Dan
When the 'storm' arrived, there was silence, as if it was waiting for someone or something.
I walked out the door to check the area because something felt off.
Before I could even look around, I slammed onto the floor by what appeared to be a man with a white face.
I looked around and noticed many white-faced men walking around.
The cabin door slowly creaked open as a middle-aged lady came outside with a quizzical look on her face, most likely she was wondering where I was.
The lady was quickly overwhelmed by the men and pinned to the ground.
I managed to bite the hand of the man pinning me down and barreled through the men pinning the lady. "Go inside and call the authorities. Tell them that there are some people attacking the mountain. I'll hold them off."
I threw a straight at one of them men and ducked to dodge a counter punch but was quickly buffeted by a flurry of punches and kicks from the rest of the men.
When my mother finally made it up the mountain, she was shoved down the mountain by one of the men.
I roared in outrage and charge towards the man who had shoved my mother.
I vaulted over one of the men and delivered a dropkick to the head of the one who had done the deed, knocking him off the mountain.
I spun around with my legs open to knock the men surrounding me off their feet before charging towards the cabin to protect anyone who tried to come out to help me from these men.
I grunted in annoyance as I ran: "How many of these guys are there?!" But before I could reach the cabin, I was knocked across the cabin wall by one of the men.
He aimed a punch towards my kidney but before he could throw it, he was slammed in the face by a frying pan.
"Too many for you to fight on your own." a sweet voice called out.
I smiled as Freda helped me up and I looked around. All around me, there were people from the cabins fighting the monsters.
"Those things aren't human." Dani explained "They are much more durable than a normal human so defeating them without a weapon of some sort would be-"
While Dani was speaking, one of the white-faced monsters started charging at her. The moment I saw this, I began to run towards it but Freda beat me to it and somehow, somehow managed to cleave the monster in two with her frying pan, which promptly broke.
Freda and I started walking to the cabin door where Sam stood, holding a bag filled with supplies and appliances to help those fighting.
Freda grabbed a new frying pan and went into battle. I reached for a knife, because I know how to use them very well, and followed after her.
Together, we manage to defeat enough of them that the older and younger people helping us fight could go and rest in the cabin and help Sam tend to the injured.
We thought we were going to win but we were wrong.
More of the white faced men charged in from another side of the mountain, cutting us off from our weapon and care supply.
Then I heard a voice.
'Move with the flow of the wind.'
I started cleaving through the enemy ranks hoping to clear a path to the cabin.
'Swirl it around and deliver a powerful blow.'
I slashed at one of them and swirled my arm around before punching forward with the other hand.
'This technique, is Wind Blast!' the voice faded
"WIND BLAST!!!" I shouted
The monsters in my way were blown apart as if they had been hit by a cannon.
"Such power! This explains why he was able to fight and survive for this long!" the woman from earlier exclaimed.
I charged towards another white-faced monster but my body collapsed from exhaustion.
I grunted and tried to stand up again but that caused me to fall harder.
Then a heatwave passed by the battlefield.
"Burn away foul beasts!" a figure with auburn hair and dark skin called out as she descended from the sky.
A manly figure with dirty blonde hair descended behind the first figure, which I had identified to be female, carrying our mother in a Bridal carry.
"Dad!" "Dad!?" Dani and I exclaimed in unison.
Our Dad told our mom to go protect the cabin before sighing and facing us: "There's no time!"
"No time for wha-" Dani began.
"Liran, take the kids and go to Maron. I'll handle the Grugnons and the people!" Dad commanded.
The female figure, presumably Liran, grabbed Free, Dani, Sam and I and flew into the sky grumbling, "Damn it Mach. Why do you always have to play the hero and stop me from mas- purging the monsters!?!"
Once I regained feeling in my legs, I noticed that they were quite toasty despite the fact that we were very high up in the air. So, I looked down at them.
Behind us, there was a trail of clouds. And small flames were blazing from the soles of Ms. Liran's feet.
I shook myself out of my stupor and decided to ask Ms. Liran the most important question, "Why is my dad here instead of overseas doing military stuff?"
Ms. Liran giggled a bit before responding, "Well, sometimes it is better to skip work to save some people than to work and let them die."
Eventually, we reached the edge of a forest where a portly, dwarf-like man stood, leaning against a hammer.
"Mar honey, can you look after these kids so I can go fight some monsters?" Mrs. Liran begged as she dropped as off.
"Sure diamond." he smiled before turning to us with with a frown. "You kiddos are to call me Mr. Maron, Uncle Maron or just Maron. You do not have the privilege to call me any fancy, smancy nicknames yet."
I rolled my eyes before cracking a quick quip, "I didn't know fantasy dwarves were real!"
Maron glared at me sending several shivers down my spine. "You better watch your mouth kiddo!"
"Could you please explain what's going on Mr. Maron?" Freda asked
Maron grabbed something from his back pocket but shoved it back in when he noticed Sam's presence. "Well, to put it simply, you guys are about a third of our successors." he turned towards Freda and I and closed his eyes before continuing. "If I was too guess, I'd say mini-Mach has Wind Core Energy and the nice lady with red-and-blue hair has Fire Core Energy. Am I right?"
I looked at him strangely causing him to sigh and lead us through the forest.
----------???-----------
"M-mistress, the attack was unsuccessful. They escaped with the help of your friends and are most likely heading to the Dragon Heart as we speak." I reported.
"Send another army to attack the Dragon's Heart while they are gone." she commanded.
"What monsters will compose this fleet?" I asked.
"Tresdas and Grugnons as usual." she answered.
"Don't we need the Essence of Vengeance from killing those who killed him to get our wish granted, you're sending too many fleets out at once already and the side-effects on your body from utilizing so much DCE could be disa-" I stalled.
"I've handled everything." she snickered.
"Alright!" I internally sighed.
It seemed like she might find out my plan ahead of schedule.
"Isn't this wonderous my child. We can save your cousins and my husband in one fell swoop if this carries through." she laughed.
"Yes Mother." I nonchalantly responded.
"Mother? I told you not to call me that until I brought your father back." she stared me dead in the eye.
"Sorry I-" I began.
"All is fine my child. As long as this plan goes well, your father's life is as good as back." she interrupted.
But I knew the problems this plan would cause. What point was there in seeing dad if the world would die once we did. The time for action, was now!
