I ran to my Aunt's room, caught my breath, fixed things to my appearance, then knocked. My knocking was responded with a hello. I felt sick. She sounded so bad, so out of it. I opened the hospital door, and laid eyes on my aunt, who was pale as a ghost. I was terrified. Aunt Sabine was the person who could do anything, you could go to her for problems or advice. She's too young to leave and I'm not ready.
"Hey Aunt Sabine."
"Hello Lily."
"I walked to her and sat down on the bed, tense.
"Where's Uncle Tom?"
"He's not here, he's in New York for his job."
"Oh."
"I'm sorry Lily."
"You look so….. different."
"I know."
"Is it painful?"
"No, really it isn't. The doctors are taking great care of me. I'll be here for a while."
"What was mother like?"
Aunt Sabine was taken aback by my sudden question, but for the first time she talked about my mother. She knew her time was up.
"She was a lot like you actually. Straight forward, determined, love sick."
Love sick?
I glanced at my Aunt, who clearly knew something, she had a smirk on her face. "But she didn't talk about her husband very much. She kept him hidden until I found out she was pregnant with you, Lily."
I looked at her eagerly this time.
"She never brought him around, no ring, no sign, then one day her stomach was getting bigger, and she was throwing up, then she disappeared. Why did she never talk about her husband? I don't know. I wish I could tell you more ...."
I could tell Aunt Sabine was going through a lot.
"Hey it's okay. I'm just glad you told me what she's like." I went to hug her. She felt like a leaf in the fall, shriveled and fragile.
"Hey Aunt Sabine?"
"Yes Lily?"
"You said I was love sick, why is that?"
"Well it's that kind young man with the red hair, am I right?"
I blushed. Yes, I believe you are correct."
"Well it may seem that you have a deep connection with him."
"Yes I do."
"Why not tell him? I know you have your secret, but you have no clue what the future might hold for you, him, or for you both."
"I think you're right."
"Oh and Lily before you leave."
"Yes?"
"Remember to take breaks."
"I will, thank you Aunt Sabine." I smiled, waved, then left.
Shon was still in his room waiting for me on his phone. I quietly opened the door, but he heard and looked up.
"Done already?"
The way he looked at me made me blush lightly. "Yes."
He stood up, put his phone in his pocket and walked towards me. "Shall we go then?" he asked, holding out his hand like a gentleman.
I smiled and took his hand. "Yes we shall, Mr. Bougainvillea.
Shon laughed. "It would be my pleasure, Miss. Evergarden."
Then he walked me out of the hospital. Ian and Kori had something come up so they couldn't join us. We walked without changing position to my house.
"Guess you have to hire me again, Miss Evergarden."
I laughed covering my mouth like a lady. "Oh and why is that?"
Shon looked down at me, smirking. "Because I know you can't resist me."
I blushed, and he clearly saw.
"Is that your only reason?"
"And so we can be together again." he pouted as he looked me in the eyes. "I missed you Lyr."
I looked at him speechless. "I, I missed you too." I said as I leaned into him. I unlocked the door to my house and we both walked in. I checked my phone and Shon looked over my shoulder, seeing why I was surprised.

I scrolled down and Shon and I were in the same room!?
"Um Shon?" Do you see this?"
Shon hugged me from behind.
"Yes I do, and I don't mind." he said as he put his head on my shoulder.
"You, you don't?" I asked. Shon noticed my weakened state, picked me up in his arms, bridal style.
"Why would I? I've known you forever."
"Oh?" I was taken aback by his actions. He holds me firm yet gentle, balancing me.
"Yes."
I looked away, flustered. We're not even dating, but it feels like we are. Shon mumbles something under his breath.
"What is it Shon?"
He walked over to the island in the kitchen, and placed me on it. His hands blocked me from moving as he stood close to me.
"I can't seem to resist you either." he said as his face moved close to mine. I closed my eyes knowing what came next, and leaned my face closer to his. Contact. Not long, but long enough to make us both enjoy it. We did it again only the contact was longer. Shon moved his hand to the back of my head, and his other to my waist. I moved my hands slowly up his chest then around his neck. We both pulled back, breathless. Shon wiped my lips, and I did the same for him. We both looked at each other knowing what happened, knowing what's to come next, and knowing our emotions for each other. We hugged as he gently placed me on the ground and said.
"Happy valentines day babe."
I smiled. "Happy valentines day." Then I kissed him on the cheek. "I love you."
Shon hugged me closer and tighter, like he was holding onto his life support. "I love you too." and with that me and Shon are dating.
