The look on Luke's face. There was murder in his eyes. My murderous intent slipped out as well. Luke was pissed so he didn't seem to react, but everybody nearby gave us a wide berth. Backing off because they could sense danger coming from the two of us.
I yanked my arm out of his group. Stepping back, and moving so I could walk around him. Luke stepped to block my path.
"You're not going anywhere," Luke snapped.
"This isn't a sparring ring Luke," I yawned, "The teachers won't let you start a fight just any where you feel like."
Luke went for a punch. I opted to dodge stepping out of his reach easily. It was probably good that I'd stepped back when I pulled out of his grip earlier. I wanted to just ignore all of this idiots bullshit, but he was forcing it on me. My rage screwed my face into a scowl.
I was worn out, and hungry. This guy was pissing me off. I wanted to get food, and go back to my room so I could talk to Ethan. I'd promised to tell him everything. Luke when for a quick punch to my middle.
I used both hands to stop the punch, and was thrown back a few feet. My hands weren't broken, but they were shaking. He'd hit me pretty hard. I smiled as I looked at my shaking hands. I had gotten stronger.
Even if it wasn't much stronger. I didn't break when he hit me.
"What are you smiling about you idiot?" Luke tensed as he got ready to punch me again.
"My arms didn't break," I pushed the pain to the back of my mind as a stunned look crossed Luke's face.
"What?" Luke stepped back as I smiled wider.
Blood lust pouring out of my whole being as the wind picked up.
"I'm smiling because my arms didn't break," I stepped forward tensing my muscles as I got within inches of his face, "You hit me again, and I'll break you."
I stepped around him, and started putting distance between us. I didn't care about him right now as I pushed forward for the cafeteria. I hadn't noticed my hunger until Luke had attacked me. It would have been bad if I'd gone back to the room hungry. I walked into the cafeteria, and straight up to the counter.
I could hear the kids behind me whispering as I piled up my plate. They were probably placing bets again. I didn't care. I was hungry, and for the most part I only properly ate once a day. It didn't feel odd for me to eat once daily.
What felt odd was eating the snacks for breakfast, and dinner. I skipped most dinners. I didn't usually skip breakfast since Ethan went to eat breakfast. I stuffed down everything I put on my tray, and a few kids seemed to be happy about it. Luke could be pissed later.
I yawned as I put my tray in the dirty tray stack, and started to head for my room. I checked my watch for the time, and realized it had only been about four hours since I left the room. I thought about it for a minute before heading for the VR room instead. Ethan had paid for our time yesterday so I wasn't sure how many credits it would cost me. I didn't want to rely on his credit supply for these kind of things.
I walked up to the desk, and looked at the receptionist.
"Can I reserve some pod time?" I asked.
"It's ten credits for each half hour," she looked at me, "How long would you like to reserve?"
"An hour," I internally winced.
"Twenty credits," She held out her scanner.
Scanning my watch quickly. I heard the beep, and was handed a card. I read the card quickly. Heading for the pod it indicated. I laid back in the pod, and was scanned in quickly as the system synced up with the pod.
I switched to my human form in the lobby, and logged into PVP. I didn't think I was ready for battle royal yet, and it felt wrong to enter a team event without Ethan. I was transported into a small arena. It looked kind of like a roman battle arena.
"Cool," I looked around the space quickly.
"Easy fight," The guy on the opposite of the room laughed, "The way he's gawking he's clearly a newb."
A horn sound went off, and the other guy slammed his fist into the ground. The ground started wobbling under my feet. I switched forms opting for my more powerful form. The ground steadied a little since he was startled by the sudden change. I snarled, and darted straight for him.
He slammed his fists into the ground again, and dozens of spikes popped up between us. Interesting tactic. I switched direction suddenly backing off a little as I thought about what to do next. I couldn't just run through, and my one air ability that resembled an attack wouldn't do much against this guy. I needed something more focused.
I started pulling air in around me like air bubble. A small whirlwind formed around me before being focused into a single tightly wound slash of air. I'd heard of mages using wind to cut through opponents so I figured it wouldn't hurt for me to try it. I threw the wind slash forward. Taking out the first row of spikes easily.
New skill. Wind slash level 2. Cost 10 mp. Powerful blade like slash of wind.
A new skill that's already level two? I can't use it very much through I snorted angrily. I needed to get closer. Time to improvise. I circled the air around me again, but this time I didn't face it towards my enemy.
I faced it up from the ground at myself.
"AIR BURST!" I yelled as if it would make the spell more powerful.
Air rushed up from underneath me. Throwing my light little body into the air quite a ways. I used another air burst to propel myself out over my enemy. He was watching this whole mesmerizing scene of me being propelled over him, and then I was slowly falling back down right on top of him. At least that was what he thought was happening.
