Chapter 20 - Arising suspicion

"What is going on here? Will someone explain to me why the floor is echoing with screams and why is food scattered all over the floor?" Oliver yelled looking at the floor smeared with food items

Both Louisa and Sophia looked at him

"Oliver, did you listen to your daughter's words? She wants proof to believe that you hold secrets. She is so naive," Sophia said walking towards her husband

"Sophia, stop walking. If you keep walking you will step on the broken pieces," Oliver yelled

"Really darling? These broken pieces can't hurt me anymore because I have been living with a heart which was shattered into pieces years back

"Sophia, you are out of mind don't speak anything now and stop walking. Flora catch hold of her," Oliver ordered when Sophia started to walk

Flora and two other assistants ran to stop Sophia. Louisa looked at her dad who circled the enormous dining table to walk near to her mother

"Sophia, you are speaking out of mind, you need rest," he said rubbing Sophia's shoulder

"I am speaking truth darling. I can't carry it anymore in my heart. Why am I supposed to bear everything? What have I done to get everyone's hate?" Sophia cried

Louisa saw her mother crying many times in the past few years but she brushed it off as a fake thing but now she wants to believe in her mother

"Take her to her room and make sure she takes the prescribed medication. She needs rest right now," Oliver ordered the staff

"No, I don't want to leave the place. Why should I always listen to whatever you say? Why don't I have the freedom to do whatever I want?" Sophia yelled

"Take her from here right now," Oliver yelled and the staff immediately followed his orders and walked near to Sophia

They made her stand on her feet and rushed her away from the floor

Oliver looked at his daughter who stood rooted in her place from the past few minutes

"Louisa, are you alright?" Oliver asked shaking his daughter

Louisa came out of her thoughts and nodded at her father

"We need to speak Dad," Louisa said once she became normal

"Yes, Louisa we will. But it's quite late now and you need to catch your sleep," Oliver said with a small smile

"Dad but this is important, I want few answers," Louisa said looking at Oliver

"You have experienced many things in a single day Baby. Now your body needs rest. I promise that I will answer every question of yours. Now go and take rest," he said ruffling her hair

Louisa nodded in response even though she was not okay with that

"That's my girl," Oliver kissed on her forehead

"Flora, accompany her to her room and stay near her tonight," Oliver ordered

"Yes Sir," Flora replied and smiled at him

Flora took Louisa away from the dining room

"Clean the floor and Prepare some light food for Louisa. Bring them to me before taking it to her," Oliver ordered the Chef's

He left the floor controlling the raging emotions inside him.

----------

Flora took Louisa downstairs. Louisa's steps just followed the way but her mind kept wandering. Her mind is full of thoughts and peace is nowhere near her

After all the incidents which took place from the evening, Louisa had no composure left. Everything is disturbing her.

If she can't come of her thoughts she knows what will happen. She can't let her own mind control her but she has no spirit left in her to fight back

"Lou, we have reached your room," Aunt Flora's words brought her back to the present

Louisa didn't react anything and sat on the couch.

"What is troubling my Louisa?" Flora asking massaging Louisa's scalp

"I don't know Aunt Flora. Didn't you just saw what all Mrs. Miller said? I know that she just blabber anything but this time I felt like there are many things hidden from me. I just don't know whom to believe in and whom to not. I just can't come terms with the things she said," Louisa said leaning back on the headrest

"Louisa, you are thinking too much dear. You know that Mrs. Miller never had control over her tongue. She is very drunk now and has no control over her mouth. You should not take them into your mind," Flora said massaging Louisa's temple

"Aunt Flora, so you want me to brush off her words?" Louisa asked looking up

"Yes, you should not worry thinking about her words when she is absolutely not in her senses," Flora said continuing with the massage

"Aunt Flora, you have been working here for many years. You came to this house even before I was born. You are the only one constant person who is here even after all these years, so you know how we are, how we react, and all. Do you think Dad has some secrets under his sleeve?" Louisa asked

Flora exhaled a heavy breath left Louisa's scalp and walked forward and stood opposite to Louisa

"Lou, look at me," Flora said taking Louisa's hands into hers

"Louisa, whatever you said was true. I am working here for years and from what I know I can surely say that Mr. Oliver Miller has many secrets with him because he is a multimillionaire businessman. But none of his secrets ever affected the family. He loves you a lot. You are his everything. The past few years when you left the house you took away his happiness with you. He often used to spend his time here as he felt your presence in this room," Flora said patting on Louisa's arms

Louisa nodded hearing to everything Flora said. After contemplating with the words Louisa's heart was at little ease.

"If you take everything into your head it will just increase the unnecessary stress. You are a young girl and you need to live your life without worrying about this stupid stuff," Flora said to her

"Aunt Flora, it's quite late. You need rest," Louisa said

"You need rest more than me, Lou. You have been stressed out for quite some time now. But before that you need to have something," Flora replied

"No Aunt Flora, I don't want to eat anything now," Louisa declared

"I can't let you sleep with an empty stomach. At least you need to drink something and I will bring it," Flora said standing up from the couch

While Louisa tried stopping Flora, they heard a knock on the door
