Chapter 31 - Processing the pearls

I started with the divine power pearl. To make a potion out of it I needed to dissolve it into a liquid and supplement it with additional ingredients to help cleanse and strengthen.

During my jungle trip, I had come across a multitude of plants and ingredients which I naturally collected. Now I sorted through the collection in my separate space to find things that paired well with light attributed divine power.

I decided to use the stalks of both the rumex acetosa and the rumex arifolius to make a concoction that would do well to complement and harness the divine power. The herbal concoction completed I enveloped the divine pearl with my magic and immersed it in the concoction.

Immediately the divine power started to grow violent as it began to dissolve in the slightly reddish liquid. I controlled my magic to keep a tight grip on the divine power and slowly merged it with the surrounding liquid that turned from reddish to a resplendent gold.

The divine power was now merged with the herbal concoction and completed the potion. Looking at it was quite pleasing and its effect upon consumption was sure to be good.

Throughout any living being's life impurities would be accumulated in the body. These impurities would then hinder the body from working at maximum capacity.

This potion now could to some extent clear the impurities in the body and increase your overall physique to another level. Sadly, it wasn't potent enough to have an effect on me or Aurelia anymore. So putting it into the auction was the best option.

Next was the faith pearl. Faith was usually a very gentle force that could be easily used to support its receiver. The only tricky thing was that it tended to dissipate quite quickly when one attempted to transfer it to another person.

This could naturally be avoided by condensing the faith into a crystallized form like the pearl I had. Just that the

faith couldn't show its beneficial properties while crystallized.

Therefore it too had to be merged with a herbal concoction albeit a much less potent one. Preferably one that helped digest the faith for optimal effect. I took the leaves and blooms of a galium odoratum and made a concoction of them. The small, sword-like leaves soaked in the hot water while the white funnel-shaped flowers floated up top, releasing a white substance.

The galium odoratum was a plant used to help people go to sleep or enter a trance-like state making it a very good choice to help with digesting faith.

I then took my time to slowly release the faith out of its crystallized form and merge it into the concoction. The already whitish fluid turned completely transparent and came to look rather ordinary.

Now, when selling something presentation of the merchandise was of great importance. Such an ordinary and transparent liquid would hardly look the part of a rare potion. And thus some deception was needed to make it look the part.

I picked up some berries from a light blue variant of the prunus mahaleb. The original plant produced reddish berries that were often used for edible coloration. Due to magic influences, the plant had mutated and gained a large spectrum of color like the light blue variant I had come across in the primal jungle.

Crushing those berries I added them to the potion to give it a rich aquamarine coloring. The only drawback was that most berries from the prunus mahaleb tasted sour and lessened the delectable sweet taste of the galium odoratum.

Both potions were completed and I was left with a feeling of emptiness at the thought that wouldn't be able to keep creating more stuff to keep my mind occupied. The process of potioneering always brought me a sense of fulfilling calmness. Similar feelings occurred when I was blacksmithing or doing any sort of demanding task that involved creation.

I still had materials left and the auction could use a few more items to display. I had a few ideas but most of them needed more research or cooperation from my friends.

For now, I'd make some simple scale and beast hide armor from the inferior materials I had gathered. Though I should hold back and keep them at the unique grade. One epic item was still within the confines of what these people thought possible but if we also sold a bunch of magic grade stuff...

The surrounding kingdoms would definitely go to extremes if we did that and the resulting casualties would only benefit our enemies.

I made ten pieces in total. Five from scales and five from beast hides.

Maybe it would be fine if I made one magic grade weapon. Yes, surely it would be fine if I used the most common of materials. Just some jungle wood would do.

I grabbed a cube of jungle wood from my separate space and began to form it into a sword using wood magic. I refined the wood to increase its density and sharpness then I packed it full with enchantments. And done was a wooden sword of bloody murder.

This was about all I should make for now. I left the room, not forgetting to add a name plaque for myself on the door, and looked for Aurelia to give her the stuff I made.

I found her in the auction hall expanding the room and creating a new interior. She had used a spacial enchantment to increase the auction halls size by more than a hundred times. A necessary upgrade considering that we would be making private booths for well-paying guests.

"Are you done preparing the items? I plan to set the auction date in two days' time. After I'm done with this place I'll put up the sign."

"All done with the merchandise. Where should I put it?"

"There is an exhibition hall on this floor close to the stairs of the entrance. Place them on the pedestals and have them protected by a formation, kay?"

"Sure thing. I'll drop them off and head over to the adventurers' guild to sign up."

"Then take this, it's enough for the admission fee and a little pocket money. Make sure to tell them you want to take the combat exam to determine your rank. I didn't and now I have to work my way up doing low-level quests."

A coin was tossed my way and I felt that Aurelia's attention returned to her work.
