Chapter 16 - Perspectives mean a lot

A man in his late teens was covered in blood and panting heavily in the middle of a large forest, bite marks and blood covered his body. He had given up all hope on survival, the lifelessness showed on his poor eyes, he had never been treated well all of his life.

His parents died when he was a young age, instead of being helped he was cast away. Cities falling and people dying were normal things as the monsters were just too powerful, why would they waste resources on such a child?

He never made it bother him, he studied harder than anyone else. He trained his body, learned movement skills, he had truly tried his hardest, but he was still too weak in the face of a true monstrosity.

The pack of wolves that had been chasing him for quite some time finally reached him once more, he slumped downward against a tree and looked at the sky with a smile as tears began to flow through onto his face.

"I'm sorry.. Dad, Mom. I'm going to see you soon." The teen then closed his eyes fully prepared to be mauled by these wolves.

They barked in his face and snarled until they all jumped at him! The teenager cringed in fear but the moment he was waiting for didn't happen, instead he heard the sound of the wolves whining and crying.

"You okay my child?" A good looking man in his 20's in luxurious armor spoke. The aura about him seemed quite mysterious.

"Yes.. but I can't walk far, I will need your help kind sir!" The boy managed to speak with trouble.

"What's your name kid?" The man asked with sincerity.

"My name? I'm Tym.. Who are you? You're amazing you killed those wolves like it was nothing!" The teenager replied in a tone of surprise.

The man smiled in response to this and reached his hand out to lift Tym up. "Me? I'm Xen."

2 Hours ago Xen POV

------

In front of Xen was a bustling city that was about five times the size of the previous one, there was no entry checks as this city welcomed everybody. The city had lettering on the front of its walls that said "Neutrality", what an original name.

Xen let out a deep breath "Finally another City.. Seeing as I'm going to begin to lay the roots for my faction I will need to pick up a follower whom will be completely loyal towards me no matter what." Xen entered the city and casted a spell onto his eyes known as Mana Detect, it allowed him to peer into the Mana Wires in other people, of course it didn't work against those who were much more powerful than the caster.

After a short while of looking around he found a group of teens led by one adult, one of the teens had something quite amazing inside of him..

"Is that really the Advanced Wires? That.. that's quite interesting.." Xen smiled.

"Goodbye! The adult said to the teens, the others bid their farewell to each other as well. They had just adventured for a bit and decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Xen followed the Adult until he went to his house, Xen then stopped the door from closing and entered the house.

The man turned and looked at Xen with wide eyes. "What are you doing! Get out of my house!"

Xen rolled his eyes and threw a bag at him, a slight jingle jangle was made.

"Gold coins!" The man smiled. "What do you need my respected guest?"

'Money really does rule all..' Xen thought.

"Speak to your other team members except the older teen, when you are being chased by wolves leave him to die." Xen had a plan to put this kid in his hands..

"Ah.. but he's just a kid! No way!" The man became enraged! Until.. Xen threw another sack of coins at him.

"It is my honor!" The man replied with a smile.

"You seem like quite a slimy low life, where can I find the Assassin's guild around here?" Xen asked with a tone of arrogance.

"Inside the floral shop under the false floor boards." The man said with no hesitation.

Xen nodded and left.

An hour passed and Xen easily enraged the wolves, the adult followed his instructions and as for if the men survived from this job, he didn't care. If they didn't he'd just get his money back.

Another hour later Xen was currently lifting up the kid's hand to help him off of the tree.

"Come, I'll take you into town.. In fact, I will take you in as my disciple!" Xen said with a smile.

"Me? Really? But what can I do sir?" Tym responded devoid of confidence.

"Don't worry, I will.. take care of you."
