the awakening process curiously. She merely wanted to know the process is, and if somehow there is an opportunity for her to test her blood on this Blood Monolith, she would gladly make use of it.
Lindan turned to the two people around him, "Who's first?"
"Because big brother Lindan is the oldest among us, it should be you, hehe." Yugo chuckled.
Yiying silently nodded her head.
"Okay!" Lindan exclaimed.
Lindan start walking forward and stopped only when his nose almost touched the Blood Monolith. Lindan then takes out a knife which already he prepared earlier. Next, he slices his palm with the knife until the blood slipped out from the wound. Finish with the slice thing, he proceeds to press his palm against Blood Monolith.
The crowd became silent, and the surrounding air turned heavy. All of a sudden, the Blood Monolith radiated a weird aura that makes people who watched the process feel solemn.
On the lower part of the Blood Monolith, which previously greys suddenly turned into a red like blood. At first, it was only the lower part painted by the red color, but as time passed, the red color gradually spread and eventually the whole grey stone tablet covered in red blood color.
"So, this is why this tablet named Blood Monolith." Lysa muttered in admiration. Looking at the colossal Blood Monolith that stood majestically with its red blood colour, Lysa suddenly feels hungry. She didn't know what caused it, but she certainly needed to divert her attention from the Blood Monolith now. Otherwise, what would happen next wouldn't be good.
Lysa didn't want to bother herself for the rest of the ceremony since she could feel her condition worsening, but the moment she about to withdraw, the sky immediately darkening. A rumble of lightning resounded across the area; many people start wondering what actually happening. Contrary to the horrified expression that is shown by many ignorant people, the experienced elder was joyous.
"A lightning ability, huh?" Elder Tonpa muttered while stroking his beard.
Within the sky filled with the glow of lightning, a piece of thunderbolt suddenly descend to the Blood Monolith.
*BOOM*
The ground near Blood Monolith immediately cracked greatly because of the impact. Fortunately, many audiences already retreated before the lightning strike, so it didn't cause any casualties. Yiying and Yugo already withdrew beforehand, so they were currently in a safe distance. As for Lindan fate, no one knows since the near area Blood Monolith got covered by thick dust.
Lysa who about withdrew because felt the sudden hungry was in dumbstruck after seeing the effect bloodline awaken brought. Only a mere bloodline awaken trigger such phenomena? Isn't it too extravagant?
Slowly the thick dust dissipated and Lindan back figure came into view. In his naked figure barely exists any scratch from the lightning strike and if you see it clearly, you would see a faint spark of lightning revolved around Lindan body. It as if the earlier lightning implanted into Lindan body.
"Congratulations." Elder Tonpa immediately showed up and congratulated the youngster before him.
"Thank you, Elder Tonpa." Lindan bowed deeply.
"Haha, no need to thank me. It was all because of your hard works. Now, you gain a power of lightning that was quite rare for us Bloodline User. Hopefully, your power will contribute greatly to Human Race." Elder Tonpa patted Lindan shoulders satisfied.
"Of course I'll do my best to strengthen the human race if that's possible." Lindan patted his chest proudly.
Elder Tonpa nodded and turned to Yiying and Jugo, "You two, go try it."
Yiying exchanged glances with Jugo before dashed toward the Blood Monolith.
Even after assaulted by lightning strikes, the current Blood Monolith still erects firmly. It's like the earlier strike didn't cause any damage to it. But the surrounding area was affected significantly that even the faint traces of lightning still exists.
Lysa didn't bother with many speechless gazes directed to her when she casually asked Elder Tonpa, "Uncle, is every time someone awakens its bloodline, the effect would be like this?"
"Yes. Though, the effect would be different depending on what abilities did that person awakens. For example, my awakening in the past was causing the surrounding area covered by a red light. If its a flame type, then the near area temperature will rise."
"Then wouldn't it be troublesome to clean up the mess?" Lysa asked in doubt.
"Haha, did you think causing such phenomena didn't exhaust much energy? Even the Blood Monolith needs to rest for approximately one year before another bloodline awakening ceremony could be held again. But our resident Lewin City always maintained tradition in which the ceremony will be held once every three years. The boy you helped earlier was someone from a batch that awaken its bloodline three years ago."
"Ooo...So it's like that." Lysa nodded understandingly and moved her eyes to Yiying direction.
Yiying walked slowly and did the process as same as Lindan. The lower Blood Monolith part got dyed by red blood color, and gradually the whole tablet got dyed by it. But this time, the lightning didn't come but another weird thing happened. The surrounding temperature swiftly dropped, as though winter already came. A blizzard suddenly enveloped the whole region and lasting for about 5 minutes before gradually settling down.
In the process of it, Yiying graceful body slowly revealed. Her previous white skin is now becoming paler. Her face was cold as an Ice queen, but a joyous expression cannot be concealed from it.
"Congratulations, Yiying." Elder Tonpa congratulated.
"Thank you, Elder." Yiying thanked sincerely.
"Since everyone has already done with their awakening, now let me do it." Yugo said excitedly. A fighting intent was evident in his eyes.
Yugo didn't say anything else and immediately went to the Monolith. This time he uses a unique method. Instead of using a knife, he used a blade to slice his palm. Though it was quite difficult because of its size, it's his own choice, so everyone respected it and patiently watched Yugo doing his work.
*Splash*
A lot of blood spurted out from the wound Yugo made.
"What is he doing?" Yiying knitted her eyebrows seeing Yugo actions.
Elder Tonpa shook his head at Yugo action but didn't reprimand him and answered Yiying question, "He thought that the amount of blood you sacrificed would influence how strong the ability you get."
"Is that even work?" This time Lysa was the one who asked.
"I don't know. There's never an official record that mentioned it." Elder Tonpa shrugged his shoulders.
Afterward, Lysa didn't ask anything else and resumed watching Yugo doings.
After watching the Blood Monolith process twice, Lysa didn't feel hungry as the first time she experienced it anymore. The whole process was the same as before but something unexpected happens. That is no strange event occurred.
"Is the awakening failed?" Lysa couldn't help but wonder.
"No, he succeeds." Elder Tonpa replied.
Despite not making any extraordinary phenomenon, Yugo could feel that on his current body residing an extremely great power. His lips curled upward thinking about it. He immediately walked to Elder Tonpa and courteously thanked him.
Though Lysa was a bit curious regarding his ability, Lysa knew that every own ability could be considered as privacy. So she could only swallow her curiosity and standing quietly behind Elder Tonpa.
