"Bwahahaha! You made it! Did you properly say goodbye to your brethren?" The outsider wave his hand. He might be so happy to go home.
"I did."
I'm supposed to be excited but somehow, I can't bring myself to be happy. I'm sad. I'm wary. This is just too good to be true that I'm afraid I'll wake up soon from this wonderful dream
"They will be here soon."
I look at the sky. I don't know what kind of thing will appear.
I remember Raquel's dream to see a flying vehicle. I hope she'll see it fly past her house.
"NABI!"
My world sunk when I heard a very familiar angry voice coming closer.
Before I can see his face, two large stones bigger than my fist passed through me like lightning. No, I think it scratched my face a little bit. I can feel it burning.
That's not what's important, though. I'm sure that two stones hit the persons behind me.
I quickly turn around to see the outsider bleeding to death. He looks hopeless, with the stone punctured through his ribs. His left arm has deformed. His open eyes are blank.
I'm speechless.
What just happened? Is the chief as shallow and brutal as this? No. I'm too surprised to move. When I found a bit of strength to help the outsider, Roro stops me.
"Why did you do that?" I shouted. The chief has gone overboard. Is he doing this because the old man is a threat to the village belief or because he's taking me? Regardless, he should ask first like he always does. The chief might be notorious for his brute force but he's not a brute person. That's why all of these don't really make any sense!
"Stop there Nabi."
I froze.
I never saw the chief look this angry before. He resembles someone like a monster.
"You don't know anything about this man."
Is that all he's going to say?
I tried to push the chief aside, but he won't budge, not even an inch.
"Let me pass through. I got to save him or else...."
And then, a voice whisper to me. It was my sanity.
Or else you'll stay on this island forever.
I cried. Begging Roro to budge. Nothing happens. I almost give up when I saw the injured outsider's fingers move.
He's alive.
I might be the only person who's glad for I saw Roro's face turned dark.
"Tsk. As expected of a blessed."
