"That's absurd. It's not logical at all. Why would I believe that?"
"That's a good question." The outsider points out to the sky.
"Look."
I was shocked by what I saw. The sky is divided with many blinking bright lines.
Have they been there a long time ago? I doubt. What are they?
"You might not believe this kid, but it's that man's power."
The outsider mercilessly steps on the chief's neck.
More blood comes out from the wounds. Deep inside me, I already know that the man that has raised me dearly is already dead. I know that but I want to deny reality and that he's still breathing somehow.
"Stay away! Stay away!" I'm shaking, not out of fear but out of anger.
Although several parts of my body have already been severely injured, I managed to stand. Slowly, I approach the outsider. I know that I'm limping and that even a chicken can get away if I chase it with this strength but I got to move or the chief will die.
Sigh.
The outsider sigh.
"I'll give you credit."
He calmly said.
"What are you doing? I told you to stay away from him."
"What can you possibly do?" He teased.
Before I can react, he's doing it again. He kicked the back of my knee and hit my neck. Next thing I knew, I was kneeling with my head bow to the ground. He stepped on it. Blood dripping on my head, and I know it's not mine. It's from the chief. His cold blood drip from the outsider's shoe.
"I can't believe that all of these are happening." I can only cry. The thought of not being able to do anything hurts me more. I can't move.
The outsider grabs my hair and forces me to look up on the sky.
"I hit the jackpot thanks to you. After killing your leader, the stealth cover that hides this island from the rest of the world is now opening. Now, they're truly coming."
He grinned. Then, full of disappointment, he whispers on my air.
"I was supposed to bring you alive, to give you a public execution. That's how we killed the cursed in our world."
With a grimace voice, he continued.
"When he told you that the other side doesn't exist, you should have believed him. It doesn't exist, unless for your likes. You told me that your parents died from plague right? Congratulations. Your stubbornness had plagued this city. "
"As a reward for helping me, I can extend your life for five minutes. You can do a lot of things within those times. In our country, you can watch a video of your favorite girl group idol or singer. Well, Ktube doesn't exist on this island so I don't think that's going to be an option."
"Ah, maybe you can watch my team's massacre your folks. It's going to be very entertaining, I promise you. There will be explosives, lighting, ground shaking, and red blood showering on the air."
Every word he said just brings me to tear. I no longer have the strength to scream. All I know is that every part of my body hurts. I'm so sorry everyone. If I knew that I can't handle the truth, maybe I should have live as a believer for the rest of my life. Maybe, Roro won't get hurt. Maybe, Raquel, the rest of the children, and the elders won't be in danger. I'm a fool for not believing!
"P-please kill me al-already." I pleaded
.
"Why the hurry? I still wanted to have fun. With that, he manipulates the time again, and kick me back and forth. When all of my bones are broken and my face is deformed, he finally gives up and kicks me near the edge of the cliff, near the fall. Before giving the final blow, he said something that puzzles me.
"See you."
The last thing I remember is that I hit something hard before feeling the coldness of the water.
17 minutes after that, the land is swarmed by flying jets. The barrier that hides the isolated island from the world slowly disappears, just like the breath of the chief.
Three people, from different steady planes, came out. One of them, a small girl with short yellow curly hair skillfully climbed on the top of the plane. She looked at the natives living like cavemen. From above, she can see their dumbfounded face and the eyes. They look curious, scared, and pitiful; all expressions she really loved!
She smiled menacingly as she summons her power. First, her eyes then the rest of her body turn into amber. The two persons on standby along with other crews watch the sky glow in yellow. As she moves her hand down, more than a hundred of thunderbolts fall from the sky all at once.
It struck everything below. It burns houses, trees, and animals. The children who were astonished a while ago run in horror as soon as they realize the threat the invaders bring. Before they can jump on the sea or run into the forest, two of the men on standby jump from the plane. They're in charge of chasing and slaying the remaining survivors.
"I feel sorry for the cursed souls. If only their parents didn't conceive them, they will never feel such a pain." One of the men prayed.
"Harry, the cursed needs no sympathy." Nara shakes off the blood off his sword after beheading a six-year-old child.
"We need to finish this early. Start moving."
"I understand." Harry removed his glove. He placed both palms on the ground and in just five seconds, the ground including the water near the beach turn into hot lava. Cries of both humans and animals can be heard from different directions as the island turns into hell. The natives that have climbed on the trees weren't so lucky either. In just a minute, the soft hot land will swallow and burn everything.
"Father, are you dead?" Raquel's eyes are open yet she can't see anything. This is too soon. She thought. When she saw the plane for the first time, she's not a little bit happy but terrified. She already knew by then that something is wrong and that father can no longer protect them.
Her death will be faster if she was hit by the lighting. But no, she's still breathing. Although she no longer has the strength to scream as the scorching lava slowly swallowed the big stone she's lying on, she can still hear calm approaching steps, maybe from the enemies.
"I pray for her soul too. For her to die too young!"
The man said that before kicking her body to the burning lava.
