In a population of billions there is atleast one
person who is sad, happy, scared and angry. Looking at the ceiling Esmeralda thought of the things going on presently in her life, how her life felt useless and worthless to her, with no hope, no faith, and no possibility. Just void.
With a tired sigh she got out of bed and walked towards the balcony that overlooked the vast garden that accommodates different types of flower and trees making it look like a mini forest in the huge property.
Leaning against the rim she stared at the blue clear sky with a face filled with indescribable emotions. Averting her gaze from the sky she stared at the garden lost in her pool of thoughts. Why can't I live a simple life without problems engulfing me?. I'm tired of all this.
Her emerald green eyes fixated on a rosebush that was withering away slowly. Well that could be use to describe her present situation. Her life-force was draining.
Knock! Knock!!
Her attention shifted towards the door and she wondered who was on the other side. From her knowledge, nobody was home except for the helps and it wasn't lunch time anyways so who could that be? Dragging her body away from the sky's gaze she walked towards her door and opened it.
" Hello Nana!"
Not surprised, Esmeralda stared at the tall alabaster skinned man dressed in a royal blue suit in front of her. Their alabaster skin was the only thing they had both had in common.
" Why are you here?"
Straight to the point. No hugs. No nothing. The man smiled at her and answered in a calm voice.
"I came back to get some papers and thought I should stop by and say hi."
"Okay bye."
Attempting to close the door on his face the man swiftly slided into the room and made himself comfortable on her bed. So soft and comfortable.
"Can I stay here for a moment?"
"No"
Her cold voice rang in the man's ears and he whined.
"Why?"
"Because I said no."
The man couldn't believe this. His sister was clearly chasing him away. He eyed her stance and shivered slightly. She was scary even when she wasn't doing anything. He should have gotten used to her demeanor by now but it isn't an easy task.
"Fine I'll get going."
The tall man got up from the bed and huffed fully aware of the pair of blank eyes watching him. Stopping a distance away from the door he turned back and looked at her.
"Do you want me to get you anything."
"No."
Esmeralda answered coldly, arms folded and her eyes blank as usual.
"You sure?"
Esmeralda knew that if she didn't give this big baby an answer he would keep on bugging her till she agrees.
"You really want to get me something?"
The man nodded his head like a puppy and his eyes twinkled.
"Fine. Get me a chain viper and a tarantula. It wouldn't be bad if we have more pets in this house to keep us busy since we are idle. What do you say?"
She raised her brow at him accompanied with a blank expression.
Kyle froze at her request and suggestion. The twinkle in his eyes disappeared in a blink of an eye.
"You know what? I don't think you need anything for now so I'm just going to go now. Bye!"
With that he slipped out if the room and closed the door behind him.
Esmeralda shook her head at her brother's behaviour. She knew he wouldn't let her go so she decided on the most dangerous request she could think of and also asked for his suggestion knowing he would eventually pretend like he didn't hear her.
Time does fly by. Just years ago her brother, Kyle, was crying over a scratch on his knee and now, he was a grown up man managing one of the biggest empire known. What an achievement! But that of his couldn't compare to that of Esmeralda's.
With her hands stuffed in her sweatpants pocket she strided towards the her walk-in closet. Unlike most closet this one was practically filled with clothes and shoes of different kinds and brands. All having their price tags on it showing that they've never been worn.
But why keep this many dresses if she wasn't going to wear them? Well, her sister was a fashion designer and expert and loves visiting the mall anytime she travels around the world for her shows.
Esmeralda remembered the first time her sister started her shopping spree. Anastasia claims that eighty percent of her shopping list had Esmeralda's name written on it. Knowing that it wasn't entirely true, Esmeralda didn't didn't mind and went along with her sisters adventure.
On the other side of the closet were hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants and sneakers. That was her favorite place. Anastasia even named the hoodies she makes after Esmeralda. So whenever she goes on her shopping adventure she doesn't forget to buy hoodies and sweatpants for Esmeralda.
