My mom looked at dad before she said something. "Sweetie, Hem disappeared a few years ago. He went to look for you."
My eyes widened. "Are you saying that he might be dead?"
"No! What I'm saying is that he wouldn't have known if we did put out a poster for you," she said.
"Not unless he has spies in the kingdom," Dad chimed in.
"But he's a magic user, an evil one at that. So, he could've done something. I mean, he turned me into a meif'wa and also made me forget about the past with Xzan."
Mom leaned in towards dad to whisper something to him. Then Dad nodded.
"We need to tell you what exactly happened in the past," Dad said.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked. I was very much confused about what was going on and what I'm hearing.
"You might want to sit down for this," Mom said.
I nodded as I sat down on the chair.
So did Mom and Dad.
They started talking. Telling me about the past and why the war had started to begin with.
After they got done telling me, I replied, "so, you're telling me that the war started because of a rumor from a whole different part of the country, which the rumor was complete nonsense."
"Yes," Mom said.
"The kingdoms need to have trust between each other and not believe a rumor from someone. But how did the person come up with that stupid rumor? And why did they believe the rumors?"
"Those are good questions," Dad said, "we think it was Hem's father and mother since they were the magick users who protected the kingdom. They knew almost everything that was going on in the palace. But they started to turn on everyone and anyone, so we banish them."
"They did it as a type of revenge," I said.
Mom and Dad nodded. "We never wanted to keep you from what happened in the past, but we were worried that you'd go into a deeper saddness than you already were. But it wasn't Hem who did the spell on you. It was one of your mother's friends."
