That traitorous son of mine actually decided to protect the Dragon's Heart and possibly the world over seeing his father again.
His safety tracker's signal disappeared when he arrived close to the Heart; Maron must have done something to it.
Two of the ten have awoken. Normally, I'd say four given how the Heart works but the book says ten so that must mean more people have the chance. If I remember the prophecy well, it said that the chosen generation would be made of ten humans and two god-like beings. If the chosen are really this generation, that means that my son could be the strongest user of Demon DCE and, had he not run away, Devil Core Energy.
I have prepared an army of Grugnons, Treesdas and Qwerts. Jaden is the only one that can actually hurt Qwerts but since he would focus more on killing them painlessly, their high speeds will eliminate most, if not all of his options.
Jaden was lucky that I decided to take him seriously. No self-respecting semi-monster would allow their child to hate seeing people and monsters die. I would finally be able to teach that child of mine how the world works.

In my life, I have only had three female figures to look up to and now, Aunt Liran has joined that group and with her, more annoying males.
Well, except Jaden. He saved me and is cute and quite smart too. The way his hair covers one of his eyes even adds a layer of mystery to him. I wish I could just stare at him forever. I wished to know everything about him from his likes to his family roots...
I tried to ask him but before I could, we were attacked by monsters. Fast monsters were part of this group and dodged everything we threw at them. The only ones who could touch them were Aunt Liran and Dad but their 'DCE' did nothing against them. Furthermore, they were unarmed; they left their weapons in a tent we set up on the far side of the Heart to train us in the use of our 'DCE.'
The monsters were gradually wearing us down: minds, spirits, bodies and weapons.
"Da-Crap! We need speed! Dad, do you know about some kind of speed enhancing thing we can use." I called out
"Liran and I could train Dan and Freda's speed but we don't have time for that..." he thought as he blasted himself out of a slash from the fast monsters. "Mar, Liran, protect the kids and the Heart. I'll go to the Wish Orb and ask it to awaken Danielle's DCE."
Dan covered his blade with a layer of white energy and tried to slash and enemy with it but the energy was dispelled the moment he slashed. "You still haven't explained to us what DCEs are Dad."
Jaden's eyes locked onto one of the fast monsters and it immediately turned into ashes. "Basically think of DCEs or Dragon Core Energies as the power that flows through us because of the Dragon's Heart. CE or Core Energies are the power that flows through us due to our nature mastery of the basic DCEs."
"We don't have time to sit here and wait dad. The earlier the better." I complained
"It takes time to make a cloud network okay." he snapped
"Be careful angel." Jaden whispered as I entered the portal.
'Angel. He called me an angel. That must mean he likes me back.'
"Whatever!" I blushed

My Danielle might act tough but deep down, she's just a fluffy, light-loving, weeby girl. When I saw her blush at what my sister's son said my first instinct was to panic. How can my daughter and my nephew be in love. Then I just let it slide. She can like whoever she wants to. I mean, everyone in the world is related by blood after all.
The path to the Wish Orb was long and quite frankly, boring.
I can't use the clouds to teleport there because it's like a mini Sun but without the brightness and heat. It dispels clouds.
Then I remembered a game my mother, the previous wind guardian, had taught me. "Danielle, let's play a game as we walk."
"Fine but I'm quite exhausted so can we keep it short." she sighed
"The game is called WhAt If and the rules are simple: Identify an object and its past using your DCE, that step is optional; then you think of a problem for it to solve and use your DCE to command it to solve a problem created by the other player. Then when you've finished all the problems, you can have your object and the other person's object FIGHT TO THE DEATH!!!" I explained
"Sounds boring."
Those two words struck a thousand arrows through my chest. "T-then what do you want to do."
"I dunno understand how DCE works, learn what my DCE is, learn to use my DCE."
'She's only interested in training'
And then I shouted.
"What's wrong dad." she asked concerned
"We passed the turn we needed to make to arrive at the Wish Orb's location."
And the she groaned: "Daaad!"
I covered my head expecting her to hit me. "Sorry"
We backtracked and took a turn towards the Orb's location and I asked Dani to ask for her DCE to awaken because I had recently used my once-a-decade wish since I was broke.
Instead, she wished for all the world's wisdom without the complications involved.
Golden rings formed around her eyes as the Orb became a golden smoke swirling around her.
The Orb's entrancing voice came out from Danielle's voice "Danielle Dragonborne. Second twin of Machia and Lizari Dragonborne. On this day it shall be known, you are my new self and then incarnation of the Holy Ancient. Take your tool and absorb its strength."
The smoke coalesced and became a Golden scythe in her hands. I recognised its shape and markings as that of the original Scythe of Holiness. One of the twelve weapons created by the Dragon Ancient for his peers; one of the weapons used to seal Chaos into the Heart and according to the prophecy; the weapon to be recreated and wielded by the 12 guardians destined to destroy Chaos and establish a New Balance in the world.
'My daughter is the Holy Guardian in the prophecy.'
What's more, the golden rings around her eyes merged with them giving them a golden glow. Her new Scythe disappeared when she tried to put it into her holster in replacement of her old one.
She gave me a confused stare but I told her to worry about her friends first.
With the Wish Orb gone, I could summon a cloud portal in our location without a problem. When we arrived, I noticed how battered everyone appeared to be. They appeared to be down in spirits but before I could encourage them, a golden smoke formed around Danielle and her Scythe appeared in her hands.
"Shinyo!" she called and a giant golden Seraphim formed behind her. "Majin Slayer!!!"
The Seraph slammed its two lower wings into the ground and caused a ring of energy to form around the field.
She dashed towards one of the monsters attacking Jaden and cleaved it faster than it could react.
"So awesome!!!" Jaden muttered
It was truly an amazing spectacle watching her cleave through enemies like they were butter while her summon decimated other with slashes from its wings.
Within no time, she had won us the battle. But I knew we would be attacked as soon as we let down our guard so I made sure we were training in preparation.
It wasn't until training that I noticed Sam had sustained a critical injury in the battle. If Danielle and I hadn't treated it quickly, it could have ended him.
"How do you feel?" I asked when we were done expecting him to say he was hungry.
"Hungry." he answered
"You are so predictable." Danielle muttered voicing my thoughts.
"Don't start bickering now. We're all safe now so let's just focus on that." Jaden interrupted being his unusually optimistic self.
And then I blacked out.
'Machia, this is not the end. Soon, you'll be bowing down to me begging me to not open the Heart.' my sister's voice spoke
"Never! You'd have to kill me before I'd even allow you to touch the Heart." I shot back
'That can be arranged.'
"Sis, just rejoin the good side please. We need to work together if we want to stop all the Followers from unleashing Chaos ad empowering him."
'After what you did. The chance of that happening is about as low as the chance of pigs learning how to fly.'
"That can be arranged."
'Sometimes you are just so... dumb you know that.'
"The join me in the kingdom of dumbness sis."
I could feel her eyes rolling at that. 'Nevermind just wake up. Buf first, I need you to p-'
I woke up completely drenched in ice-cold water. Danielle had poured a bucket on me to wake me up.
Within no time, it was time for rest. I couldn't train anyone but Dan to use their DCE and Liran and Maron were at their posts watching for enemies. I told the kids to go and sleep.
While they slept, I filled a bucket with water and cooled it with my CE then poured it over Danielle's sleeping form and ran to were Liran and Mar were.
"Our suspicions are correct!" I laughed

I was enjoying a dream when a certain darkness crawled in.
'Jaden, you're a demi-demon start acting like one. Don't you realise they are just going to use you and throw you away when they are done. Just follow me and you'll be safe. Please Jaden.' my mother's voice pleaded.
"Never! I want to be here. I can protect you from here and maybe when the prophecy unfurls, I can bring dad back." I counter pleaded
'Please come back.'
"Never."
'You must'
"I don't care."
'Please, please, please'
"Mum, you know I can't stand the death that constantly happens there."
'Fine, I'll let you go back to your dreams but know that I'll crush you all the same.'
"I'd like to see you try."
Then I found myself in the perfect dream. I was painting a picture of Danielle while a fuzzy white-and-black thing flew around me.

I found it. The place the darkness had called me to. I rested there.

When I woke up, I found the thing from my dream above my head. It slept there peacefully so I didn't bother to move. Instead, I used my Maou to lift myself upwards to an upside down position so it wouldn't notice me removing it.
It was a little bat. When I put it down, it woke up. I had some training in the language of animals and beasts since my dad liked having conversations in both his snake and chimera forms. So I tried convincing it to leave as this would be a warzone. But it retorted by saying something along the lines of me being its owner so it couldn't leave. I decided to let it stay and sleep in my tent because the little puffball was too adorable.
My uncle opened the legend book to the page detailing the elements I drew their symbols and made sure to remember them to heart. I had already seen this but some of the elements that appeared here didn't in my mum's copy and vice versa.
There are twelve elements a guardian can obtain. Technically ten because the last two only exist in the oldest Ancients and the youngest guardians in the prophecy. The elements all have two stages. A base stage and an enhanced stage at which they are always classified as CE. Fire becomes Inferno Core Energy, Wind becomes Storm Core Energy, Holy becomes Angel Core Energy, Demon becomes Devil Core Energy etcetera.
After the lesson, Danielle asked me to draw her so I did. My bat friend woke up and came flying towards me and I had a strange sense of Deja Vu.
But alas we were attacked before I could finish. Fortunately, I had managed to gather some data on the Qwerts and made them card for them using my art skills and my DCE.

We were attacked by more of those fast monsters but this time, they attacked in tandem with Tresdas and Grugnons.
Jaden quickly announced their info. "They are Qwerts: only Demon/Devil, Holy/Angel, Mind Control/Psychic and Shadow/Darkness can hurt them in terms of DCEs and CEs. They are incredibly hard to hit without setting up some kind of field and their blunt elbow-blades make it easy for them to torture their enemies to death."
"Then only you and I can fight them properly." Machia's 'little princess' told him.
"Yes but don't set up your Demon Slayer field. I can't activate my DCE when you do so unless I use my counter DCE which will inhibit yours." Jaden complained
"I can synchronise with you to cancel the effects on each other" she figured "Shouldn't be too hard."
"Then let's show that what a demon and an angel can accomplish when they work together."
"Majin Slayer!!!" "Counter Field: Angel Slayer!!!"
And the dance of scythe and magic slayed many of the monsters. Some of the monsters carried stuff in their hands so we ended up getting some loot from them.
I saw a black orb with a purple and green swirl within them and I exclaimed "The Fate Orb!!! Why do weak monsters have such a powerful relic."
