Chapter 53 - Strong twins

Lisa clenched her hands around the panther, and ran forward. Slamming it into a tree hard enough to crack the trunk. She loosened her grip switching to one handing it by a paw, and started swinging it over her head into the ground repeatedly until it broke up enough that she lost grip on it. The stunned silence that followed as Lisa smiled nervously before walking out of the arena.

None of her moves were particularly fast so it was a plain old strength enhancement ability, but seriously. She had a lot of muscle to throw around.

"Simulation passed," the computers monotone voice broke the silence.

"Mira Mathews," Goliath called Lisa's twin next.

The anticipation of what the other twin would do was practically palpable. Mira didn't do anything real showy as she calmly walked down into the arena, and to the center path. She was faced with the snake. She just stood there calmly as it formed. The snake started moving after almost a full minute of sitting there doing nothing after it had formed.

The snake raised it's head slowly, and then it's head snapped forward to take a bite out of her. Mira didn't even flinch as the snake's strike went right through her. I felt a little half smile pull at my face as Mira stepped out of the snake. Going through it like a ghost. The snake regrouped coiling as it raised it's head slowly to strike again.

Mira didn't flinch away as it went to strike her again, but this time it didn't go through her. It bounced off of her as if it had slammed into a wall. Mira stepped forward, and belly flopped on the snake. Her weight crushed everything she landed on. Density manipulation.

Yet another cool C class ability. I flinched as my stomach growled again. My guts clenched tightly as my guts sent pain throughout my body for a brief second. I was really hungry now. I couldn't wait much longer.

"Let's break for lunch," Goliath's announcement was a welcome sound, "Come back after you get something in those bellies of yours. Those of you who've already had your turn are free to go to the infirmary before or after you eat, and you don't have to come back here."

I practically ran out of the club room. The call of food pushed me into a full sprint. I really wanted that meat now. I rushed into the cafeteria, and to the back of a very short line. I grabbed as many meaty foods as the cafeteria staff would let me.

I stuffed down my pretty impressive pile of meat, and was still hungry. Not only was I still hungry, but I hadn't gotten my normal five xp. System why didn't I get my xp?

User didn't consume enough meat.

I reread the notification in front of my eyes. I was worried that something like this would happen. My appetite had been steadily increasing for some time now with each level. I would have to stay awake for dinner. From the distance I could sense between me, and Ethan I guessed he was in the dorm now.

I'd have to go back to the club anyways. Even if my turn had been taken away I was still probably expected to go back. Goliath would probably come get me if I didn't come back. I dropped my tray off, and walked back to the club slowly. It kind of sucked that I was still so hungry, but there wasn't anything I could do about it until dinner.

I messaged Ethan as I walked.

Me: How'd club go?

Ethan: Not great. We were doing group exercises.

Me: Well that sucks.

Ethan: Are you still in your club?

Me: Yeah. Goliath is testing each of our individual abilities. It'll take a while longer before I get out of club.

Ethan: That sucks.

I walked back into the arena, and over to sit in my usual spot. Goliath was waiting there for us to come back with his feet kicked up, and a sandwich in hand. He didn't seem surprised that I was the first person to come back.

"I can't have you acting that aggressive towards other students," Goliath looked at his sandwich as if it were the most interesting thing in the world, "I know you were trying to stop her from turning all the boys into love struck zombies, but you can't go around breaking bones over it."

"I didn't like what she was doing so I stopped her," I didn't even bother looking at him.

"There are less violent ways to get your point across," Goliath looked up from his sandwich to focus on me for just a second.

"I know," I frowned, "I just didn't think of them at the time, and the way I did it." I paused, "She won't even so much as think of doing it again."

"That's a cruel way of thinking Wyatt," Goliath looked at me funny.

He was right. That was a cruel way of thinking. I hadn't been a particularly cruel person before, but she had prevoked me by taking over half of the club. If she hadn't sent them after me I wouldn't have broken her wrist. To a certain degree Goliath was right.

I could have given her one more warning. I just didn't feel like it. She shouldn't have kept going when I had warned her the first time. I was a one chance kind of guy. I'd given her one chance.

She hadn't taken it. I didn't have the patience to wait for her to make the right decision. I could think about this all day, and still not see what I did as wrong. A little extreme sure, but it wasn't wrong. My point of view had changed a great deal since I'd become a dragon.

Punishment was meant to be dished out quickly, and without mercy. Killing had to be thought out much more carefully. I was just sure that that Jesse kid had killed before. I wasn't sure he'd killed humans before, but I was sure he'd killed something. Animals maybe.
