I stepped into my room. Dropping my false smile, and switching forms. I stretched my human form slowly, and got dressed. I left my room, and went for the door so I could leave.
"You know what you are," Ethan spoke up, "But you don't know anything about yourself."
I turned my head stopping so I was looking at him with the cold blue of my left eye. I stared at him for a little while.
"Do you want to know my whole story?" I blinked slowly.
"Yeah," Ethan stood up clearly ignoring his exhaustion, "I would."
"Get some sleep," I looked at the door in front of me, "I'll wake you up when I get back."
I left without giving him a chance to respond. My head felt like I'd been hit right in the middle of my forehead for a second. The feeling passed just as quickly as it came.
Trust bond with ally Ethan level up. Trust bond now level 2. User, and ally Ethan can now clearly sense the direction the other is.
Trust bond level up? I hadn't done anything. I had leaned against the wall in that moment of pain. I pushed off the wall pushing forward. I wanted to get to my club meeting so I could work off the rest of my pent up anger.
I didn't want to loose my temper in school, and there were three guys I could think of that were making a point of pissing me off. I felt my rage flare up as I sped up slightly. I needed to get rid of my rage. I was outside already so I sped up to a run. Thinking about those three idiots made me want to go punch something right then, and there.
System stats now.
Hp 25
Strength 12.5 (reduced while camouflaged)
Agility 12.5 (reduced while camouflaged)
Stamina 13.5 (reduced while camouflaged)
Instinct 6 (reduced while camouflaged)
Damage resistance 6.5 (reduced while camouflaged)
Mana 50/50
System is my mana really full?
User is currently absorbing the same amount of mana as he is using.
That's good. Transforming already sapped my stamina. Having it sap my mana as well sucked. It put a time limit on how long I could be transformed. Which would be a huge problem if we ever went on an overnight mission.
I could see the dome now. I slowed down, and walked into the building confidently closing the doors behind me. This was probably going to be the last time I got this place alone with the teacher.
"Hey," Goliath called out, "You actually came back."
"I said I was going to," I was a little out of breath, "Do I really look that untrustworthy?"
"Do you want to go through another simulation?" Goliath chuckled as he approached.
"Yeah," I straightened, "Actually I would love to do another simulation."
"Do you want me to make it harder this time?" he smirked at me.
"Yep," I smiled, "Sounds fun."
Goliath activated the simulation floor, and a hilly plane of blue grass grew out of the grey floor. Several still beasts forming from the ground once the grass was fully formed. Most of them looked a lot like zebras, but with sharp spikes at the joints, and fangs poking out from their lips. I went to jump the railing, but Goliath stopped me.
"Try using this," He handed me a little gun.
I looked it over slowly. It looked just like the training gun I'd used on test day. Only instead of the number six on the little readout it read eighteen.
"You want me to use a gun?" I looked at him somewhat confused.
"This is an applied combat club," Goliath nodded, "And your file says you have potential in marksmanship. It would be stupid of me to ignore your talents."
I shrugged, and jumped the railing. I walked to the middle of the area, and checked the little mock gun over right quick.
"What if I need more shots?" I looked up to Goliath.
"Eject the mag fully, and reinsert it," Goliath answered.
I turned the gun so I could see the switch that probably ejected the fake magazine. It seemed like this class was focused on being as real as possible. I held the gun ready as the countdown began. The beasts started moving slowly at first. As if they were really coming to life.
They hissed, and growled as they pawed at the ground with their over sized hooves. I aimed, and started shooting the instant the starting horn went off. I had to shoot one of them six times to get it to go down. By then two of the others were charging me.
False Bearook kill 10xp awarded. 25/200 until level 5.
I dodged to the left for the first, and shot the other one in the head once. It reared screaming like a horse in pain. I jumped to the side to avoid his hooves as they came down where I had been a moment ago. This was already more exciting than the snakes. A smile split my face as I rolled to my feet.
I shot at it two more times as I scrambled back. I missed both times. It was a lot harder to hit something that was moving than it was to just shoot at the same spot over, and over again. It had been pure luck for me to hit the one as it rushed me. I tried shooting it again while it was jumping around angrily.
This time I hit it, and the sharp way it suddenly focused on me made me realize I should have taken the time to think about what I was doing a little more before shooting. I shot at it three more times. I hit it with two of those three shots as it charged me. I struck it with the gun as hard as I could, and it started melting.
Marksmanship level up. Marksmanship level 2. False Bearook kill 10 xp awarded. 35/200 xp until level 5. Mana absorption level up. Mana absorption level 3.
I wasn't expecting Mana absorption to level up, but I didn't have time to think about it right now. I got hit by the third one. I'd been too focused on the second one. I was thrown up, and off behind it. I landed a short distance from the creature, and rolled onto my back.
I emptied my clip at the creature. Three shots hit as the creature turned around angrily. I rolled as it tried to run me over. Somehow managing to only get clipped by one hoof instead of all four, but my small victory was forgotten as it clamped it's teeth around my arm. At first it's teeth didn't go in, but it adjusted its grip, and clamped its teeth down harder.
I cried out angrily as it yanked me up. I started beating it with my free hand. Punching it over, and over again. I didn't remember when I'd dropped the gun. Only that this thing was going to die.
I was going to make it die. I kept hitting it until it started to melt. I yanked myself free of the goop, and clamped my hand over the spot where I'd been bit.
35/200 xp until level up.
I looked at the wound. It was bleeding pretty good, but it didn't look deep. System my hp.
20/25 hp remaining. Exchange mp for hp?
"No," I noticed the ground shifting not far from me.
