Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 Revenge

A pulse of power surged through him. His heart began beating rapidly. It felt like the blood in his veins were on fire. What happened next was pure instinct. Sven swiftly got up, and with a flick of his hand, he lobbed of the arm swinging down the blade. Before his arm could hit the floor. He already reached through the man's stomach and pulled a piece of his spinal column out with ease. As he saw the bone in his hand he realized his fingertips were now claws. He didn't even have time to process the meaning of this. Because the mage yelled out.

"It wasn't the girl, surround him now!"

He quickly took 3 runes out of his pocket and dropped them into the earth as they sank into the soil. He reached his hand out as if to grab something, and began a new chant as the warriors surrounded him. Two attacked from the front, while the other quickly takes his blindside. They are charging side by side. The one with the ax swings heavy to right intending to lob off his head. The one on the left wields a sword and is aiming a thrust straight for the heart. The one flanking him is charging in ready to severe his spine if, the other two should fail. This group is heavily trained against fighting of tera, and are willing to exchange their lives to get the kill. Sven dropped the bone from his hand, and swiftly swung his claws horizontally. The warriors in front saw this, and duck in an attempt to catch the claw to the helmet. Since their armor was crafted for fighting creatures like these it's extremely durable. What they didn't expect was his claws are so sharp they went straight through the armor as if a sword was chopping at the mud. Their heads immediately spilled open. It was a light rain of blood, skull fragments, and brain matter.

Claws are common among the tera when in human form, but they never been known to be that sharp without releasing their bloodline fully. For someone who possesses claws this sharp at the start of their cultivation was unheard of. Is this really a tera they been properly trained to fight? Ran through both the remaining men's heads. The warrior from behind made contact piercing through the flesh and feeling it connect with bone. He then twisted the blade to increase the damaged area. Sven dropped to a knee momentarily. All tera have some form of regeneration, but even the strongest ones in human form will take time to regenerate bones. At the very least he bought five to ten minutes for his comrade to finish his magic, or so he thought.

Sven immediately stood back up, the wound in his back was already fully healed leaving the warrior speechless. Sven turned quickly and was about to finish off the final warrior, but suddenly the three runes shot out of the ground. Two came up where the dead warriors laid, and the other under the remaining warrior. The weapons they use are imbued with runes. They help them to pierce the tera's dense skin. They also have a link to the runes dropped by the mage to help them set up a binding spell. When they attack even if they were to die in the process they could still help. So long as they followed the formation, and trusted their comrades to do the same. It gave them a chance to help strike down their enemy even from the grave.

A powerful beam of energy shot between the runes connecting them, and it quickly pulled together binding him. His whole body was halted. The warrior quickly closed the distance and pierced the heart. Sven winced from the pain, but he still lived. Some tera can only be killed through beheading. So he went to the next viable option, and he cleaved for the neck. His blade broke the skin but got caught in the bone. How powerful is this man? The blade was wedged in the bone, and it was now stuck due to his rapid regeneration.

"That's enough, he's clearly something new, and is too durable for the usual methods," the mage said having finished his chant a weapon form in his hand. It was a hammer of pure electricity.

"Regardless of how strong this abomination is no way he can endure this level of magic. Your time has come." He sneered as he closes the distance

The warrior has already started his retreat. He isn't capable of defending himself from the impact of the blow to come.

"Why can't your kind just be gone already? You sit here on this farm and play at being human. It's disgusting, you're a stain on the world. I won't rest till your kind has been cleansed from the earth. It's a shame so many people had to die because of a pest like you. I regret the deaths of the villagers, but not the girl. Judging by how you held her head she probably was your girl, wasn't she? What if she had your spawn, and the cycle was to repeat itself on and on. It's better she died here then to sire more trash into the world.." the mage ranted on

They had just barely started to live the life they always dreamed of. Their love was innocent and pure. Hearing him mock her while her body is still growing cold on the ground. Her lifeless head on the ground is a constant reminder of his failure to protect her. The fact that his father's last words were sorry like he had done something wrong to him. The sorrow was heavy, and it weighed him down. He remembers his father teaching of how a warrior must be ruthless in battle and turned his sorrow into more anger. The sky darkened, lightning began crackling down, and the barrier began to rumble. The ground started to crack, and a strange aura began emitting from Sven. This was no ordinary awakening, every god, tera, and powerful magic wielder on the planet felt it. A tingle of fear went down their spines. They all looked in the direction of the power trying to pinpoint it.

Seeing the barrier giving away, he realized his mistake in taunting his enemy. It is no easy task to shatter the barrier with attacks, but he used nothing but his aura. He threw the hammer for he feared he could not close the distance on his speed alone, and knowing that even if he broke free from his binding so long as it connected it was sure to be fatal. Sven broke free of the barrier and placed his hand out in an attempt to block the attack. Assuming because he grew back part of his spine. That one arm would mean nothing right? What he wasn't expecting was the hammer halting at his hand. It was warm in the palm of his hand, and he clenched his fists closed. The hammer shattered, and lightning exploded all around him. He was barely scratched, his clothes had been almost completely shredded in the process, but his body was fine. After a moment of awe in himself, he readjusted his gaze onto his target.

The mage had never witnessed something like this in the past twenty years hunting. He was overwhelmed with fear and seeing this shattered his fighting spirit. For that was the strongest magic he could wield. The ground broke under each footstep Sven took, and the mage accepted his fate dropping to his knees. He would never beg for his life to those abominations. The warrior who had left the barrier saw he was distracted in his rage and was focused only on the one in front of him. He knew it was his last chance to escape. He did escape out of the fear of death. He had to make sure the report of this encounter was documented. The information learned today could save many more lives in the future. The mage was grabbed by the face and smashed into the earth with brute force. He felt him slowly squeezing his skull making sure he felt the pain of dying slowly. Before the crunch, and the light faded away there was a memory that flashed before his eyes.
