Chapter 1 - A Friendly Encounter

The black man about 5'11 wearing a mailman uniform covered in blood, who's skin resembled black chocolate. He sat on top of a building. The man had short curly black hair, he also liked the large scar across his left chin, but he hated how he got it. That scar reminds him of his carelessness. Then, the roof door begins to get slammed against a large object. Before the door gets slammed open, he jumps off the building, feeling the smooth breezy against his beard.

He opened his eyes, seeing himself in an empty white room with two wooden chairs, both facing one other in the mild of the chairs was a wooden table. On the table were bread inside a basket, a slice of vanilla cake, and tea. Across the table is an old white man with gray hair, wearing a suit and tie. The man was holding a newspaper in his hand.

"Welcome to my home, take a seat, and grab some bread to enjoy with the tea." the old man says

"Did you bring me here, or have I died," the man asked?

"I didn't bring you here this your own doing." said the old man

"What is your name," asked the man. The older man put down his newspaper.

"They call me Seer," said the old man grasping at a piece of bread and putting cream on it. "What do they call you?" asked Seer while he took a bit of the bread.

"Well, I don't know what they call me, are you... god? The man asked, still puzzled where he was.

"I'm like god but much more different, but let's get on the topic of you, first give yourself a name," said Seer

"Sure...um, I guess, I'll go for John Doe, I suppose." said the man.

"I like it. It has a nice ring to it, but why did you pick that name?" asked Seer.

"I don't know. It just came to mind," replied the man,

"Alright, back to the topic of hand, it seems like your, not a human; you're a being called a jumper. They can go to other universes." the Seer says

"Being able to jump to a different universe," said John with a smile while taking small bites of the cake.

"A jumper also lets out a unique type of energy that can be tracked by anyone that would want to get their hands on you." said the old man while he butters his bread.

"Like who would want to get their holds on me," asked John scratching his head.

"Well, demon and monsters who think you're a tasty snack and other jumpers." said the Seer while he snapped his finger. John's body begins to tense up as if he was in neck-deep concrete. His eyes start to glow a light purple, making him feel warm.

"Do you recollect anything about your powers?" asked the Seer, curious about what type of power he has."

"Yes, I do remember my powers, and I remember what they do; my power is I'm able to turn myself bigger, and I have super speed," John responded.

"That's a good sign that means you can protect yourself somewhat," Seer said. John then began seeing the different types of lights floating around the used to be an empty white room.

"Do you remember anything else?" asked the Seer.

"No, not at all... Well, no, I do remember information but not how I learned it," replied John.

"Alright, this is the last question. Do you want to go back to your homeworld?" asked the Seer.

" I don't know, maybe not, after all, I got killed right," said John as he looked down at his bloody shirt.

"Maybe you got a kill, but you can't change anything about it. As a jumper, though, you can do whatever you please. So that why I have a proposition for you," said Seer.

" What might that be?" asked John

"Well, once every decade, I choose someone to be my servant, and today is the day," Seer answered.

"What type of work would I be doing, and what would I get in return?" John asks him as he tilts his chair backward.

"Well, you will just have to deliver something, and you get free information depending on what it is," replied Seer

A shimmering blue portal appeared beside him. "Unfortunately, our time is up, so do you choose to be a servant and get benefits, or do you want to leave here with no befits," Seer said.

"Fine, I will be your servant," John answered quickly.

"Smart choose, but before you go, I have to give you something," said Seer handing a small red notebook with a tile. "The way to Jump" and a little blue box wrapped in a red bow. John grabs both of the items and puts them in his pocket.

"The book will give you information, and the box is the last resort if you're about to die," said Seer

"Oh, ok then, is that all" John asks him. Seer nodes in agreement John walks through the portal.

"Well, he's fucked," the Seer said out loud to himself while drinking his tea.

John finds himself in a grassy plain, seeing a big giant tree that reaches as far the eyes can see, a sudden gust of wind blow finding that the portal has vanished. John gets the sense that people are there. He open's the small notebook to see if it provides any meaningful information. He opens it up to see all the book pages are blank.

"Damn, he gave me a useless book," John snarled, not knowing where he was. Looking around, he only sees the grassy plains. John sighs as he stares back at the book. He then puts the book in his pocket.

"I should have picked reincarnation, but who knows if he did that, he might have been a crazy god."

"Four hours of walking towards the giant tree, and it feels as if I made no progress. I will probably walk an extra three to four hours, and by that time, it would already be dark", John said out loud to himself.

"I should probably run it shouldn't take me that long to get there," he said to himself.
