Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 - Moments in Life

I walked on our beach with Curtis running with our kids. Shon was at work, and the shop's work day was finished. Our two boys played fetch with Curtis in the water while I went to make dinner for my family. I finally had one, a complete family.

Ian and Kori also had kids, a set of twins, boy and girl and their wedding was as sweet as ours. I heard the familiar hum of Shon's truck as he pulled into the driveway. He opened the door and put his things down before he held me in his arms, kissed me, and showered me in affection.

"Tough day?" I asked while cooking salmon.

"I missed you." he said as he nuzzled my neck.

"You could've called me." I answered.

"But I couldn't hold you." he kissed my neck and slid his hands under my shirt and up my body, touching my breasts. I blushed as he delicately touched them.

"S, Shon…."

"Yeah babe?"

I couldn't find an answer so I shoved Shon's face with boiled carrots. He laughed and picked me up, and twirled me around in his arms. I finished cooking and Shon called the boys and Curtis in for dinner. We ate and talked like a perfect family and also had cupcakes for dessert. The boys soon went to bed, and Shon helped me clean up. We turned on the TV when we were done, and cuddled on the couch.

It's moments like these that you want to last forever. Moments where you would defend and fight for. Moments where you will never forget them. Moments where everything is perfect, and nothing could go wrong. Moments like this. I was blessed to have these moments. To have these people in my life. Even though I am a syren, and that my life has been cursed, I was blessed to have the right people at the right time. Unforgettable, lovable, and happy moments that could last forever.

"Lyr?"

"Yeah?"

"Something on your mind?"

I shook my head, kissed Shon, and moved back into him more. I fell asleep to him massaging me and humming me a sweet tune, with the TV noise in the background.
