Chapter 10 - An Outsider

The man immediately leads Lysa to the available seats. Afterward, the man didn't directly help Lysa, but forwarded his hand, "My name is Lyon, what's yours?"

The man seems approachable and with his look he must be popular among women. But that charm didn't seem slightest work for Lysa.

Lysa shook it and answered, "Saly."

She still didn't know her identity, so just in case something terrible happens, her real name wouldn't be exposed. Lysa already in a vigilant state since waking up strangely at that forest, she didn't know if her real name would bring her trouble, so she decides to hide it for now.

"Lyon?" Lysa mused before continued, "Didn't you say you replaced big brother named Lyon for guarding this library, could it be?"

Lyon laughed embarrassedly, "Yes, there is no second Lyon on Lewin City."

"Oh, no wonder a little kid already arrogant and could act like a gentleman. It turns out deep inside it hidden an adult soul." Lysa mumbled in a low voice.

"What do you say?"

"Nothing." Lysa quickly shook her head and changed the topic excitedly, "You said that you knew about the characteristic matter, can you tell me now?"

"Alright, it's not a secret knowledge anyway. You could actually learn it in other cities. Still, because Lewin City only established recently, there's no way its library would be as good as other cities which already built a long time ago."

"Are you already been gone to another city?" Lysa inquired.

She was curious about what other cities would look like. She decides that if the quota for Blood Monolith weren't given to her, she would travel to other cities. She couldn't possibly stay here without knowing her past identity, and moreover, her presence here already strange.

"Yes, I recommend you should travel there if you get a chance. Cough...Let's continue to the business, what characteristic creature do you want to know?"

Since Lysa planned to leave in a near day, she didn't need to make a lie and went asked directly, "Vampire characteristic."

Lyon didn't look suspicious since its common for a human curious about other races trait, so he answered it casually, "Vampire huh...Their feature was more or less like a human. Even if there's a vampire standing among the crowd of humans, it would be hard to distinguish it. That's how similar their feature is."

Lysa didn't interrupt and let Lyon continued his speech, "In truth, all their features were basically the same as a human. I only happen to know three of their characteristics. That is, they had skin that was so pale, two additional fangs, and lastly they were said afraid of the sun."

Lysa subconsciously touched the little fang on her mouth. These actions did go unnoticed by Lyon as he continued, "Well, that's only what I know. As for how much pale their skin is, I don't know." Lyon then looked at the thin pale hand Lysa and exclaimed, "Probably, more or less like your skin."

Lysa initial pale face was getting paler upon hearing Lyon words. When she knew that vampire ability was related to blood, she still had a little hope that she was after all still a human. But after Lyon explained about vampire characteristic, she knows that she can no longer deny all that clue that indirectly tell that she was actually a vampire.

She didn't know how to process all these feelings...

She was actually...

A...

Vampire!

"Are you okay?" Lyon asked worriedly after seeing the sudden silence of Lysa. He could sense that the woman before him was getting paler each second passed.

Lysa forced a smile, "I'm alright." Lysa didn't wait for Lyon response and swiftly rose up from her seat. She merely bowed a little, "Thank you for your help, Lyon."

Lyon finds Lysa behavior was quite strange but he couldn't grasp what is it, so he simply brushed that thought off and answered nonchalantly, "Its no big deal."

Lysa nodded her head and bad him farewell.

On the way, she couldn't help but touch her fangs numerous times. She still can't believe that she was actually a vampire all along. It explains how she was feeling uncomfortable all over when Elder Tonpa escorted her. That event occurred at noon where the sun radiates at its brightest.

Its no wonder she would obtain a strength boost when she licked the blood. All vampire abilities were mostly related to blood.

Lysa was in a daze all time that she didn't even realize that she had already arrived in front of her house. Looking at the familiar door, Lysa soul finally returned to its body.

Entering the room, Lysa immediately headed toward the bed and slumped on it. Her mind was in a mess and she didn't know how to resolve it. So, she resorted to the sleep method to calm all her emotions. After all, sleep is the best medicine. Soon drowsiness took over Lysa body, and her eyelashes slowly trembled before closed.

On her dream, she could vaguely saw a man. The man face was blurry, but Lysa could faintly sense beneath it was a handsome face. The man turned to Lysa and although Lysa couldn't see his expression, she could feel the man is currently smiling.

The man only mouthed the same words that she once heard the second time she woke up in the forest.

"Don't forget about me, and remember that I'll always have my own ways to find you."

That words seem ringing a bell on Lysa heart as she immediately wakes up with tears rolled down on her cheeks.

"Who are you? And why did a mere blurry image of you could cause my heartache?" Lysa hoarsely cried while covering her eyes with her right hands.

After done venting her emotions, Lysa wiped the remaining tears that still glued to her cheeks. Lysa didn't know whether to laugh or cry after realizing that she was actually already cried over three times in mere a day. Even her beautiful eyes are currently swollen because of the cry she did. Lysa then patted her cheeks and proceeded toward the bathroom to freshen herself.

Leaving the bathroom, Lysa didn't immediately find Elder Tonpa and tidying up her room first instead. She knew that Elder Tonpa would find her if the meeting results already out. But she didn't place too much hope into it since the quota was precious and limited. For an outsider like Lysa to obtain a quota was like a dream. Even if she already did an excellent deed by saving Yanto from the beast, she was still after all an outsider.
