The next day as I made my way down the hall to the front door, Arthur grabbed my arm and drug me back to his office, slamming the door behind us.
"Emory is coming for Tally," he growled as he walked towards his desk releasing me.
"Does she know?" I asked quietly.
He shook his head. "No, I've made sure they have no communication."
"What if she wants to go with him?" I asked suddenly.
Arthur's silver eyes glanced up. "He raped her..."
"She does not seem like she's been hurt to me," I crossed my arms. "She's been normal... well as normal as far as our family goes."
He narrowed his eyes. "You think she would give up my cousin for him?"
I nodded. "It's not like a normal friendship, Arthur. There's something there we just aren't getting. The imprinting is real."
He looked at his desk. "If you were taken from me would you try and make your way back?"
His question took me by surprise.
"Why?"
He growled. "Because I bloody well need to know what's going on in your head."
"Meaning?"
"You spreading your legs for me, was that simply duty?"
I sighed. "I've been asking myself the same thing." I bit my lip trying to reign in my tongue but it was no use. "Tally is pregnant, Arthur."
His eyes widened. "Is it..."
I put my hand up. "She doesn't know," I whispered. "I'm to take her to the clinic in Chelsea today to have blood drawn. They can run a genetics testing on the fetus' antibodies to see its ethnic traits."
He nodded. "May I come too?"
I shook my head. "No one else knows about this. She is telling everyone we are going to the shops."
He smirked. "Yet you told me."
"As my alpha..."
"Don't you dare lass, you told me as your mate and husband. You feel something for me."
"You arrogant bastard," I hissed.
"Yet, you confided in me," he smirked and seemed pleased with himself.
"I can't do this with you now..." I went to turn until his words stopped me.
"It must be destroyed if it is Eagle Horn's."
"It's half Tally either way," I glared. "You don't get to make this decision for her."
"It's The Law!"
"Screw The Law! I will fight every damned one of your men to protect her if she wishes to keep the child," I locked eyes with him.
"A child conceived from a crime has to be terminated," he refused to back down. "I'll be damned if my wife is put at risk trying to save a bastard forced onto Tally."
"Then you'll be damned then," I put my hands on my hips.
"If you're carrying as well? Would you risk our child for Emory's bastard?"
"I will raise Tally's child if she wishes to keep it."
"You didn't answer me, lass."
"It's too soon to know if I'm carrying. Regardless, Tally is my sister and I have failed her too many times."
"Guilt..." he realized.
"I will raise the child. But let us hope it is Harry's."
He raised an eyebrow. "I will not have you at risk."
"You know who I am, what I am. Ours was never going to be a smooth marriage."
"Do you swear that even with these bumps, you will remain loyal to me?" He offered an olive branch.
"I swear."
"Then if the child is Eagle Horn's and if she refuses to terminate, I'll have the child sent to Scotland to be raised by the Crone."
"The witch?" I gasped. "Arthur..."
"She's my grandmother," he explained. "The only creature that would ever be able to protect the child."
"Will you send our child to her if things get ugly?"
He shook his head. "Our child will be different. A child of the thunderheart and the supreme alpha chosen by Artemis, will most likely bring forth Apollo himself."
Something sprang to my mind as he spoke. "Diana..."
"What about her?"
I shook my head. "Nothing, I had a thought but then lost it." I lied.
He nodded. "Please let me know the results of her test."
"Yes, alpha."
"And Lilly…" he continued but stopped himself. "Please take care of yourself."
I raised an eyebrow. "Okay… promise."
