Chapter 5 - Chapter 4 Family

The memory flashing through his mind. Was one of pure joy, but followed by deep sorrow. He had a wife and a young daughter. They lived a calm, and peaceful life. He no longer participated in the art of war. He now wanted to focus on building his family. It was truly the happiest days of his life. One night something broke in through the side of their house. He could hear it rummaging through the rooms. He quickly grabbed his sword and was ready to protect his family from the threat. When he saw the intruders face he froze. It was a young girl from the neighboring town he recognized. She had this dead look in her eyes like she was empty of emotion. At that moment he hesitated. With those two seconds of hesitation, a life was taken. It cut down his wife who was shielding their daughter with her bare hands. It then grabbed his daughter and fled the house. He chased the trail relentlessly searching for his daughter. He began to find blood but continued on despite the gut-wrenching feeling he had.

Finally, he had caught up to the blood trail. His daughter was laying on the ground cold as ice, and her skin white as snow. Her pretty white clothes were now stained a rust-like color. The smell of copper was strong in the air he could even taste it. He held his dead daughter in his arms refusing to let her go. It was morning when a man in black approached. He offered his condolences and explained to him what happened. That young girl he had always seen playing around so happily. Well, she is a great descendant of a powerful Lamia. Who in the war for Greece devoured many demigods left littered across the lands. She took joy in the snatching of children, for young blood always tasted the purest to her. Toying with her prey was a regular game to her.

Though this girl's soul was pure and she had committed no crimes. Simply because there is a "stain" in her bloodline she awoke an appetite when entering puberty. What started at first is the urge to eat raw meat. After a few days that no longer satisfied her hunger. Now she had an extreme thirst that no amount of water can quench. Next was a day of sheer pain, and she believed she would die of starvation. She accepted that as her fate. For she didn't wish to give in to these tainted urges. However, death is not the fate of those tera stricken by hunger. What comes is a loss of will. The killing of his wife and daughter were not the choices she made. The voice that laughed as the child knew it's fate didn't come from her. Had she found other prey to feed on to sate her taste for fresh blood. She would've never lost control. She could've lived a human life for the most part. Even go on to have normal kids, a family.

"They're some out there who believe they deserve the chance to find balance and live a life of peace. Who only kill those who stray off to humans, and have wicked intentions" The mysterious man said.

He listened trying to wrap his head around these monsters existing.

"We are not them. We don't wish to gamble the lives of regular people out in the world. We want to wipe these abominations clean off the face of the earth. Even if it's culling the entire family tree to ensure no more can awaken. You should bury your family though. Try to find peace in life again. You can live on wary of the shadows, or you can come with me. To ensure this never happens to anyone else."

Sven continues to bash his body repeatedly into the ground until it was a pile of flesh. It was the only way to relieve his pain. While he was doing this a portal came up from the ground. It smelled of sulfur. A beautiful pale woman with short black hair and blue eyes had come through it. The curves on her body could entice any straight man, and her gaze was captivating. She had a huge sword, on her back, and was clad in black armor. Svens body was tired, but he assumed this was another companion of their come to finish the job. He got himself ready to fight, even though his body felt like glass. He released an intense killing intent to the woman.

"Keep staring at me like that, and your gonna make me blush." She whispered in his ear in a flirting tone.

'How did she get behind me, she didn't move she just vanished, and reappeared.'

Sven tried to react, but she knocked him out swiftly. With a wave of her hand, the bodies of his loved ones sink into the earth. Then she carried him through the portal as it closed behind her.
