Chapter 52 - The Lady Has A Heart Condition

Before the monk could even become angry for being kicked, he saw that the exasperating widow had already gotten up to leave.

But there was no way the monk would allow her to leave. He did not have time to become angry, because he had to quickly grab her. "It's already late at night. Where are you going?"

"Master, stop teasing me." Chu Yue turned her head to look at him.

This time, she did not have any anger or sadness on her face. The only thing that could be seen was disappointment, as if she had seen through his true nature.

She had thought that he was different from others and had not expected that the stupid monk would turn up to be the same as the other men in ancient feudal China.

He was also thinking about being surrounded by women and enjoying a life with multiple wives.

"Yue'er!" The monk frowned.

"Master, I am very thankful for how you have taken care of me over this period of time. I have never regretted being together with you. But Master, right from the start, I have told you that I cannot tolerate my husband marrying other women. I am a jealous woman that the world cannot tolerate. My husband can only belong to me. Forget about touching another women, I will not even allow him to think about other women.

"Master, I've told you these things from the start. You might have forgotten them, but now, I'm telling you them again, regardless of how much I like you.

"I had actually made plans. Once you became worldly again, we could look for a place far away from the cities and live a simple life. I would then give birth to a son and a daughter for you.

"I don't want any jewelry, and I don't want to eat those bird's nests. As long as you can be with me, I can live through whatever life it is."

When she said this, the widow smiled in a miserable manner. She broke free of his grasp and said, "Master, I won't cook for you anymore. I will be going back now."

Once she finished speaking, she turned around and tried to leave.

"What's the meaning of this?" Qin Heng asked with a dark expression.

"I want to break things off between us." Chu Yue did not turn her head around. She wanted to leave pridefully.

It might be a regret that she did not manage to get together with the monk, but she would not cause herself grief just to get together with him. It was not as if all men in the world had died and the monk was the only one left. While she had not fallen too deeply in love, it would be best that she broke things off.

"Stay where you are!" Qin Heng said with a dark expression.

But the widow did not care.

Qin Heng got out of the bed and grabbed her. He tugged at her arm and pulled her into his embrace.

"Master, what are you doing?" Chu Yue frowned and looked at him.

"Do you actually think that this is a place where you can come and go as you please?" Qin Heng stared at her.

Chu Yue smiled. "Master, do you think you have suffered a loss?"

Qin Heng felt that he was about to suffer a stroke because of how angry he was.

"I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear what you just said."

Chu Yue did not expect that she would hear him say such words.

She smiled coldly in her heart, but before she could say anything, for some reason, she felt a little faint and fell unconscious in Qin Heng's arms.

Qin Heng was stunned. He quickly moved outside while shouting, "Summon the imperial physician!"

When the imperial physician came over, Qin Heng's face was a little pale. He asked with a dark expression, "She has been drinking the medicine you prescribed all this while, so why is she still so weak? She fainted out of nowhere."

"Your Majesty, there are only two explanations for why someone might faint without a reason. One of them is because they are weak and anemic as well as lacking energy, which is why they get dizzy."

The imperial physician found himself breaking out into cold sweat. He had been sleeping with his concubine when Yingda woke him up and had him hurry over.

"What about the second possibility?" Qin Heng asked with a frown.

"The second possibility would be that they have a heart condition," Imperial Physician Chang said.

"A heart condition?" Qin Heng's expression grew tense.

"Your Majesty, did the lady's emotions surge greatly just now?" Imperial Physician Chang asked.

"Yes." Qin Heng looked at the sleeping woman in the bed. "I made her angry."

Imperial Physician Chang's heart shuddered. He pretended to not have heard what was just said. "I am afraid I am useless. I cannot be sure as to whether the lady really has a heart condition. All I can say is that those with heart conditions are not to have massive surges of emotions. Judging by the lady's pulse, she is always plagued by gloomy emotions. If you can, it would be the best if you just compromised with her."

"Write a prescription." Qin Heng sighed and waved his hand.

Imperial Physician Chang left. Then, Qin Heng stuffed the sleeping widow's hand back under the covers. He looked at her face. It was the size of his palm and a little white. "Do you not have the slightest inkling as to how I treat you? How could you say such hurtful words and want to break all ties with me?"

But the unconscious lady was unable to hear him.

Chu Yue only woke up the next day.

The door opened with a creak, and the monk came in with medicine.

Chu Yue cast him an indifferent glance. She tried to get out of the bed while saying, "I've caused trouble to you, Master."

The monk quickly pushed her back on the bed. "You haven't fully recovered."
