Everyone in the Rosters castle moved swiftly as they cleaned the castle and got ready for their visitor of the Riverdale Kingdom to arrive. The maids dusted every corner of the castle and the butler ordered things around- or at least he would be if Lady Francis wasn't doing his job.
Lady Francis is King Raymond's little sister, the Lady of the castle. She would have moved out of the castle by 20 like all the other dukes and duchess' of any royal family, but her brother and her held a strange connection and they didn't want to leave the other by themselves so Lady Francis stayed in the castle with the King. She helps him with his work, it's like they rule the Kingdom together.
The carriage heard outside was being pulled to a stop, and King Raymond and Lady Francis went to stand infront of the castle doors which were now being held wide open by two male maids.
Malphus got out of the carriage first, followed by Valerie.
"Greetings King Malphus." Raymond bowed his head.
"No need for the formalities Ray. No one is around but you, me and little Francis." he said looking and Francis and continued "I supposed Francis isn't so little any more." Malphus sent Francis a wink that went unnoticed by everyone but the lady herself and Valerie.
"Of course I'm still that same little ball energy you remember, Malphy." Francis said with a bit of bright pink on her cheeks. Francis had a crush on Malphus since they were little kids and would meet up, along with the other royal children of the four kingdom area.
Of course Lilly, and Grace had a crush on him too, but it seemed like every girl did so she put that fact past her and still wished for Malphus for herself. No one she knew could resist those beautiful green eyes with brown curly hair that loved to sit on one side, high cheek bones, and a muscular body. His skin wasn't pale nor was it tan, it was just in the middle, and he wasn't short at all he was 6'3 making him the tallest King in history. Kings usually wavered between 5'6 and 6'0, rarely shorter.
The three walked into the main hall, leaving the butler and Valerie to get Malphus' and her bags.
"Aren't Lady Francis and King Malphus the cutest?" said the butler hoping to start up some conversation. Valerie didn't know what to say, about the lady and King locking arms so she just nodded her head with a weary smile on her face.
"Did you see how they locked arms when they walked off to go to the guest room?" This butler seemed young, maybe Valerie's age, he seemed new to the job as well because with the few butlers she met they always had a mean look on their face and never talked much.
"Hm, did they? Well what's your name. I'm Valerie." Valerie turned the conversation to something other than Malphus and Francis.
"I'm Anthony, nice to meet you Miss Valerie." They finished carrying the bags from the carriage to the castle doors. A maid passed them and the butler turned into the firm, cold one she originally expected.
"You, take this to the guest room closest to King Raymond's room." He pointed to the bags and then down the hall.
He looked at the visitor and saw how uneasy she had turned. He figured that their butler was extremely firm, as she stood straight up and looked straight ahead.
"Hey do you wanna see our garden?" his mood changed back to what it was when it was just him and Valerie, which put her to ease.
She nodded and followed the man through a bunch of hallways while getting to know each other more. In the Rosters garden were beautiful roses of all kinds of different colors. There were also a lot of different flowers like Gardenia's, Jasmine's, Lily of the Valley's, Sweet pea's, Wisteria's, and Frangipani's.
"Wow, Lady Francis must really like flowers- really good smelling flowers." The wind blew throwing all the different scents at Valerie and Anthony, and though the scents were overbearing they smelt so good that she wanted to smell them for her whole life. She was completely mesmerized by the way they look, smelt, and how random the placement of the flowers were on one side and how organized they were on the other side.
"No, it's actually I who enjoy's planting the flowers and caring for them. Raymond doesn't mind the flowers because he gives a bouquet to every high class lady who visits him." replied Anthony as he saw some maids watching them and sent them a glare and they hurried back to where they were supposed to be.
