Chapter 3 - Away In The Woods

"Wow! You really are dumb!", exclaimed Kurtis a hint of disbelief in his voice. "You put your grimy ass feet all over the outside of my house like you owned the place.". Andrew, remembering that he had indeed done that , returned his gaze to the floor once again. "I didn't realize it was a house! It just looked like a pile of rocks-", he blurted out. Kurtis, once again having felt the control over his emotions slip, started to scream. "DID YOU JUST SAY MY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE LOOKS LIKE SOME RANDOM PILE OF ROCKS!?".

Andrew quickly realized that he had made a grave mistake by insulting the other mans home and frantically tried to change his words. "I-I didn't say pile of rocks I said.... it's so beautiful it put me in shock!". Kurtis knew that Andrew's words were a lie and he proceeded to untie the younger man. "...um... Kurtis good buddy... what are you doing?", Andrew asked. Fear crept into his voice. Kurtis, having freed Andrew from the chair, looked at him and grinned. "You and I are going on a nice refreshing walk.". Kurtis then stood Andrew up and led him towards a pile of rocks on the other side of the room. Upon reaching the rocks, Kurtis grunted and made a punching motion. The rocks seemed to possess a mind of their own as they flew outwards and crashed into the forest .

Daylight shone in from the space that the rocks had left. Kurtis motioned for Andrew to step outside and Andrew, not wanting to again lose consciousness, did what he was told. "Don't move.", Kurtis barked at Andrew as soon as they both where fully outside. Kurtis turned his back to Andrew and began to move his hands in sharp aggressive movements. Andrew, having thought that the older man was signaling to someone, looked around and marveled as the rocks that had previously come from the wall began to rise up and glide back to the position they had been in before Kurtis had cast them out. Kurtis, with one final punch, returned the rocks to their original positions. "How the hell did you do that thing with the rocks ?" Asked Andrew and look of amazement plastered on his face Kurtis believing the young man to be on the slow side brushed his question off ,Kurtis turned around to face the younger man. Andrew, being an opportunist ,had taken off running the second he had asked his captor the question. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO MOVE!", Kurtis roared as he chased after Andrew. Andrew heard the older man yell giggled to himself and increased his speed. Something whooshed past Andrew's head. "-What the fuck?!", screamed Andrew as many more flying objects narrowly missed hitting him in the head.

"What the fuck is he doing!? Is he trying to kill me?!", Andrew said to himself as he realized that Kurtis was pulling chunks of earth out the ground to hurl at his head. Kurtis followed closely behind yelling obscenities that would make even the most vulgar of sailors blush .

Andrew didn't believe that Kurtis was a man to issue empty threats this caused him to run even faster through the woods. This was somewhat difficult however because he had to avoid both the rocks that were thrown at him and the trees that were in his way. Andrew didn't know anything about the surrounding area but he continued to run in the direction that he believed would bring him to the village. He hoped that he would be able to find someone to help him before his legs gave out and Kurtis caught him.

The young man quickly realized that he had used too much of his stamina and his legs began to fail him. Andrew didn't know if Kurtis had decided to sit down and rest. He didn't take into account the other man's age and vastly larger amount of experience. Kurtis knew that Andrew would get tired and lower his guard, and this knowledge made it easier for him to catch Andrew.

Andrew believed that Kurtis had given up and decided that a quick nap was the best way to regain his strength. He quickly feel asleep and he dreamed of his apartment, Horace, and the humanoid water creature that had caused many of the stressful situations he had found himself in. He was about midway through the dream about his roommate, the water creature, and the large stuffed meat bread when he was woken up by a voice he knew all to well and dreaded.

"Wow. You are probably the dumbest person I've ever seen.". Andrew didn't have to open his eyes to know that the words belonged to Kurtis. As he made an attempt to run again he suddenly sank into the earth. "You may be dumb, but i'm not.", said Kurtis with an expression that appeared to be made of stone. "I have too many questions for you to be allowed to escape.". Kurtis walked up to the the immobile body of Andrew and punched him in the temple. The younger man was once again rendered unconscious.

The all too familiar feeling of knowing he had been knocked out greeted Andrew as the world once again swam into focus. Though, unlike the previous time when he was tied to a chair inside of Kurtis's house, he was instead buried up to his waist in the ground. The familiar face of Kurtis was inches from his own. Kurtis, in the most mocking voice possible, said, "Thought you were slick didn't ya fuck head? Well guess what. Now your ass is stuck in the ground and my questions will be answered.". Kurtis conjured a chair in front of Andrew with a grin and took a seat. "So. First question: Who the fuck are you?", asked Kurtis as he made direct eye contact with Andrew.

Andrew took a deep breath. "My name is Andrew. I'm twenty-three. I like longs walk on the beach and dark skinned women, how about you Kurtis?". Kurtis, having felt that perhaps Andrew didn't understand the gravity of his situation, stood up and kicked him in the teeth. "Give me a real answer smart ass!", he yelled. Kurtis then angrily returned to his seat. Andrew finally realized that he should probably should chill out and looked at Kurtis. "My name is Andrew. I'm twenty-three. And I don't know where I am or how I got here".
