Chapter 21 - Mount Celeste

They were on their way to the largest mountain in all the world of Zoabos, Mount Celeste the mountain of the Dragons by airship.

"So, your Ancestor told you about traveling up a mountain that could kill us?" questioned Siegfried.

"Yes, do you not talk to your Ancestor Dragon?" asked Jecht.

"No, I never even spoke to mine," said Siegfried. "But it makes sense and might be our only way,"

"Thanks for believing me," said Jecht.

"Jecht, I can tell if you are a liar and so far, you told me nothing but the truth. we will climb this mountain or die trying," said Siegfried he turns and looks out the side. Jecht goes and sees Siri who is looking off the Airship at the ground below.

"Wow, I've never been up so high," said Siri,

"Really, but you flew pretty high when I saw you the first time in Skystead," said Jecht.

"I don't remember that," said Siri.

"Yeah, I figure. So, what do you think about climbing Celeste to the city with the same name?" asked Jecht.

"Yes, Celeste The Great Holy City and the birthplace of my father," said Siri.

"An from there we will stop Garyx from destroying our world," said Jecht.

They put on heavy jackets to climb the harsh environment of Mount Celeste they also brought climbing equipment.

"I wish you luck, Lord Siegfried," said Luna.

"Siri, stay close to us," said Jecht.

"Why are we bringing her?" asked Cronus.

"She actually the key to the front door," said Jecht.

"Yeah, plus I rather not climb down again just in case I need a Dragon Key," said Siegfried.

They start climbing up the mountain they stick to the trail. The mountain winds were blowing hard at them were strong enough to blow Siri away. One gust comes down and blow her back a few feet.

"Damn," said Jecht. He grabs her and takes some rope and ties it around her and him so she cannot fly that far. They continue their way up for the rest of the day. Siegfried sees it getting dark he then sees a small cave.

"We can take cover in there," said Siegfried. They all head to that cave. Siegfried opens a portal and grabs wood blocks and uses his Black Fireball to make a fire. They all surround it.

"Damn it freezing," said Cronus.

"frost beats lighting it makes sense why you are colder than us," said Siegfried.

"So, has anyone been up to the city?" asked Jecht.

"There are no records of human contact with the city," said Claire.

"No one was foolish enough to climb this mountain we are lucky we haven't encountered creatures yet," said Siegfried.

"They have to be tough to survive it up here," said Jecht.

"We only can go by old text from Dragonia and some are," said Claire.

"But we have nothing on the city or Celestial Cry," said Siegfried.

"It is the holy city of Io it forbidden place only the Dragon King is allowed there especially my brother, Bahamut in order to become King you must travel to City and he did that," said Siri.

"Damn he must be a tough one," said Claire.

"I see if he survived the harsh climate, he would have no questioned he was king," said Siegfried.

"There only been two the first and the last," said Siri.

"you are talking about your father, Io?" asked Jecht.

"Yes, he served our race as King for eons before his death, and that was when Bahamut was chosen to be King. sadly, his reign did not last long," said Siri. "most of my memory has returned The Dragon War back then was harsh it all started when my brother fell in love the Princess of Kingcardium."

"Yes, it was turned into a children's book the princess and the Dragon," said Claire.

"The Princess would eventually end up missing during the end of The Dragon War never to be seen again," said Siegfried.

"I believe she ran away horrified about what her Empire did to her lover's homeland," said Claire.

"I do to believe that," said Cronus.

"Never heard that story I guess it must be popular in the Empire," said Jecht.

"So, Jecht what were you doing before this?" asked Cronus.

"I was but a store merchant just living a normal life. But then I saw Siri flying in the sky and that's where it started," said Jecht.

"Really, that's pretty boring," said Cronus.
