Alluris watched in restrained fear and disgust as Rutemia was currently being suspended from the disciplinary officer's web. She remembered when she had incurred the ire of Gramu and was also placed into that spot. unable to do anything but slowly talk, the sticky web surrounded every part of you. It was a terrifying existence as you waited to see if they would let you free or left you there.
"Why in the Goddess' name did you think treachery was an accepted practice on this fleet?" The green-skinned woman stated harshly. She did not need the translator hack for Rutemia as the recruit had angered her just as much as Gramu's supporters.
"Who is there?" Rutemia called out. her eyes were glued shut from the web and she heard nothing but groans from the other races that were being disciplined. The last proper sentence she had heard from anyone but herself was the disciplinary officer wishing she would become a slave.
"It is Alluris you pathetic excuse for a woman!" Alluris shouted at Rutemia. her anger had built from every little thing the Vanid had undertaken to undermine the rules of Steel Soul Fleet. Every single thing Alluris had done to build up her home to the place it was now, just being flushed down the toilet because some self-centered bitches wanted it.
"This is a mistake!" Alluris desperately cried out, wishing for her talons to start moving so she could tear apart this web and be able to make her case face-to-face. She knew Alluris was a prey species and if she could talk to her face-to-face; where she could take advantage of her natural forcefulness of a predator; she could have a better chance at winning over the woman.
"What is a mistake Recruit Alrest? The fact that you purposely gave your commanding officer a severe wound? Or was it a mistake that any similar species would be dead by now with the organ you nearly destroyed!" The force in Alluris' voice got across how severe her situation was. but Rutemia was desperately clutching at any straws she could.
"He distracted me with all his annoying comments. I just wished to end the fight and-"
"You can't hold excuses with me Recruit Alrest. You knew he was barely keeping up with your fighting, and not only that. He was avoiding taking a deadly wound. You held no mercy as you struck at him, only to feel regret when you managed to connect? No one will buy that."
The lack of movement from Rutemia's body just increased her fear. if they passed judgment on her any time soon she would be unable to stop them as they branded her and forced her into a life of slavery. "Please don't do this to me! I never intended to harm him like that. I just wanted to punish him for being too cocky!"
"What do you think we're going to do to you? I haven't even stated your punishment yet. And already you're pleading to have it revoked." Rutemia saw a flash of hope, but in her fear and desperation, it just seemed like her desperation was mounting.
"P-Please don't Discharge me!" If she could convince the authorities that she should be judged by dishonorable discharge, she may be able to get out of this alive. "I-I was-"
"Did you really think you would get away with a simple dishonorable discharge Recruit? Did you believe that we were lying when we stated in your contract that your life may be forfeit?"
"Wait what? you're going to kill me?" Her first thought when hearing that her life was forfeit wasn't a simple one. the possibility that she could not only be enslaved but could die if the human hated her enough. It made her feel sick, not only the thought of dying but the idea that the human's patriarchal desire for women may save her.
"Unlike you, we actually find value in those who can help us. You will not be executed unless you truly wish to do nothing for your future master. At least that's what I expect. you've gotten into the public eye so much that the shareholders are crying for your blood." Alluris commented as to the political storm that Gramu was currently in at the moment. That human was far more trouble than almost any other with everything he can and can't do.
"Please, talk to the Vanid. It was all her idea. I just wanted to train and get away from the human when he proved himself incompetent."
"And that's what I can't stand about you new recruits." Alluris' voice managed to drop an octave when she stated this, making her rant appear more threatening. "All you women have done is abuse the privileges you were given. Every officer is trying to fight to be the best while not ever thinking of challenging the Vanid, and you all stopped caring about your peers as soon as they got in the way between you and your precious 'mistress'" Alluris' contempt wasn't over yet, but Rutemia spoke up.
"What else are we supposed to do? When this is all over one of them is going to lead this place and we're going to have to serve them anyway. why not make them happy now and reap the rewards later?"
"See? you don't even care that you nearly killed someone. you're just worried because you'll get punished!" Alluris yelled at her companion. This was a great way for her to work out her stress, even if her victim was growing more and more stressed by the moment. "All you care about is your precious Huigu and her orders. I can't wait to see everyone realize that the Steel Soul Fleet is not an extension of the pathetic empirical politics."
Rutemia was caught off guard by Alluris' accusation, as she thought the conversation between her and the Vanid had been stricken from the video records. They knew about the plan the whole time? Rutemia just hung in place at that. they would've heard everything. and remembering the words she said during her acceptance to punish the human, only the Vanid could save her now.
"Now I was here to cut out that idiot of a Bunta. his master gets hurt and instead of going to protect him from further harm. the moron goes to get revenge for his master." alluris leaves Rutemia, heading deeper into the dark cave to handle Adam's bodyguard.
Rutemia didn't get another chance to talk to Alluris as she was suspended there for hours. wondering what sort of decision would be made for her. and what was holding them up from finishing the paperwork and pulling her from her prison to subject her to it.
That damn human! To think after that bitch nearly killed him, he'd still ask for her to stay free! You're not letting her get off free are you?" Rutemia heard her superior's voice echoing into the dark place, unable to notice her companion until the voice of their CEO rang out.
Watch your tongue Alluris. I am okay with you speaking your mind on topics but I will not allow subordination to spread through the ranks just because you think we're alone."
"You didn't answer my question." Alluris had piped down at that, but they had opened the door to Rutemia's section so she could hear it anyway.
"Why did you think I didn't dismiss the branders. Pull that woman along. we don't want to give her any chance to escape or get those pesky Vanid involved. It needs to be done before they realize so I don't have to deal with them screaming at me in my office."
"Yes Ma'am!" Alluris grew more excited at that. she had wanted to punish someone for the transgressions she felt. so hearing Rutemia becoming a slave gave her what she wanted. Rutemia didn't get a word in before she was pulled from her spot which she couldn't remember and her head slammed into the ground.
"Well she's still awake "Alluris stated. The Shu were perfectly quiet when asleep, so hearing Rutemia groan from the strike informed Alluris of how awake she was.
"Don't dawdle and load her onto the transport," Gramu stated firmly, almost not caring about the fact that they appeared to be friends to their surroundings.
"Yeah, I won't screw it up. I want to see it just as much as you want it over with.'' The next ten minutes were a relatively relaxed ride for Rutemia other when Alluris unceremoniously dumped her into the transport. She was sick of her eyes being webbed shut and being unable to move but that Venom was still all throughout her system.
"Start cutting the web off her. and have you finished keying the nanites to Adam's DNA?" Gramu asked as the transport came to a stop, leading to a surprisingly funny conversation.
"N-no Ma'am we still haven't calibrated the system to the new DNA of the human yet."
"It's been an hour already! how long will it take you to add one new DNA type to the system?" the exasperation in her voice would have been funny if Rutemia wasn't going to be enslaved. "Fine, Cut her open and prepare the brand section"
Rutemia could gain enough of her bodily functions to cry at this point. she didn't even open her eyes as she felt the web coming off. Her scales feeling the cold metal that wrapped itself around the cast for her Tattoo.
"DNA keyed Ma'am." Another woman said quickly. giving Rutemia a moment before she felt the burning pain of the nanite tattoo pour over her scales. The unique substance using the heat to mix itself and her scales into one mass. making the brand impossible to remove, and her enslavement irreversible.
